At a time when contractors are spread so thin, every effort was made to get someone to us in a timely manner to get through our rather piecemeal series of jobs to do. We made the decision to list our home, and when I reached out to them to let them know this, they found a way to bump us up a couple of weeks on the calendar. We have an older south Minneapolis home, so needless to say, things have settled. The doors each took some time to install, but they look great and they're level. The guys they sent in were friendly (it can be quite awkward having people in and out of your personal space, but they were always easy to engage with). We had new windows installed a couple of years ago and were very pleased with the quality work and the results. So when we decided to replace our patio door, we didn’t even think about calling anyone else but Craftsmen! We know them and trust them completely. One thing that stands out is that they were very careful to include us in any decisions that had to be made as the work progressed – informing us of options and working with us to make sure they completed the job exactly as we wanted. The WORK itself was good. The SCHEDULING was a mess. This was a multi-part project. The door removal went fine. The shower floor painting was scheduled and the date came and went (no-show). I couldn't get a hold of the scheduler for a few days and then find out that the person who was supposed to do the painting was no longer with them, and they "couldn't find anyone who knew how to do this work". It took another couple of weeks and then the painting was done using a subcontractor (at their expense). We THEN had problems with the shower door being incorrect (not their fault), but after waiting several days for the replacement door, it then took another 3 weeks to get the handyman back to finish the installation. I give them credit for making good on their estimate by using the subcon for the painting, but the whole thing just took way too long and we were without our shower for a month.

Working with Higgins Construction was a great experience for our family. If questions or concerns arose throughout the project we were able to discuss those things and come to a remedy to correct the question or concern. The crew of people that they have working for them and the subcontractors they brought in were all professional and courteous. They are very fair on their pricing and when they discovered some things that would help with insulation on our home or structural issues in our soffits - they immediately had a clear explanation for their suggestion and price for that to be fixed. Our project consisted of the following: Roof, chimney rebuilt from roofline up, new garage door, siding, shutters, cupola, soffits/facia/gutters, cedar posts on porch, lighting in soffits above the garage door.

My experience with Paul's company was amazing! Paul met with me personally on 3 separate occasions to obtain specs for the project and determine my wants and needs. The project timeline for the work was able to be moved up. Paul's crew was prompt, efficient, professional and cleaned up at the end of each day. Complete tear down of the old deck, new footings poured and complete construction of the new deck was done in 2 days. I wish I could have this type of experience with every company I choose to hire.
