"CGL went above and beyond when taking care of me and my fireplace. I had a great experience with them; however, there were some communication issues initially, but they more than made up for that by the outstanding service. I went with CGL because of the price, and they do not charge for a return visit. The first time they came out, they did not have the part needed to fix my fireplace and said they had to come back. Before he left, he took some time to check out my other fireplace since he was here. They did not try to sell me anything and explained everything to where I could understand it. When they came back out with the part, the service technician was great. He was polite and explained what he was doing and some tips to keep my fireplaces in great shape. When he finished, he cleaned up after himself. I mentioned that I was planning on installing a remote for both of my fireplaces. He told me precisely what remote to get and how to install it when it arrived. He told me to call if I had issues installing it on either fireplace, and they would guide me through it. Now talk about going above and beyond. I will use Chicago Gas Lines anytime I need anything for my fireplaces."

GPR performed a firebox rebuild and a parge of the chamber, as well as an installation of a new damper installed at the chimney cap level. The work was performed timely and the firebox looks great. Two days after the work was performed, a different, well-known, chimney restoration visited to perform prep work for a cement liner installation in the chimney chamber, and the company rep remarked when he saw the work that "whoever did your work did a remarkable job".
