Art did a great job of explaining the issue of the one VCR and made the repairs very quickly. I have some other electronics that need work and I plan on going back to have him look at them as well.

Art is the best! I highly recommend him and will most definitely use him again! I have 3 very high end VCRs ( 2 are Super VHS and the other is a SuperBeta) that are no longer made and can't be replaced. Tapes made on these machines can't be played back on regular VCRs so I had no way to copy any of my old tapes to DVD when these machines all developed problems. I had no idea if anybody could even still work on them, but I found Art through Angie's List and he was willing to take a look at them. Because they are so complex, Art spent a lot of time with each one, but fixed them all perfectly. Sony Super VHS with no picture: turned out to be a broken gear, which Art had to order, but he still had the repair completed in less than a week and he called me when it was ready. Total cost was $95, of which $40 was for the part. Mitsubishi Super VHS would not eject tapes and the tape would break inside the machine: caused by a bad belt. Art had the belt in stock and fixed it while I waited. Total cost was $35. Sony SuperBeta with no sound: caused by a bad component in an internal circuit board. Art had the part in stock. He had to remove the board to get to the bad part and then he got out the soldering iron and removed and replaced it while I waited. Total cost was $50. The prices for each repair included cleaning the heads. Considering the amount of time Art had to spend on each one, these prices are amazing and a real bargain. The fact that I now have working machines to copy my tapes to DVD is worth far more than the total amount Art charged me. Art has the knowledge, skill and equipment to take on the tough jobs that no one else will touch, fix them right and charge incredibly low prices for the services performed. Art completely exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend him for any TV, VCR or stereo repairs.

I called the phone number provided and made an appointment to deliver my VCR to the place of business. The next day I received a phone call that he would be available to check out my VCR and I took it to him. After a few diagnostic checks he discovered the problem and replaced a few small parts which he had on hand. After checking out the unit, I paid him a VERY reasonable fee of about $30 and left. The entire process took only about 30 minutes.

He did a brief look at each while I was there and let me know if he could fix them right away or not. Great service! The VCR needed a new power supply. Once that was replaced a module went bad in another part of it. Art advised it wasn't worth it to keep repairing it. He actually took the parts back out and didn't charge me for them since it was in bad shape. He gave me good advice on the DVD player. I paid $25 for the overview of each. I'm very happy because I didn't waste any money on worthless repairs. Art is a great guy!

I took the VCR in the first time and he found something wrong. It ended up having an additional problem, which he fixed at no charge. He's very knowledgeable at what he does.

He came out and fixed these problem by replacing the circuits inside the circuit board: due to the age of the TV he couldn't just replace the board. While he was there, he stayed a bit longer and hooked up my laser disc player and my tuner, and took the time to explain some features and tips for my TV. He didn't need to do that but I really appreciated it. I thought the appliances were broken, but I just didn't know exactly how to hook them up with my TV. Now I can use both of them just fine. I ended up even giving him a 25 dollar tip because I was so happy with his service. I usually do not tip repair men, but in this case, I thought he definitely deserved it. He really went above and beyond the call of duty. He came on time, and did exactly what he was supposed to do. He fixed the problem totally and gave me a 90-day guarantee on the work. The repairman couldn't take credit cards, which was the only negative part of the experience.

iI know very little about this equipment. Bob showed me how to use it and explained it very well. I appreciate his help very much and will definifely use this company again. He told me technology was moving very fast and it's not unusual for a senior to have problems with it. I appreciated this too.

I have an extensive collection of VHS tapes, which my wife and I still enjoy watching and would be prohibitively expensive to completely transfer to DVD. Before contacting Art, only 1 of my 5 high-end Toshiba consumer VCRs (which, of course, Toshiba had long since stopped supporting and had stopped supplying parts for) were still working. The rest had tape-loading and/or power supply problems and could no longer be repaired by the electronics outfits I had been using. I was mentally preparing to kiss all the VCRs and tapes goodbye as victims of a technology that had long ago made them obsolete! Then, I checked Angie's List, found Art's listing here and read the excellent reviews! I called him, and subsequently brought the 4 dead VCRs to Art's shop. All I had to do was look around at Art's workshop to be convinced that I had come to the right place -- parts drawers, file cases of repair manuals and pieces being worked on from stem to stern! Then, Art began opening up some of the VCRs I had brought and began immediately identifying the specific problems involved, parts needed and probability of successful repair! As we talked, and he explained things, I knew (and told him) that I had the right man for the job! He told me he could make no promises, but he'd do the best he could, depending on what he found. I paid a small Initial Appraisal fee for each machine and left them in Art's hands. Art called back the next morning(!) and told me that he had repaired 3 out of the 4 machines, and the other had a special part inside that was damaged/broken and no longer available anywhere. I came back later that day, picked up all 4 machines (we agreed that we could use the still-broken one to cannibalize for other good parts down the line, if necessary), paid him the additional parts/labor charges (very reasonable!) minus the Appraisal Fees already paid, and left an extremely happy video camper! You cannot find a better person for this sort of work than Art -- I highly recommend him!

Art couldn't have been more helpful. He scheduled my appointment for the very next day. Took my and my TV into his shop and checked it over while I waited. He asked me to call him and let him know the outcome of our suspicions that my problem was with the direct TV hookup did call him and he was sincerely glad that my problem was solved.
