LinkedIn share image not appearing
-
Having a very strange issue where my site (hosted by SiteGround) is not showing the share image on LinkedIn only. The really weird part is on the staging site, the share image does appear. So I’m puzzled as to why this might be happening. Does this have anything to do with CloudFlare?
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

When I inspected your site I can see that og:image meta tag is not specified.
https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/inspect/https:%2F%2Fwrittenpalette.com%2FIn order to control what appears in sharing dialogs on social platforms, you need to specify Open Graph meta tags. I would suggest adding the following Open Graph tags to each of your pages: og:image, og:description, og:title, and og:url.
Check out Facebook’s Developer Documentation for more information:

AddThis SupportI just checked my code and all those Open Graph tags are right there. Check https://writtenpalette.com/discover-dornfelder/ and you’ll see the code.
Amy update on this? The images aren’t appearing and now the share counts aren’t displaying either.
And OpenGraph is set.
I’m no longer seeing AddThis buttons on this page- https://www.writtenpalette.com/discover-dornfelder/#.YJiwjmYzbyu
Could you add them back, so that I can take a look and see what’s happening?
I’m seeing it. Just tried it in both an incognito and standard window and it came up each time.
I couldn’t find our buttons anywhere on your page. The addthis_widget.js instance (AddThis script) seems missing – https://www.screencast.com/t/DljFDA7jhvy.
I’m not sure how you’re seeing the buttons. Do you mind send me a screenshot?
Try the phone. You’re right. Fir some reason, it’s not even displaying on the desktop anymore after I made some changes to the settings, trying to get the floating widget to show up.
The script was hard to find due to all the scripts being combined in SG Optimizer (SiteGround) but after turning off caching, it shows up in the code.
<script type="8785c8218c3faa85c8ebb3a2-text/javascript" src='https://s7.addthis.com/js/300/addthis_widget.js?ver=5.7.1#pubid=terikor' id='addthis_widget-js'></script>
But the flyout does not show up.
It’s showing up now. I had to change the threshold for the flyout.
The buttons are not loading and I’m still not able to find our script (addthis_widget.js instance) on your page. If you’ve added them correctly then it should be visible when we inspect the page or when we view the page source code. Now it seems missing- https://www.screencast.com/t/iMsR71QWBvc.
Are you able to see the addthis_widget.js instance in your page source code?
Could you also send all these details to [email protected]?
Try it now. I had to turn off the SG Optimizer to get the flyout to show up.
Now I’m able to see the script loading and buttons showing up fine- https://www.screencast.com/t/MclQhQn7x.
The Linkedin share too seems working fine. The image is correctly fetching from the specified og:image meta tag – https://www.screencast.com/t/oZJSUue3xqkU.
Are you still experiencing any issue?
The number of shares is not appearing under each network. It used to.
The share counts showing up fine- https://www.screencast.com/t/H2KosRFoSr9.
Twitter and Linkedin deprecated their share counts.
https://blog.twitter.com/2015/hard-decisions-for-a-sustainable-platform
https://developer.linkedin.com/blog/posts/2018/deprecating-the-inshare-counterFacebook deprecated the endpoint we used to pull shares, so we’re unable to fetch the Facebook share counts now. Our engineers are looking for an alternative way to fetch share counts.
We currently support share counts for the following services:
* Facebook (currently under review)
* Pinterest
* Reddit
* Delicious
* VK
* Odnoklassniki`That still does not address when we updated and made changes to the Genesis theme why we lost all the shares in the process of the changes. I know the share buttons are working but I would like to regain all the shares from last weeks changes. If we cannot, is it time to change who we use for share buttons because obviously AddThis is not upgrading their system to match the upgrades with other plugins and themes.
