They really saved me after Snovid. We had a burst pipe that caused a ton of damage. They were able to troubleshoot, fix, and clean up everything super quickly, leaving us with running water at a time when it was basically impossible to find help. Can't thank these guys enough.

From the day that Jonathan came to assess the work that needed to be done, it was a good experience. After setting a work date, Jonathan's crew arrived early (7:30). They worked until dark, and practically transformed the property. This is not just my rental property, but the house where I was raised and for a couple of years it has needed a really good overhaul. Since I don't actually live there, the property doesn't get the attention that it deserves. There were tall weeds galore, invasive vines surrounding just about everything, garden weeds as well as trees and shrubs to prune. I was blown away at the job that was done. They did a fabulous job! Jonathan was professional and paid much attention to detail. He was a joy to work with. I am so excited to see my property back to being its well-manicured self again. So glad I thought to go to Angie's List.

Reggie, the original owner I had dealt with in the past died around October 2018. His son, Chad, has taken over the business. I gave him numerous chances, as I realize, he was dealing with a lot. My patience has run out. They were supposed to come on November 9, 2018 but rescheduled for November 12, 2018. The driver was terrible and backed over two sections of my lawn leaving deep ruts, instead of backing up straight on the driveway. He also ran over my drainage system emitter valve. That item is $13.99 and a special order item, which Chad stated he would reimburse me. He assured me the wood was dry, as tested with his moisture meter. It takes four to eight hours to burn one piece of wood. It turns black and smokes. The wood is not dry. I called/texted and complained and he stated they would swap it out. I told him I only needed one or two of my five racks switched out, as the other wood will be dry by next year. He said they would come December 10 and the driver would bring $14 to reimburse me for the broken valve - no one showed. Then it was changed to December 12, and no one came. Chad went on and on how restaurants want green wood for their cooking and smoking. I don't have a restaurant. I want to use my fire place. Then he tried to get me to purchase oak, which he stated was dry. I don't want oak. I like the light scent of pecan. I have green pecan wood which doesn't burn and I can't use. Another vendor I spoke to in the summer, was selling green pecan wood for $380 for a face cord. By rights I should be reimbursed $134. $500 - 380 = $120, plus the cost of the $14 valve. If Chad just wants to deal with restaurants where he doesn't have to dry wood; that's his perogative but he should have told me and I could have purchased my wood elsewhere.

The Wood ShedI called in the morning and discussed price of a 1/2 cord of firewood. Reggie (the owner) answered the phone himself and was very patient and courteous. He asked me what part of town I lived in. He was loading a truck for a restaurant about 5 miles away from me - so we agreed on a price and scheduled the delivery for that afternoon. The driver called me from the restaurant and arrived at my house a few minutes later. A two man team unloaded and stacked the firewood in short order. I have built a couple of fires in my fire pit with the firewood - it burns very well - almost no smoke. I would definitely use these guys again. Reggie also texted me later in the evening to ask how everything went. I appreciated the personal follow-up. I don't expect I will be lucky enough to get same day delivery again - it just worked out this time.- Mary D.

The Wood ShedI thought I needed a 1/2 cord of wood. When I spoke with Reggie, owner of The Woodshed, he described the dimensions of the final stack of wood included in a 1/2 cord. Way more than I needed or had space to store. We agreed I probably needed 1/4 cord. Reggie quoted what I thought was a fair price for pre-split hardwood logs, then told me upfront that the delivery charge -- in addition to the cost of the wood itself -- would be the same as if I were buying a 1/2 cord, making my final cost higher. I asked if I could pick up the wood myself, as I had an appropriate vehicle to do so. He said yes, and that his crew would stack the wood in my vehicle for me. We agreed on a date and time for the pickup, which went very smoothly. I drove the wood home, stacked it in my storage space, and was very pleased with the entire experience. I also noted on The Woodshed's website that Reggie offers wood for outings, campfires, etc. to non-profit organizations at no cost if they call him in advance of the date needed. This impressed me very much, as although it may seem a small and unimportant offer, it helps volunteers at non-profits offset an expense at a time when their budgets all are constrained by the economy.- Ellen M.
