John was right on time with it all, he called and set up a time to meet with me and review my work that needed to be done. He came four different times because the mudding and taping take a bit to dry and he did a fantastic job texturing the walls to make sure it matched what was on the walls already.

The house was built in 1929 and more than likely has a traditional framed roof with rafters. The 2 ft overhang on the gable walls are being supported by an exposed 2x8 (that is acting both as a rafter and fascia) resting on exposed treated 4x4's fallowing the pitch of the roof up the gable wall. My question for this is how can I re-engineer the roof to eliminate the 4x4s while maintaining the 2 ft overhang that already exists. The other situation that's occurring is there was no fascia attached to the exposed rafter tails going down the side of the house which have begun to rot. My question for this is what type of repair can I do to the rafter tails without replacing them and also maintaining their 2-ft overhang.
