Alex Hay was an outstanding project coordinator. He made the entire process so simple, from the initial presentation to installation. When he shared the proposal, it was really a no-brainer to proceed. With rates so low, our monthly solar payment will be less than our typical monthly electric bill. Saving money, plus running on clean energy and contributing to a greener future – a true win-win! The installation team was very professional, clean and efficient. I really liked using, communicating, and paying with the buildertrend app. I later had a consumption meter installed as well by Yellowlite and would highly recommend it to be able to get the whole picture for your energy generation and use! Icon Solar Power LLCDespite having several large trees in and near our yard, we decided to investigate the possibility of installing solar panels. We were upfront with the companies we contacted that our main concern was viability for our particular site, but also made it clear we would like to do the installation if at all practical. Icon was the most responsive and also the least expensive of the quotes we got. On her initial visit, Rachel, our salesperson, expressed concerns about the trees but said we would get a good estimate of potential electric energy production based on a follow-up site visit. We proceeded to that stage, and based on the estimates decided to install panels on both south-facing and east-facing sections of our roof. Jaye at Icon was particularly good to work with, quickly generating new plans as our thinking progressed. The installation went well, with one notable exception. The wiring through our attic was performed sloppily, with excess cable winding across the insulation and several flexible ducts inadvertently knocked loose from the collector box supplying HVAC to the upstairs. I felt that Icon did not take full responsibility, but the electrician absolutely did, and made things right. In the end, I give him a lot of credit - and also Icon for selecting such a responsible individual to subcontract their electrical work to. We have had the panels for over a year now. We have had no issues with any of the equipment, no roof leaks, and much lower electric bills. Still, production was below Icon's estimate by more than 30%. I would be the first to admit that our situation is more difficult than average to estimate, but this amount of error is surprising and disappointing. It is small consolation that Icon was not the only company to be so over-optimistic. Overall, I think Icon did about as good a job as possible for our situation. I just wish we had a more realistic idea going in what we were likely to get out of the system. [Cost does not include tax credit.]- JIM U.

I found Perry to be very knowledgeable and helpful in determining what caused both of my ceiling exhaust fans in the bathrooms to stop working. He and his assistant Connor were up in the attic unblocking and repairing the exhaust pipes, replacing the two units and a heat lamp, cutting a hole in the ceiling for the new larger exhaust fan in the master bathroom. They cleaned and vacuumed up after the work was done. Perry noticed I had wires behind my home and went through it with a meter and found two places that needed to be addressed. When they were through, I asked him to check my basement electrical box to be sure everything was in order. He found some issues and showed them to me. I asked him to come back and do the work, bring a new fire alert and a kitchen receptacle that wasn't working right. Perry noticed electrical issues other electricians didn't. He is priced fairly, very personable and I asked him to come back yearly and check the vents so they don't blow out the fans again. I was very happy with his service and the end result.

Bates Electric LLC is a local owned and operated company. The good thing about choosing local is that the money that exchanges hands is invested right back into your home town. Bates Electric is a state licensed insured and bonded company with only 2 employees it is small enough to be there when you need them and big enough to do large jobs when needed.

They were on time for the appointment. The expression on the representive's face told me he was not interested in doing the electric job. He was at my home less than 30 minutes. He said "I will send the quote over within 24 hours." The quote was not ever received. Apparently they are also lazy and do not want to work. Just for the record; I contacted 6 different contractors on Angie's List and not one of them sent me a quote, gave me a price, returned my calls and some of them did not even respond to emails.. Angie's List is a hoax in my opinion.

I contacted Arnold's for a new roof after receiving recommendations on the Next Door app. They were fairly priced and very professional. Our job did get pushed back due to weather, but they kept in contact with updates as to when they would be able to begin work. The roofing project manager was very professional and answered all of my questions with quick response, even after hours. The job went very smoothly and they cleaned up the job area nicely. I would definitely recommend this company!
