⬇️👌exactly this! This is why in the original paper we use many different animals and can then use only 50-500 frames for a solid model ☺️

I would add this is in the docs, and protocol paper, but I am finding this is not always used ☺️ 🤗 My hope with the new DLC Cookbook that docs are easier to navigate, and fun to read! I promise, there are a lot of 💎 in there!

In this vein, as part of our model zoo effort, we are pushing hard to make it easier for everyone -we will be releasing models that out perform ImageNet pre-training- for some applications it means zero training. But no matter what: great diversity of data=better performance!

I've been noticing more and more that people are using DeepLabCut sub-optimally: don't train a network per animal. 20 individuals w/10 images per individual is MUCH better than 200 frames from 1 video! You will not get robust networks this way. [Just my advice to the void.]

What is behavior? Does your definition agree with your friends' definition? We found that people combined six categories of behaviors into seven different types. Not everyone agrees, but each individual has their own consistent definition. 👉
