The Customer Success Organization is looking for an enthusiastic individual pursuing a career in Forecasting and Capacity Planning. This role will report into our Business Operations team and will learn to provide best in class forecasting and capacity management practices within a quickly growing organization.

Successful candidates for this role will demonstrate extraordinary attention to detail, logical problem solving, an ability to distill large amounts of data or complex problems into a simple format, and an ability to explain complex outputs to a wide range of audiences. Proficiency in Excel is strongly recommended but not necessary. 

This role will work closely with multiple teams across the organization as we continue to grow and scale. Candidate will assist and be supported by a subject matter expert and will be responsible for helping to analyze and maintain multiple demand forecast models and associated processes for all lines of business and customer types within GitHub. Additionally, this candidate will execute capacity management processes to align resources to the demand forecast.  This role will also pair closely with our Finance, Sales Data Science, and Data Engineering departments  as well as all teams within Customer Success.

The role requires some entry-level Forecasting & Resource Planning experience.  Other experience with data analytics, modeling, problem solving, budget planning, or any similar field is also accepted. Prior experience does not need to be strictly within the Technology industry.

The Forecasting and Planning function has frequent requests for information, analysis and change plans from around the business.  It also has weekly and monthly deliverables and timeframes that must be maintained irrespective of external constraints.  However, it is essential that those external constraints are incorporated into the production environment in a timely manner.  


Responsibilities

  • Update/maintain multiple demand forecast models
  • Incorporate upcoming change plans in regular forecast cadences
  • Execute capacity management processes 
  • Prepare information packs/reports for stakeholders at regular intervals.
  • Contribute feedback and process improvements whenever applicable
  • Hear feedback from other Hubbers and extract themes and actionable steps
  • Participate in Monthly/Quarterly Lock Processes for Senior Leadership Team sign-off
  • Alignment of business goals and models
  • Partner with Data Analytics team to develop new reporting to help drive continuous improvement

Key Skills / Experience

  • Entry-level Forecasting and Capacity Planning experience is required, or commensurate experience in a similar role.
  • Comfortable with intricate data-driven environments
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally
  • Flexibility in communication style (Zoom, asynchronous work, documentation or presentations, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Excel is strongly recommended
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ideally, the candidate will have worked in a contact center planning team but may have transferable experience in other environments
