Magnolia Home Remodeling GroupWe worked with Chris from Magnolia on a second floor remodel and were extremely happy with the process and results. The reno included demolition, framing for new roofline and dormers, roof and gutters, siding, new master bathroom, master closet, laundry space, wood floor and stairs, doors, millwork, tiling, masonry for a chimney extension, windows, and central air system. Chris is a great guy, very easy to work with it, trustworthy, and responsive. He hires skilled subcontractors and kept the reno moving at a good pace. There were no surprises with either the budget or scope of work. Magnolia made our dreams come true with this reno and we would definitely recommend them for your job.- Beth H.

We started with a simple project to remove stairs that were in our kitchen that led to a den which we were now making a closet and moving the entrance to our master bath. That led to us redoing the master bath, the bedroom, the kitchen, the closet, etc. Every time we added on, it was not an issue. Gaudioso ContractingWent well. My family lived in the house during the 4+ month reno and the crew were always clean, respectful and kind. They would wipe down the floor protectors 1x per week and upon request. Project manager Luis took feedback on progress of job and always reacted/corrected promptly. Was visible on site every 2-3 days, but would always show up at the appointed time upon request and with helpful constructive solutions, many at no additional cost to me. Would never slam me with requests for last minute material needs where I would need to make a decision without reasonable notice. I was my own project manager for everything but the bathrooms, where I had a designer, and Luis could speak in both designer language and in 'normal person without construction experience' language at all times without dumbing things down. Would always explain the 'why' when he would explain the construction possibilities. They did parquet throughout the top floor in keeping with the rest of the 1920s townhouse that looks great. Therefore, I have to say I am still quite impressed with the quality of work that this company does. This particular company goes above and beyond and they really came through for me and my family when we needed something to get done in a timely manner. Fernando laid out my options to get the job done correctly and the job was completed quick for the amount of work that needed to be done, including running a new line. After, they cleaned up everything and left no garbage or materials behind. Very Satisfied. Will use them again. Hello - I hired LAURELTON ELECTRIC company (contact Michael Scheffler) based on original work of 1)installing a new meter( with appropriate approval from local Gas/Electric utility company - Con Edison), 2) move existing circuit breaker panel to a new location, and 3) separate circuit breakers from two meters into 3 meters and ensure all electric outlets are working per 3 new meters. The company sent two technicians on two separate days (Chris and Ashgar Ali) to confirm the work prior to start. The original agreement was for $500 deposit that will be held on a Credit Card, and when I pay for the full amount after job completion, then the company would not charge the credit card. As part of first phase of the work, when the contractor moved the existing electric panel to new location, not all circuit breakers are working as expected. He also requested $2,500 payment which was not part of the original agreement. In show of good faith I paid $2,500 with understanding that the contractor will correct the issue plus install the new meter. The contractor has not installed new meter (he needs to work with Con Edison to get permit and complete the work). Now he is requesting additional $3,100 for moving 6 circuit breakers from original panel that was moved to an existing panel .. which was part of the original work request. I am really frustrated with the bait-and-switch tactic and constant follow-up I have to do for this work to be completed. I am hoping Angie's list can intervene and get this work completed per original agreement.
