Support » Plugin: Enable jQuery Migrate Helper » Enable jQuery Migrate Helper doesn’t work in Firefox

  • Hi Marius,

The website is lfphotographics.com. I figured out that the problem only happens in Firefox. If I use Safari everything appears to work fine. I’ve noticed that when I first go to my website in Firefox it appears everything is working, but if I go to another page and go back to the homepage or if I refresh the homepage the Layerslider on the homepage stops working and there is nothing there. I’ve tried turning off the “blocks” in Firefox preferences but that doesn’t seem to fix anything.

I see you’ve got a minification plugin enabled, so you need to regenerate the minified file for the plugin to work, alternatively disable the minification plugin and things should work more reliably 🙂

The plugin you are using for this is wpfc-minified (this is not the plugin causing issues with your site, but it does prevent the jQuery Migrate script from working as intended right now).

Once you’ve disabled that, we’d be happy to assist your further in a support topic, but for now I’m afraid we shouldn’t continue this discussion here, as this is a review and it might become confusing to those looking for a similar issue who may not find it since it’s in the wrong place :)”

Possibly that plugin might be one that my theme uses, but I don’t have that installed in my “plugins” folder.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Since I don’t have any control over this plugin, perhaps you should be speaking with theme-fusion.com, the creators of Avada, my theme.

I’m not sure if Avada is the problem here, honestly.

I do see what you mean with the slider not working as intended in Firefox, as only one image is actually loaded, what is causing this I honestly can’t say, but it may or may not be related to invalid markup on your site, which are causing JavaScript errors.

What strikes me first, is that something is trying to add the HTML meta tags inside JavaScript enclosures, this isn’t valid, and causes errors as the browser tries to run them as code.

They appear to be related to some kind of SEO, as there is meta keywords (these are no longer used, so you can safely stop using them), and google and MS site validation codes, likely used to authenticate your site when setting up Search Console with Google and Bing I suspect.

If you can somehow remove those three entries, that’s what I would do first, just rule out the obvious issues that are showing errors we can see, and we’ll take it from there.

If it’s not possible to remove the entries individually, it may be relevant to look into what SEO plugin (or possibly Google Tag Manager plugin) is in use and adding these incorrectly, and possibly looking for alternatives.

I’m pretty sure Avada is the problem. I found this message on my back end home page which is where the Layerslider in question is located.

    https://lfphotographics.com/wp-content/plugins/fusion-builder/js/fusion-builder.js: jQuery.fn.load() is deprecated”

Since the fusion builder plugin is an integral part of the Avada theme and cannot be turned off there is nothing I can do. You may want to speak with theme-fusion.com and get them to correct this. I already have a support request in at theme-fusion.com for this issue.

BTW, I did all the things you suggested (that I could do) and nothing changes.

Forgot to mention, I’ve turned off all my plugins one-by-one (except the required Avada plugins) and nothing solves the problem.

Well, if you feel you’ve narrowed it down to that specific theme, you should reach out to Avada support.

As you’ve paid for their support, this is the natural thing to do, the plugin authors here have no relation to Avada, and are all volunteers and should not need to handle this interaction 🙂

And please change the 1 star review, if not plugin code then support itself deserves 10 stars.

    🙂

    Cheers,
    Gabriel
