Hi, I am getting the following error when trying to log into my
    website:

    Aborting…

This started happening after I attempted to update the plugin. Now I
am locked out of the admins back end and not sure how to fix. Since I
can’t connect to the back end anymore, I cannot see what the versions
    are.

I reached out to the AWPCP people and they suggested I ask word press to restore to previous version (they can’t do anything on their end I am told).

I tried renaming the FTP file but then I get a fatal error and still cannot log in.

    Please help!

  • Hi @raphkadu,

As Bobbie already noted to you above in your email conversation, you’ll need some help in restoring your site using FTP to temporarily get rid of the AWPCP plugin from the back end. Your upgrade looks like it corrupted the plugin files so in order to recover, you’ll need to do what Bobbie already suggested.

    – Login to your website using FTP or SCP
    – Go to the plugins directory in your WP install (wp-admin/plugins)
    – Remove the directory “another-wordpress-classifieds-plugin” under this folder
    – This should allow you to login to your site again as admin
    – Go to the admin dashboard for Plugins
    – Reinstall “AWPCP” and your site will return to normal

Try that and let me know if you run into more issues.

Could you help describe the process for the steps you listed in more details? I’m new to this and struggling!

I logged into media temple, went to FTP file manager, I’m currently looking at the file contents for /domains/rufregistry.com/html/wp-admin/plugins.php

I did a ctrl F search for “another” and got 0 results. Do you have any additional steps?

actually scratch that, I think I was able to rename and I accessed the admins page again, deleted then re downloaded AWPCP, and activated it.

Now I’m getting the following errors and all my content is still gone:
Warning: mysql_query(): No such file or directory in /nfs/c10/h05/mnt/142753/domains/rufregistry.com/html/wp-content/themes/rufforum/header.php on line 434

Warning: mysql_query(): A link to the server could not be established in /nfs/c10/h05/mnt/142753/domains/rufregistry.com/html/wp-content/themes/rufforum/header.php on line 434
    No such file or directory

    Hi @raphkadu,

Sorry this continues to be a hassle here.

That error is coming from your theme and wouldn’t be related to AWPCP. I would suggest switching to a default theme like TwentyTwenty or TwentyNineteen (which is included with most WP installs) and test things out there. Your theme appears to be missing some key files which would have nothing to do with restoring AWPCP. It sounds like you have some other things going on there, but this should help.

A reinstall of your original theme might help as well.
