Sidewalk was raised by tree roots 2 inches and had I one broken section. In steps, they removed the old concrete, removed tree roots that raised the sidewalk, placed the concrete forms, poured+ finished the concrete and lastly, moved the forms. The steps were based on other work CB Concrete was doing. The workers were knowledgeable and did the work in a profession manner.

Highly recommended! We had Central Coast & Bay Concrete pour a 19’x13’ pad for a shed/workshop recently, and could not be happier with the results. Specifically: - Pricing was very competitive. I really received the value I was hoping for. - Communication was great. Easy communication via text and email to schedule the work, contract done online, and quick responses to any questions. - The guys really care about their work. The pour was on a Friday, and at 6pm the guys continued to hang around to let the concrete firm up some more to put a final trowel to it. It honestly looked great to me but they wanted to wait to go over the last section one more time, even when I told them they could take off. I was really impressed. - They took great care with cleanup. The work area was immaculate when they were done, they spread clean dirt against all edges, removed all the scrap, and sprayed down our entire existing patio (even where they did not work). Again, they really cared about their work. - The final pad is awesome. It is perfectly level, the joints are straight and super pro looking, and the final finish is great. I could not be happier with the result, and almost feel badly that my new shop will cover it! I am really happy with the work done at my house and will go to these guys first for any project I have. I have already recommended them to close personal friends of mine. Highly recommended!

Motto Construction
Our concrete patio has severely spotted. Motto Construction told us it was because of a bad concrete mix when the patio was originally layed. The contractor showed up on time every day. They acid washed the concrete the first day. The second day they applied the first coat. When we came home, we noticed that cracks in the patio were now glowingly obvious because of the color of the resurfacing compound. We discussed it next day when the contractor arrived. They applied a flexible concrete caulk to the cracks before applying the second coat. It came out beautiful. No cracks. No spots.

RIGHT AWAY CONCRETE
Second truckload of concrete was delivered "hot". Order by customer required that second truckload of concrete was suppose to include recover agent to slow down the cure process for stamping. However the concrete cured twice as fast as the first load which had no recover agent. The concrete was to be stamped but the concrete was already curing and by the time the stamping was done the concrete was cracked and with very little visible stamp image. The finishers were very upset and could not figure out why the concrete mix was so poor. We asked Mike Hendrickson who is the manager to please stop by our house to take a look at the bad concrete. It took 2 weeks for Mr. Hendrickson to stop by our house. Then Mr. Hendrickson blamed the bad concrete on the weather. Poor excuse in our opinion. Weather was low 80s and not windy. The first truckload had almost twice the amount of concrete and turned out fine. The second concrete pour was so bad that we had to tear it out and redo the work and the worst part is that we could only use Right Away Mix because we had to match the color! We had hoped that at least Mike Hendrickson would agree to pay for the concrete mix only but that did not happen. We feel that the quality of concrete was bad and that Right Away is unresponsive. In addition to the bad concrete mix they were also short on the second load by .5 cubic yard and they made us pay for it! Best to stay away from this concrete company. They are not professional and do not care about their customers.

Paul and his crew tore up and replaced our cracking driveway with stamped concrete and put down walkways on both side of it, one leading up tot front door and other to the backyard gate. The front door walkway design was mine and probably ended up being more complicated in terms of its execution. I was going for the modern look. I dont think I got 100% what I wanted for that, but those kind of steps and walkways probably need to be built differently than pouring concrete - may be with prefab concrete slabs. Anyway I am reasonably happy with it and once the landscaping around them mature in a couple of years it would be fine. We also chose two different colors for the driveway and walkways which adds to the cost and I am not sure it was worth it. Paul is a very professional and particular individual and for every change order he documents the changes, reprices things and makes sure everything is signed and agreed. Even though I like a more informal style of working which I have experienced with my other contractors, but I totally understand his point. I am sure he wants to make sure he does not get burnt in the end. He and his crew were very punctual. He was there most days to supervise the work personally. His prices are somewhat on the high side. But if the quality of the work holds it is worth it. It has been over 6 months now since they finished the work. There is one hairline crack on the main steps of the front walkway. But that is unavoidable based on what others have told me. In general the quality of the work has held up well so far. My only advise would be plan your design well and think through all the options you want before you price it and /sign the contract and it would go just fine.

I called him a week ago last Thursday and the demo started last Monday and was completed that Wednesday.I'm a tough customer and the patio was a tough configuration.The job was EXACTLY what I wanted. Recent Review: These guys are VERY busy... Eli and Moran (pronounce Moe-Han) are straight shooters and probably more NY than SF in terms of style, but they are veryknowledgableand honest about their work. They can control a lot of the costs because they have their own painters, electricians, plumbers as workers - not as subs - this is great from a timing perspective for getting the job done and the liability for work - you know who is responsible for repairs. They also do the design work on the kitchens / bathrooms so you don't have to go outside. Our initial meeting was pretty interesting as we each had to learn about communication styles and determine how we would/could communicate with each other if they were our contractor. The only drawback with them is that they do have specific design ideas and - while they maybe valid - their style makes them come off as pushy vs informative (for example the use of stamped concrete vs pavers for our back yard or stucco vs siding for the back of our house - these rest is siding they suggested stucco for the expansion). Their estimate was very detailed but did leave a lot of room for questions about materials, etc... definitely a two step process - and maybe three. We did not end up using them, but they were a strong consideration and our #2 choice.
Super Service Award Recent Review: First of all- ?Kudos to Julie T and the Black Diamond team! ? An awesome job!! We quoted our project to several paver companies but we selected Black Diamond. Why? ?We were very impressed by the design concepts, product suggestions and costs that were presented by Julie T and Black Diamond pavers. ?Julie had a sensor of humor and was accommodating to our requests and changes and kept the costs competitive . ? Our concept drawings from competitors were hand drawn and lacked clarity- Julie provided a color CAD model with all details and itemized costs. Our job? ?We had ?larger job that consisted of ?driveway removal and replacement w/ pavers, and then removing multiple concrete patios on the side and back yard and also replacement with pavers. Start to finish, 4.5 weeks. The team at Black Diamon dug out, and seated 10" of gravel and then 1" ?of ?sand with pavers on top- ?all of this is done on top of a geo barrier to prevent sinkage. ?The team ran under ground chase lines (for future sprinklers and electrical). ? Yes, it is a messy process, but the BD paver team kept the site clean and well organized. ?Julie was key to our success, she stayed on top of our job with multiple visits during construction, and any (minor) issue we brought up were quickly and professionally dealt with. Our driveway is gorgeous and gets plenty of compliments from our neighbors. ?The new patio in the back is the center of entertainment and now a family gathering area. ?Yes!! ? Without question, ?we would call and/or refer any work to Julie and the Black Diamond ?team ?for any future paving?projects.

Recent Review: We were so excited to have the job done. Babylon Gardens gave us the design in mid October and started a few days later. The tore out our old patio and installed a pergola a nice one and a new stamped concrete patio. They also did our sprinkler system and drought tolerant plants. Love the colors, just a right blend with the green shrubs. The workers and Ron were very polite. I'm happy.
