You can help translating WordPress to your language at any time. Just log in to the translation platform with your WordPress.org account, and suggest translations. If you want to help in managing and validating translations, please make sure to get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

Weekly Meetings

Hi polyglots 🙂 I’m a member of the BuddyPress coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. team and release leadRelease Lead The community member ultimately responsible for the Release. for 2.7. I have read the FAQ but have no way of determining who translated BP for our 2.7 version release.

We’d like to thank the individual translators and PTEs for BuddyPress in the 2.7 Release post. At this time, based on at least 95% coverage for Development and/or Development Readme translations on this page, I have the following to thank so far:
baardkr(nb_NO), casiepa (it_IT), danbp (fr_FR), dancaragea (ro_RO), espellcaste(pt_BR), kidsguide(en_CA), netweb (en_AU), slaffik (ru_RU), trkr (tr_TR), webaware (en_NZ).

Please let me know if I missed anyone to thank. We’ll be packaging 2.7 tomorrow, October 19, sometime after 19:00 UTC. I will check here again before we publish the release post.

thanks for all. It’s OK for me.
Just a little warn: be carefull, not every one is a direct “contributor”.

On the french contributors list, only @vanespenamaury and i participated to 2.7 BP fr translation.

The other names in the list are there because they added some FR into WP or theme in the past and that stringString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. is very common and also used in BP, like ago, download and such.

I’m regulary contacted by plugins authors for the same reason. My name appears on pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party’s FR contributor list, despite i never worked on it and even don’t know about it !
