In 2020 there were 8 major work stoppages, the third lowest number since 1947

In 2020, 8 major strikes and lockouts began in the year and idled 27,000 workers. Three work stoppages in the educational services industry idled 9,300 workers with a cumulative 56,500 days of idleness lasting a total of 19 workdays.
