American Home RemodelingWe contracted with American Home Remodeling for a top-to-bottom gut remodel of the second floor of our 100-year-old home, and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. The new space is now our favorite part of the house! Scott and Nick (a father-son team) and their crew of trades specialists did high-quality work at fair prices. Throughout the project, they were great communicators and treated us and our house with complete respect. They kept a tidy worksite, and they showed up and departed at agreed-upon times. These guys are very knowledgeable, and they were always willing to explain things to me and answer my questions without talking down to me or making me feel stupid. They explained their thought processes, decisions, and methods along the way, leaving me very confident in the finished product. I never had to wonder what was going on with the project, because Scott and Nick (and in some cases even some of the trades guys) were available by text message, email, or phone to provide updates and answer questions. When issues came up – as they inevitably do with this kind of project in a house as old as ours – they clearly communicated the issue and came with a range of possible solutions. (They also worked very hard to keep our project safely moving forward even amidst all the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic.) When we faced decision points, Scott and Nick would share their opinion without being pushy. I always felt like the final choice was my call. All along the way, Scott and Nick worked hard to save us money: bargaining down rates from subcontractors, shopping around for better prices on materials, making a longer drive to purchase something at a lower cost, etc. This allowed us to spend up on things we really valued and even expand the project to take care of some other things outside the original scope. AZ PaintingAlan Zuberbuehler of AZ Painting has been my go-to painter for 33 years. Most recently, in May 2021, he and his crew painted nearly the entire interior of our home. I have never worked with a better contractor of any type. For starters, AZ Painting far exceeded the basic requirement of doing a really good paint job. In fact, it was flawless. More important, Alan is a really nice guy. Doing quality work is not easy, but many people can pull it off. Alan is one of a very few who also make you proud to know him and happy to have had him do work in your home. This is exemplified by the fact that one of the two people on his crew has worked with him for more than 20 years, and that the other has been with him for nearly as long. You don't generate that kind of loyalty without being a pretty good boss. We contacted Alan in late April to ask if he could give us a quote for painting the interior of our home in anticipation of listing it for sale. He responded in a timely manner, and came to our home on a Sunday to look at the scope of the work. Knowing that we wanted to get the work done as quickly as possible, Alan provided us a price quote, and had already contacted some of his other committed clients and gotten their permission to delay their jobs so that he could accommodate us. AZ Painting was at work in our home the next day. They arrived when they said they would. They worked efficiently and professionally. They were happy, friendly, and polite. They were considerate of our feelings about masking up when we were at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. More than once, a member of the crew stayed late in order to finish a particular part of the job so they could work more efficiently the following day. They used high quality paint. They took pains to protect our floors from damage. When they left at the end of each day, our home was completely usable but for the very small area set aside for their paint and gear. Alan usually stayed later than the others in order to organize materials and to plan the sequence of work for the next day. For this level of service and quality of work you could easily expect to pay a premium price. Not so. The cost of the work was perfectly reasonable. More important, the cost of the work was exactly what Alan had quoted us.- Rodd H.

Jose and his employee Juan did an excellent job on taping and sanding my upstairs addition. And I am a very picky person when it comes to these things. They taped and sanded my whole upstairs addition in one week! Thats 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living room / rec room, hallway, stairway and closets in every room. Everything turned out flawless!! He even fixed the inside corners in a bedroom and bathroom i already started, to make them straight with a special mudding tool. Jose is an awesome person and he will always do good work for you. I even trusted him home when my family and I went out for dinner and he even contacted me when he was leaving. His schedule timing for when he says he will be there is dead on perfect. his pricing is very reasonable. I'm going to be hiring him again in the next couple of months!
