Josh and Robert provide top quality service and are incredibly good at what they do! We've had them install a new kitchen faucet, a new garbage disposal, and a wooden privacy fence. Each project has been done flawlessly and efficiently and they are always on time. Their prices are reasonable as well. They are very friendly, nice guys! We will continue to hire them for other projects that we have around our home and would recommend them to anyone!

Robert and Josh provided me with a quote for my sidewalk and step repair. On the agreed upon day, Robert showed up on time, performed the work, and made sure that I was satisfied with the job. Finding people who care about their customer and have a good work ethic are difficult to find. I will use K & G Remodeling again.

These guys have an incredible work ethic. They started the job early to be an incoming storm. The rains came and they worked throughout. Also they are easy to talk to and respond quickly.

What is the screening process that Service Professionals go through in order to become members of the HomeAdvisor network?

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.

We perform this screening when a business applies to join our network and, if the business is accepted, once again every two years following — or whenever concerns are brought to our attention. We're committed to maintaining a network of trusted home service businesses, and those who don't meet our criteria will be rejected or promptly removed from our network.

Criminal Background Check

We use a third-party vendor to conduct criminal background checks on the owner/principal of each business*. This background check includes a search for relevant criminal convictions through a national criminal database and the sex offender database.

Licensing

We verify any applicable state-level licenses, and we require every business to attest that they carry the appropriate local licensing to practice their trade.

Identity Verification (Social Security Number)

HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number of the business owner/principal to confirm their identity. (This applies primarily to small businesses.)

State Business Filings

If a business states that it's registered as a corporation or limited liability company, we confirm that the company is in good standing in the state they're operating in.

*Corporate Accounts

Some service pros are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, you may be matched with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate service professionals. The above screening process is not applicable to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate service professionals.
