About billing for your enterprise

You can view billing information for your enterprise.

Enterprise accounts are available with GitHub Enterprise Cloud and GitHub Enterprise Server. For more information, see "About enterprise accounts."

About billing for your enterprise

GitHub bills monthly for the total number of members in your enterprise account, as well as any additional services you use with GitHub Enterprise Cloud.

For invoiced GitHub Enterprise customers, GitHub bills through an enterprise account on GitHub.com. Each invoice includes a single bill charge for all of your paid GitHub.com services and any GitHub Enterprise Server instances. For more information about usage and invoices, see "Viewing the subscription and usage for your enterprise account" and "Managing invoices for your enterprise."

Administrators for your enterprise account on GitHub.com can access and manage billing for the enterprise.

Each member of your enterprise account with a unique email address consumes a license. Billing managers do not consume a license. Each outside collaborator on a private repository that an organization in your enterprise owns consumes a license, unless the private repository is a fork. Each invitee to your enterprise account, including owners, members of organizations, and outside collaborators, consume a license. For more information about roles in an enterprise account, see "Roles in an enterprise" and "Inviting people to manage your enterprise."

If you purchased GitHub Enterprise through a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, you can connect your Azure Subscription ID to your enterprise account to enable and pay for GitHub Actions and GitHub Packages usage beyond the amounts included with your account. For more information, see "Connecting an Azure subscription to your enterprise."

About synchronization of license usage

GitHub Enterprise offers two deployment options. In addition to GitHub Enterprise Cloud, you can use GitHub Enterprise Server to host development work for your enterprise in your data center or a supported cloud. For more information, see "GitHub's products."

You can allocate the user count for your GitHub Enterprise license to members of both your GitHub Enterprise Server instance and an enterprise account on GitHub Enterprise Cloud. When you add a user to either environment, the user will consume one license. If a user has accounts in both environments, to consume only one license, the user's primary email address on your GitHub Enterprise Server instance must be the same as the user's verified email address on GitHub.com. You can sync license count and usage between the environments. For more information, see "Syncing license usage between GitHub Enterprise Server and GitHub Enterprise Cloud" in the GitHub Enterprise Server documentation.
