Viewing your GitHub Packages usage

You can view details of your usage of storage and data transfer for GitHub Packages.

GitHub Packages is available with GitHub Free, GitHub Pro, GitHub Free for organizations, GitHub Team, GitHub Enterprise Cloud, GitHub Enterprise Server, and GitHub AE.


GitHub Packages is not available for private repositories owned by accounts using legacy per-repository plans. Also, accounts using legacy per-repository plans cannot access the Container registry since these accounts are billed by repository. For more information, see "GitHub's products."

Viewing GitHub Packages usage for your user account

Anyone can view GitHub Packages usage for their own user account.

  1. In the upper-right corner of any page, click your profile photo, then click Settings. Settings icon in the user bar
  2. In your user settings sidebar, click Billing & plans. Billing & plans settings
  3. Under "GitHub Packages", view details of your usage for data transfer. Details of usage of data transfer
  4. Under "Storage for Actions and Packages", view details of your storage usage for GitHub Actions and GitHub Packages combined. Storage usage data synchronizes every hour. Details of storage usage
  5. Optionally, next to "Usage this month", click Get usage report to email a CSV report of storage use for GitHub Actions and GitHub Packages to the account's primary email address. Download CSV report

Viewing GitHub Packages usage for your organization

Organization owners and billing managers can view GitHub Packages usage for an organization. For organizations managed by an enterprise account, only the organization owners can view GitHub Packages usage in the organization billing page.

  1. In the upper-right corner of any page, click your profile photo, then click Settings. Settings icon in the user bar
  2. In the settings sidebar, click Organizations. Organizations settings in the sidebar
  3. Next to the organization, click Settings. The settings button
  4. If you're an organization owner, in the left sidebar, click Billing & plans. Billing & plans in the organization settings sidebar
  5. Under "GitHub Packages", view details of your usage for data transfer. Details of usage of data transfer
  6. Under "Storage for Actions and Packages", view details of your storage usage for GitHub Actions and GitHub Packages combined. Storage usage data synchronizes every hour. Details of storage usage

Viewing GitHub Packages usage for your enterprise account

Enterprise owners and billing managers can view GitHub Packages usage for an enterprise account.

Note: Billing details for enterprise accounts only summarize the storage data usage per organization. The usage includes the total minutes used by each organization. The combined summary for GitHub Actions and GitHub Packages does not list included minutes, paid minutes, or a price estimate per GB of storage.

  1. In the top-right corner of GitHub, click your profile photo, then click Your enterprises. "Your enterprises" in drop-down menu for profile photo on GitHub

  2. In the list of enterprises, click the enterprise you want to view. Name of an enterprise in list of your enterprises

  3. In the enterprise account sidebar, click Settings. Settings tab in the enterprise account sidebar

  4. In the left sidebar, click Billing. Billing tab in the enterprise account settings sidebar

  5. Under "GitHub Packages", view details of usage of data transfer by each organization in your enterprise account. Details of usage of data transfer

  6. Under "GitHub Storage for Actions and Packages", view details of storage usage by each organization in your enterprise account, for both GitHub Actions and GitHub Packages. Details of storage usage

  7. Optionally, under "GitHub Actions and Packages monthly usage", click Get usage report to email a CSV report of storage use for GitHub Actions and GitHub Packages in each of your enterprise account's organizations to the primary email address for the account. Download CSV report
