Whiteford Grading & Paving IncThe experience was awesome. Whiteford Grading normally does large roads and new home development but with work slowed down they're doing driveways, demolition, home-site leveling, pool hole digging, tree hole digging, etc. They gave me very personal attention, brought by large equipment to get the job done right, showed up on my schedule, and even through in a stump removal for free.- Ben C.

Lamb Asphalt MaintenanceThe pricing was fair. They showed up when they were supposed to and they did what they were supposed to. The quality and service were good.- Mollie M.

J P LANDSCAPING & DESIGNExcellent job performance, I should say. I am very satisfied with the timing, the work, and the quality of the work from J.P. Landscaping. I have already recommended them to my family and friends because of the excellent job they left at my home. I wouldn't have traded the experience for the world and would definitely recommend them to everyone.- SHARON R.

Noriega Masonry & ConcreteTheir company representative, "Everado Leon". Came by as to set up to provide an estimate. Followed through with a complete layout of the work required. Then brought in a team to do the work in one day. Just as he said, they could as soon as we had our HOA approval. Fabulous Experience and work ! Thanks Angie's List ! Without Angie's List we could NOT get anyone to follow through with an estimate. Always left high and dry or could not reach by phone.- Steve S.

Excel Concrete & CoatingsWork was done on time and done well. A few pavers showed white spots after 30 days or so. Excel returned to apply a third coat on those spots. No charge. Very professional.- John W G.

J & J ENTERPRISES INCOur cul-de-sac was last seal coated 6 years ago (by Lamb Asphalt Paving $3,096 to seal cracks & seal coat) and was becoming quite cracked & worn. I got bids from 3 companies. (The 4th company, Sunland, who bought out Lamb, their sales rep did not show up for our appointment, nor did he call me. No longer being considered!) So I got bids from Affordable, Precision, and J&J Asphalt. Similar prices, within about 15%, but J&J was the least expensive. I usually do not go with the least expensive bid, but in this case, they also seemed to be the best choice. Their sales rep Bruce was the most prompt & least "hard sell". All seemed to be good companies; all had good references/previous jobs I could view; although after researching it all thoroughly, J&J's seemed superior. All seem to use the same materials, although dilution rates will vary depending on the way they apply it. So rather than spray coating, or 1 squeegee & 1 spray coat (Precision), the 2 coats of squeegee coating (J&J) seemed to provide the best coverage, & hopefully the best longevity. (All companies say their way is best, but from what I could figure out, spray coating leaves a nice uniform appearance, but is a diluted/more watered down product.) So I hired J&J, & they scheduled the job promptly. Blew off the dirt & debris. Sealed all cracks 1/4 inch or larger with hot rubber crack sealant. Applied 2 squeegee coats of asphalt emulsion. They were very mindful of not having sloppy edges/run-off like our previous contractor had done & not cleaned up. So I was very happy with the results, as were all my neighbors. A nice, clean looking seal coat, which appears to be thicker, and hopefully better, than the last time we had it done for almost twice the price. Although a lot has changed with Las Vegas contractors price-wise since before the real estate crash, it was really great to get such a good and fair price quote, and to also see a high quality job done! One caveat---I must say that their office staff did drop the ball a couple of times with some bad typo's on the contract, and I had to ask 3 times for a receipt/lien release before I received it. That was a little annoying, but nothing that would ever prevent me from hiring J&J Asphalt again! Their workers do a great job & our cul-de-sac looks better than it ever has! There are a lot of companies called "J&J, but they are J&J Enterprises Services, Inc, 5920 W. Cougar Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89139, 702-361-2914. And I highly recommend them!- Diane H.

Sealed With A KissDue to the spring weatherit took them a little longer to get to the project than originally anticipated, but I can't fault them for that. They first brush cleaned my driveway, then sealed all the cracks (and there were many) with a hot tar emulsion. After that, they seal coated the driveway with another hot tar emulsion using squeegees. I have had my driveway sealed before with a spray, and I think I can safely say that this is vastly superior to the spray coating. It's a much thicker coating and looks like it will last ; years longer than the previous resealing did. Cleanup was great; there was nothing left behind to show that they had been there, other than a red flagged tape across the front of my driveway.- ALLAN H.

AMERICOTE COATING SYSTEMS INCObtained 3 quotes for several jobs to resurface hard surfaces in back and front. John (owner arrived to quote project on time, and had color swatches with him (the only one of the 3 who brought swatches for the quote). He measured and we talked about options to do the work. Quote included my color selections for all projects...so we were ready to go as soon as I selected this company! Scheduled the job in stages, back patio first to repair/reseal existing cool deck coating, which would take 3 days and not requiring that I be there. First day was power washing to remove any loose surface product. Second day was patching with cool deck texturing. Third day was 2 coats of sealant with the color I selected. They put paper up around all house walls and path lighting to protect from spray. After job was done, I noticed that one area had a different color than the others. They came back and sprayed that area again, explaining that sometimes the sealant is absorbed more in parts of concrete. The additional spraying took care of it! I will be using this company for the rest of projects in front patio and walkways, which is more repair of existing cool deck, and then covering a stamped concrete slab with cool deck in a coordinating color. I REALLY like cool deck, it does reduce the surface temperature so you can walk on your hard surfaces in desert summers, and is available in attractive colors!- Marcea R.

We used Fairless Homes to remodel our home over a two-year period. We started with removing the prefab tub and shower. The result was so nice it made everything else look shabby and dated. We followed with other major projects like the kitchen and all the flooring. We just finished the master bathroom. We removed a wall in order to make the shower larger and replaced the vanity with custom cabinetry and quartz countertops. A new wall was designed going into the bathroom with a pocket door for privacy. The result is a bright, clean and modern look that we are thrilled with. Each project was finished on time with minimal disruption to us. The owners RJ and Donna were so nice to work with. This is a company that still believes in doing quality work for a fair price. They believe in treating the clients with honesty and integrity. I highly recommend Fairless Homes for any remodeling project big or small.

Not well at all. They were too busy on the day they were supposed to come, so came the next day. Did just an ok job of cleanup but also cut 2 drip lines in the process. But Most importantly, they melted my artificial turf in 6 spots of the yard. After sending them multiple pictures and videos they claimed it was am 'act of God' and melted by the sun. Keep in mind I have had this turf for 2 years and never an issue, now I hire some work, and the same day the sun 'melted' my lawn in 6 perfect round holes in my yard!??? Crazy. The owner Stephanie said they would do nothing to assist in the issue as it clearly was not caused by her crew. Such a bad experience, such a bad company.

Horrible is not a bad enough word for this company! Don't EVER use them. Today is 13 months since the dryer fire took place. The downstairs condo is livable but still has many things they need to come back and fix and it's been 3 months since they've shown up. The upstairs unit is still not livable. The workmanship is EXTREMEY poor, from the paint to the grout, to the cabinet installation, granite installation, etc. They have cut corners, not installed new items per the insurance contract, etc. Their workers don't appear to have any experience at all. We were stuck with them because the HOA/Property Management company hired them. This job was only to redo the inside of two condos from the sheet rock in. It should have been a 4-month job, and it has been 12 months since they signed the contract. STEER
