Blender Animation Studio is the new feature animation offshoot of award-winning Dutch facility Blender Institute. Founded in the Netherlands in 2007 by producer and computer graphics pioneer Ton Roosendaal, Blender Institute has released highly successful Open Movie Projects, including Big Buck Bunny, Sintel, the Caminandes series and award-winning Cosmos Laundromat.
The Blender team is currently developing its first feature film, based on the iconic Agent 327 comic series, originally created by Dutch legend Martin Lodewijk.
To help raise the budget and find Hollywood production partners, the Blender studio has signed up with leading talent agency William Morris Endeavour.
Blender Animation Studio is currently developing its first animated feature film, based on the celebrated Dutch comic character Agent 327. This adventurous comedy is targeted at an international market.
Thanks to Blender's free and open software project, known by millions of people, the studio can use a large network of artists and developers world-wide. The Blender team has pioneered crowd-funding and is self-supportive thanks to an innovative cloud platform. Blender seeks for additional funding to kickstart the production in the Netherlands of a high-end 3D animated CG feature film.
