What about Ketone-IQ, what we work on all day ? Ketones follow this exact same pattern — they began as a solution for outlier groups, and we're in process of making it a nutritional tool available to everybody not just outliers. What's the story of Ketone-IQ?

Hey on ep 51 you mentioned that if you swapped out alcohol for caffeine earlier in life you'd be a "Rhodes Scholar billionaire" 🤣 This is not far off from history! The rise of coffee as an alternative to beer was a key part of The Enlightenment.

We've taken the insights from relatively narrow groups — initially therapeutic applications, and later military special operators — and scaled those design solutions to the broad population.

It turns out that ketones have a breadth of benefits, well beyond therapeutic use for people with seizures or performance enhancement by elite military operators. The same fundamental ways ketones help those groups, it also helps everyday people.

In 2017, & I launched the world's first ketone drink . Even at this point, it was still for a limited group. It cost $33/dose and the taste was intense! We secured a $6MM contract with the US Special Operations Command to further the R&D on exogenous ketones.

These early exogenous ketones in the early 2000's were extremely expensive and foul tasting. They were still only built for an outlier group — elite operators in the US Military.
