Julia is very responsive. She is a busy lady but when she is with you there is no sense that she has to be anywhere else. She is highly experienced and creative. She works from a blank slate with every client; considering the overall space and what the client wants to do with it. She can create a comfy nook or a whole house scheme. And she has a photographic color memory! I needed to have some serious fixing up and freshening for selling my house and we sold it in just a few weeks.

Beth was very easy to work with and listened to what I wanted to achieve in our new home which was built in the early '90's. She was very responsive to my initial contact and gave me several recommendations and professionals (tile, painters, granite fabricators etc) to contact as I did each project. About a month later after using the painters and tile professionals recommended by Beth in our powder bath remodel we decided to just get all main living areas done. Beth guided me throughout the project on design ideas, paint colors etc. She went tile and granite shopping with me to help coordinate and even went back to mark off a section of granite for the fabricator to use as the backsplash for the stove (which was Beth's recommendation that I love). Beth was accessible via phone and texting for input on multiple occasions. I highly recommend Beth with Second Glance Design. She will work with you as much or little as needed.

Very happy with the result. We had an old fashioned cultured marble countertop and it's now a shiny speckled finish. Looks great. John custom mixes the color so you can have any color you want, plain or with speckles. He made sure I was happy with the sample color and made a few adjustments for me before applying it. Also any time I contacted him he responded straight away. He is reliable and a good communicator. I intend to use A+ again and would recommend them to anyone.

I appreciated his attention to detail and he had no problem working longer than anticipated.HTX downtown Handyman was not only professional but also were a delight in our home!They came and installed 2 curved shower glass doors which came out amazing! He also hung an interior and storm door.The interior door was not square and Steevie took his time and took down the frame and squared the doors frame prior to just hanging it! Global DecoI had a great experience with Diego and his company, Global Deco USA! I found his company based on other outstanding reviews on Angie’s list and they did not disappoint! Diego and his team remodeled my master bathroom (replaced the vanity, redid the tile, changed the tub into a shower, repainted, replumbed, etc.) and it turned out absolutely perfectly! They were able to build a custom vanity to fit the shape of the space and Diego helped design the tiling in a way that was everything I envisioned and more! The total cost of the project was significantly below other estimates I received as well. Diego was there every step of the way and came with ideas of his own while also being cognizant of costs. He was straightforward and clear about expectations and the overall process. All members of his team were professional, friendly, and skilled. They do great work and take pride in that work. Lambert ConstructionI met Matt at a home show and knew at that very moment that he would be doing my remodel. I had been struggling with getting this project off the ground. Matt (GC) is very easy to talk to, understands the process and has great recommendations. Examples of his work are award winning and a testimony to his skill. His wife Tina (also GC) is a most talented artist and designer. She helped tremendously and kept me from making poor design and product choices during the process. They were both very attentive to my needs and communications. From the beginning demo through to the final cleanup, the crew was on time, professional and receptive to my comments and suggestions. Matt was on site nearly every day and often did much of the work himself. I appreciated that. Other estimates i received could not say that I would see the GC on such a regular basis. Communication on the project and responses to my issues were effective and swift. I was present during the entire project and there was no pushback on my nosiness. ;-) I was given the best bang for my buck and I contend that no one could have improved the results. The crew is stable and does not change from day to day. Only expert craftsmen are used and the the tile work (and there was a lot) was done with careful consideration to tile color and masterfully laid. They listened to me and helped me understand and make the choices that resulted in amazing results. The estimate and timeline were very accurate. The job was performed on schedule with no skimping on quality or detail. I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them if you treasure your home and want it to be truly a work of art when the remodel is completed.- Patricia H.

New ThresholdsWe hired New Thresholds to design a renovation plan for our ground floor open concept kitchen/living/dining areas and powder room. All spaces were circa 2006, with black granite countertops, dark stained wood cabinetry, taupe stone backsplash and very dated paint colors and furnishings throughout. Our goal for the kitchen was improved functionality and a totally updated white and bright look. Our designer Katherine Rush began the process by identifying the aesthetic look and style we desired. Next, she developed a plan to reconfigure the kitchen and breakfast areas. She designed a built-in window seat with storage, which made much better use of the existing breakfast dining space and also took advantage of our beautiful bay windows and backyard views. She recommended we add on to our existing kitchen cabinets and build them up to the ceiling. These new top cabinets have glass fronts and lighting, providing us with a beautiful and elegant display space. All of the cabinetry was painted and looks brand new. Our existing kitchen island was extended based on Katherine's recommendation, which enabled us to add storage as well as space for built-in cookbook shelves. An appliance garage and a sliding drawer for trash and recyclabes were both added near the sink. Finally, a dated oval-shaped bar height counter extending from the kitchen into the living rom was narrowed, giving the living area more space, and the kitchen sink area a clean and modern look. Katherine walked us through each step of the kitchen renovation. She helped us choose each design element, including countertops, backsplash, cabinet and wall paint colors, fixtures, sink, lighting, hardware, cushions and furniture. She was consistent at all times in helping us stick to the aesthetics and look we desired, while staying within our buget. For example, she didn't pressure us to switch out elements we chose not to replace, such as the floors and the majority of our appliances. Instead, she worked with these existing elements and somehow made them look better than before. In our living room, Katherine helped us choose a simple yet beautiful lighting scheme, paint, and all furniture and accessories in keeping with the modern French country look we desired. She was mindful of our budget at all times. Our formal dining space also received a makeover. A favorite new element in our renovated formal dining room is the built-in dry bar that Katherine designed from scratch. An arched brick pass-through across from our dining room table was transformed into a beautiful floor-to-ceiling wine bar, with cabinets, countertop, lighting, wine fridge, and cellar wine storage. This wine bar instantly transformed our dining room space from drab to fab. We lightened the paint colors, added a statement chandelier and replaced the dining table and chairs with lighter and more modern pieces. Thanks to Katherine's ingenuity, our dark and drab dining room is now a light, bright, and beautiful space for entertaining. We also gave our powder room a huge face lift, replacing a small pedestal sink with a new built-in vanity. Again, Katherine's guidance and help in choosing the fixtures, countertop, mirror, sink style, lighting and paint helped us transform our small powder room into a fabulous and elegant space for our guests. Finally, near the powder room we added an under-the-stairs storage room with a concealed shelf door entrance. This small room is finished out with tile, paint and baseboard and provides much-needed extra storage. We could not be more happy with this home renovation project. The renovated living and dining areas, our new wine bar, the powder room facelift and our gorgeous new white kitchen have completely transformed the look of our home.
