Old School Builders LLCI’m very happy with the work that Old School Builders did on my remodel project. My 6-year old granddaughter says I have a new house inside my whole house! They gave me new bathrooms and a new kitchen, removed popcorn and then repaired the ceilings, installed new floors and interior doors, and painted it all. They did it all during the pandemic and were willing to work with me to keep traffic through my house to a minimum. Jimmy and Jeremy are good people, and I really enjoyed getting to know them. Qualified RenovationsWhen I decided to renovate my house, my goals were simple. I wanted to replace the old, stained carpet with new tile flooring, add new countertops in the kitchen and baths and create a master bath complete with a deep soaking tub. Those improvements alone would have been a tremendous improvement to my old, outdated, cluttered, and rundown house. What I got exceeded my wildest dreams and I owe it in large part to the efforts of the dynamic team of Frank and Cynthia Montemayor of Qualified Renovations. Originally, we contracted with Qualified Renovations for flooring. Then we learned that Frank’s company provided other design and construction services. Once we met Cynthia, we were off and running, picking countertops and backsplash and bathroom tile. Cynthia quickly assessed the situation and took charge of helping me create a vision for the space and then patiently guided me through iteration after iteration of design choices until I found the perfect materials and layout for my spaces. Frank took those ideas and made them a reality through his skill and expertise. Together the project was defined, a schedule agreed to, and a budget created. They kept us informed throughout the process, were receptive to our questions and changes, provided fair and firm pricing, and met their deadlines. Of course, there were modifications along the way, but I was always kept aware of any setbacks or delays and they were always accommodating when I added items or made changes. It was a completely collaborative effort throughout. I truly felt that Frank and Cynthia were as invested in my home as I was. Most of my favorite changes were at their suggestion, while always keeping my budget in mind. From the floor, to the bathrooms, the kitchen, and bathtub, they built my dream home. They were constantly surprising me with new ideas that I loved and that made my house so unique and so me. Qualified Renovations helped me define my expectations and then completely exceeded them. Together we built a place that I’m proud to invite guests into, that is stylish, comfortable, safe and efficient. They do a great job. They're professional, honest, and reliable. I've used them many times over the years for both my home and my rental property. I've always been very happy with their work. They really saved me after Snovid. We had a burst pipe that caused a ton of damage. They were able to troubleshoot, fix, and clean up everything super quickly, leaving us with running water at a time when it was basically impossible to find help. Can't thank these guys enough.

William G happened to text me if I still needed a quote? He asked at the right time, because first option never responded. Turning our house over to someone to fix up, was a little stressful at beginning. But that was all put to rest right away. William came by that very day, within 15 minutes gave me a quote along with helpful suggestions on remodeling my bathroom. This was a Friday and work began the following Monday. William was hands on (literally). Existing bathtub and shower were removed, window made smaller to give more space for new shower. Wall and floor tile removed. I opted for gray tone porcelain tile with a tile shower base. Did not want a pre-fab base. Floor tile resembles planking. New vanity counter and sinks installed. The big pleaser for my husband, is the widening of the bathroom doorway and the tile seat in the shower. lol. My husband and I are both pleased with the outcome of the bathroom. Especially me. Very pleased with the working relationship we had with William. I certainly recommend Home Sweet Home Improvements home remodeling. If anymore remodeling needs to be done on my home (I'm sure it will), I have William on speed dial. The attached photo, shows shower is waiting for glass.

Recent Review:
This experience was frustrating from beginning to end, or should I say, to when I finally gave up. Getting a quote was like pulling teeth and took about a month, during which they consistently missed the deadlines they set. Communication was terrible throughout the entire process - it was near impossible to get a response even when trying multiple channels and when I did get a response and they promised something they didn't deliver (on time, or at all). There was about a 2-month gap between (finally) getting a quote and us getting the OK to begin services, but once we were ready to move forward they became near unresponsive and did not take the necessary steps one their end to allow us to begin, even after multiple pleads to do so. It is so frustrating seeing all the other excellent reviews and then getting such sub-par service, which is why I kept trying thinking surely it's a fluke and they'll be better. Unfortunately that was not the case.

I contacted Ferguson as one of the first contractors I reached out to for my bathroom and kitchen remodels. I selected Ferguson because they are located near me and I wanted to give locals my business. Jeremy's wife, Julie, was in touch promptly after I reached out and sent some helpful information along before our appointment. I appreciated that. Jeremy came by our place to do our estimate. He was a ball of energy. That also means that he talked over me as I explained what I wanted done. I overlooked the interruptions because it seemed he understood what we wanted. At the end of the meeting Jeremy said it would be a couple of weeks before he could get a quote to us because there had been some flooding (?) at his place. Two weeks rolled by...and then a month... and no estimate. In the meantime, I had several other contractors come by-- and the better ones gave me a timely estimate. I hired one of the other contractors who followed through. I am disappointed that I wasn't able to give Ferguson my business since I wanted to hire someone locally. Their loss!

I can't believe it's the same space.They did a tub to shower conversion and even installed a barn door. Alan and Brian were instrumental in helping us bring our vision to life. They ensured we had quality products with a modern look. Dustin made sure the design made sense with the space. Cesar did a fantastic job with the construction. His attention to detail was on point. He and Duane were very responsive to my questions. Duane proactively kept us informed throughout the project. They finished the project in the estimated time. The work went great. I found a water stain in my ceiling after a recent storm, and I wanted to get the repair done before the next rainstorm in the forecast. I spoke to Alex, and he showed a real interest in getting the job done and asked for any pictures that I had that could help him assess the job. He was able to help me out and get the repair done right away. He even showed me that there were some exposed nailheads (that should have been sealed by a previous contractor but weren't) and took care of that as well. The price was competitive (I quoted with another roofing company), and I am very satisfied.

In August, we signed with Rx to have a bathroom remodel. They started on time, finished on schedule and budget, kept us informed all along, and the completed bathroom looked great. It was so great in fact that we re-hired them to do another bathroom immediately after in September. That bathroom looks great too.
