Monk's Home ImprovementsIt went extremely well. The new door is beautiful and the workers were pleasant to work with. We needed some work done outside around the door, and the foreman gave us a great suggestion which worked perfectly for us. The banister (for our center hall colonial) was very intricate, and the old stain needed to be hand sanded in several areas and was tedious work. The crew did a wonderful job, and the new stain looks great. The family room and trim needed to be refreshed (this is the room the French door was added to) and it looks like a great job. The painters were very professional, and did a great job, including cleanup. We could not be happier with how things turned out.- Mark S.

Flying Colors Roofing and PaintersThis is the third time I have hired Flying Colors ... their work is impeccable. My most recent project involved interior painting although one of my prior projects was for exterior stain and painting. The job could not have gone better. Steve showed up on time to inspect my house and followed up with a clearly written quote. He had a large backlog of work and couldn't start the job for a few weeks which was not a problem for us. He did start the job when promised and was always easy to reach. His painting team (led by Alex) always arrived on time and were extremely careful with every aspect of the job - prep, painting, and clean up. Their attention to detail was incredible - my walls and trim looks like brand new. I don't know of a better painting contractor than Flying Colors.- James F.

Monk's Home ImprovementsI talked with Kurt Becker of Monk's Home Improvements on August 13 about getting painters to refresh the rooms on the first floor of my house as well as the master bath on the second floor. The house is for sale and I was contacting him from out of state as I have already moved. In quick order, he visited the house, sent me an estimate and once I confirmed, he booked a start date of Monday, August 24. The painters used a day to prep and to take wallpaper down in one of the rooms. They painted 4 rooms, two hallways, one bath - including ceilings, doors and trim work and were finished by Friday, August 28. The house looks terrific and we are so grateful to Kurt and Monk for their prompt response and quick completion of the job - and especially for working with me long distance. JBL HOME IMPROVEMENTS INCThe project ran smoothly, on time, and on budget. Dave and his team were professional, clarified issues before they became problems, and left no loose ends. The project involved the demolition of existing built-in cabinets and a massive, green-tiled shower that was designed with one purpose in mind - growing mold. We increased the footprint of the 10x11 sq ft room by reclaiming space from an adjacent oversized walk-in closet, which made a perfect alcove for a new free-standing tub. The tile installation was done to perfection, and the installation of all components, including the neo-angle door was completed without issue. To their credit, the team helped us isolate a crack in the new Kohler toilet and installed the replacement part without complaint. We're looking forward to working with JBL on our next project.- Marc H.

JBL HOME IMPROVEMENTS INCThe team from JBL was fantastic. We started with a simple project to remove stairs that were in our kitchen that led to a den which we were now making a closet and moving the entrance to our master bath. That led to us redoing the master bath, the bedroom, the kitchen, the closet, etc. Every time we added on, it was not an issue. From construction, to flooring to tiling to painting, every worker that entered the house was excellent and professional. I referred JBL to a good friend of mine after.- Bill H.

These people are AWFUL and completely wasted my time, I claimed the 8 hour deal 7/13/2021, and told them I had one tall wall that needed to be repainted the same color, they insisted on coming out and giving an estimate, we scheduled for the next day 7/14/2021 at 12:00pm, at 12:50pm they were a no show, I called and they said “you are scheduled for 4:00pm, I knew that was untrue, because my daughter just had a baby and I plan on being at the hospital by then, and the hospital stops taking visitors at 8:00pm, I said “are you sure you will be there by 4:00pm?” and explain that my daughter just gave birth and the hospital hours, they said yes we will be there at 4pm, it’s 4:50pm they are a no show and they didn’t call or answer when I called them, why, why, why are people in this industry so awful!?!?!? A simple phone call could have prevented this entire issue!

The company has been servicing the Westchester County for 18 years. There are currently two employees, but more are contracted to work depending on the size of the job. We get 30% down payment, 50% when the job is half complete and the final 20% when the job is done.

I rate A&A to be the best of the best. My 75 year old house not shines with the work of this company. They paid particular attention to detail and completed the job to my satisfaction. All concerns were promptly addressed. I would use them again and would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs exterior painting. I will use them in the future to do the interior of my home.
