We’re very proud to announce the final release of Matt 2.2, a full year in the making since the last major release. This version includes dozens of enhancements ranging from DSLR support to the new facial hair module (which we could never quite get to work in previous revs). The knowledge base has been expanded, though it’s still a bit light on the experience benchmark. We’ve also fixed that bug that was around since about 1.7 where it thought the knowledge base was already full. Now it knows more, but knows it knows less. Short-term RAM is still a little flakey. Email processing is also still slow, but the “piano” and “reading” plugins have come a long way. This version also runs without a support contract from a major corporation. Most people surveyed agreed this was a solid upgrade, but we know there’s a lot of work left to do still. We hope to continue listening to feedback and keep up the regular release schedule.
Since people are asking, this so-called alert on Security Focus appears to be completely false and has no information that an attacker or the WordPress developers could use. It is completely content-free, except for making claims that every version of WP since 2.0 is vulnerable. Online, apparently, it's fine for…
Wincent Colaiuta has no problem throwing flames at WordPress, but doesn't see fit to enable comments. (Apparently disabled to make Movable Type more secure.) His table-layout blog isn't too notable but it got linked from Daring Fireball so a lot of people saw his article trying to draw the line…
Update: On December 6th we released WordPress 5.0. It was definitely the most controversial release in a while, but the usage and adoption metrics are looking similar to previous releases. I'm looking forward to continuing to iterate on the new block editor! We are nearing the release date for WordPress…
Well, happy birthday, then! How much time do you actually have to play piano these days with all you do? And you’re a sax player too, is that right?
Happy birthday, Matt!
*LOL* Good one. Happy birthday, Matt.
>We hope to continue listening to feedback>
Maybe add some lines in sleep module to reduce jet-lag, and upgrade reading to fast-reading (that’s a big task by the way, I’d set the milestone for this in Matt 2.4)
Anyway, feliz cumpleaños
A week ago I released >Dante 1.6>. The piano module has been greatly increased since its inception in 0.7. This release also sees the Tenor Sax Plugin.
Anyway, hopefully by Matt 2.3 and Dante 1.7 the piano and sax modules on both will be expanded. (And we just can’t wait until 1.8 for the “Drinking plugin” :p).
Congrats on a new release.
Happy birthday, Matt! have a wonderful birthday
Happy birthday! You’ve had a good year.
Here’s to many more.
Cheers Matt!! And we hope there are many new, enhaced versions of this amazing Matt!!
Yes, but when are you going to go open source?
Reviews say that the Hot Date plug-in causes a memory leak Happy Birthday Matt!
Hilarious! Frankly, it’s tough to believe this is only the 2.2 release. Similar apps don’t hit their stride until the 3.x cycle. Nice work, and I look forward to future development.
Will wordpress upgrades continue at the same speed as matt updates? Or will there be a microsoft style patch day?
Happy birthday.
A very happy birthday Matt
We wait for major upgrades by the next major version
Version 2.2 eh… is it better than version 2.1 ? Will this new version still spew out wonderful script works? :). Congratulations with the new “release” hehehe
Is 2.2 really any different that 2.1, or is it just a marketing ploy to get people to come upgrade (aka, party)?
Happy birthday indeed! — Will there be an OS X version at some point?
Belated Happy B’Day!!

Happy Birthday! Does Matt 2.2 also work with ‘FunMod’ off? I doubt that
Happy birthday dude! So how have things been since the full stable release of 2.1 (aka. “Budwieser”)?

Matt you’ve made me more confident about my upcoming site design in 2 ways…
1. My header is miniscule in comparison to yours.
2. I realise I don’t hate staring at a picture of the author on every page.
Great work!
