Adding information to your receipts

You can add extra information to your GitHub receipts, such as tax or accounting information required by your company or country.

Your receipts include your GitHub subscription as well as any subscriptions for other paid features and products.

Warning: For security reasons, we strongly recommend against including any confidential or financial information (such as credit card numbers) on your receipts.

Adding information to your personal account's receipts

  1. In the upper-right corner of any page, click your profile photo, then click Settings. Settings icon in the user bar
  2. In your user settings sidebar, click Billing & plans. Billing & plans settings
  3. At the top of the page, click Payment information. Payment information link
  4. Under "Payment information", under "Extra information", click Add information. Billing extra info button
  5. Type the extra information you'd like on your receipt, then click Save contact information. Contact info field

Adding information to your organization's receipts

Note: Only organization members with the owner or billing manager role can access or change billing settings for your organization.

  1. In the upper-right corner of any page, click your profile photo, then click Settings. Settings icon in the user bar
  2. In the settings sidebar, click Organizations. Organizations settings in the sidebar
  3. Next to the organization, click Settings. The settings button
  4. If you're an organization owner, in the left sidebar, click Billing & plans. Billing & plans in the organization settings sidebar
  5. At the top of the page, click Payment information. Payment information link
  6. Under "Payment information", under "Extra information", click Add information. Billing extra info button
  7. Type the extra information you'd like on your receipt, then click Save contact information. Contact info field
