Holman's Quality Plumbing
Repairman came to the house, assessed the situation, repaired the downstairs toilet, and explained that the upstairs toilet needed to be replaced because of a crack in the ceramic. He recommended some particular brands of toilets and indicated that he would come back when we had selected one. When the selection was made he picked up the toilet, installed it, and took the old toilet away. Work was very professional and he cleaned up after himself. Price was a little more than I anticipated, but it was fair for the materials and the amount of work that needed to be done.

To set this record straight, this happened eight months ago. The reason this review is so tardy will become obvious. We called Neighborhood Plumbing, they sent a plumber who augered the toilet. That did not work, however in the process, he gouged the toilet bowl enamel. He then said that the problem was probably somewhere in the line and he would need to remove the toilet at a cost of $200 to auger deeper. We said that we were thinking of a new toilet, so we thought we would wait until we had decided on a replacement. (That also had a bearing on our not really caring about the topic let bowl gouges at that time). We have lived with the toilet occasionally not flushing until last month. I mentioned the problem to a friend and that we were looking at a new toilet. He said "have you checked the chain on the flapper to see if it was opening the flapper enough." I did, took a couple lengths out of the chain and voila! The toilet flushes perfectly. We called Neighborhood told them about this and that their plumber gouged the surface of our toilet. We were told the manager would call us. That was last week. No call. Two issues here, a marginally competent plumber and more grievous, blowing off a customer complaint. Now, they will probably respond, offer something, but you know what, that's because they got a bad review, not because they care. If they did, they would have called and I wouldn't be writing this review.

Recent Review: When we had tile put in the bathrooms the toilets had to be removed. Hill Country came right over and the workers were good, clean cut, men. They got right to work and they cleaned up after themselves. We had no problems at all.

Recent Review: These are some of the most dedicated people to work with. I was confident at every moment that I was dealing with people I could truly trust to take care of my appliances and charge me fairly.
Recent Review: The company was very prompt and helpful in setting up an appointment for after 5:00pm (I work til 5:00). Two very nice young men (Cody and Brian) were waiting for me when I got home from work. Although they had most of the required replacement parts with them, they had to make a trip to Lowe's to get another part. They showed no annoyance at having to stop their work to do this. The entire time they were there they were very polite; they didn't even mind my dog being present! I will definitely call them again should the need arise.
Recent Review: I've used this service several times before and have been quite happy with the outcomes. This time I had problems getting their representative to establish a date for the work. Contacted the owner (a retired police officer with whom I had dealt before) and was put on their schedule. I provided him with a list of my work projects in advance. The first two or three times I used this handyman service, the owner or his representative came out to look at my projects and gave me an estimate. Now, I just send them a list and trust their pricing which has usually been quite fair. This time, two fellows came out, one of whom I knew from previous sessions. They got held up in traffic and were late, but called to let me know they were on their way. They had been provided with a list of the projects, and I toured them through the house to locate each project. They went right to work, including one of them making a run to the hardware store for supplies. Brought their own tools and some supplies, e.g. nails, did the job as I wanted it, and cleaned up after themselves. All the workers from Anything Around the House who have worked on my home have been pleasant, competent, and professional in a casual sort of way, i.e. no uniforms but neat working clothes. They also seem very trustworthy.

Super Service Award Recent Review: I had an American Standard toilet that had been inhabited by a ghost; it would randomly refill its tank when no one was looking. Gary, the Exorcist Plumber, and his sidekick Kevin, were at my house within an hour after I called. They assessed the problem (leaking flapper-thingy) and gave me estimates on both repairing the existing toilet or replacing it entirely. In an effort to avoid a re-infestation of plumbing poltergeists, I opted to have the toilet replaced. They proceeded to procure a new toilet and completed the installation within 3 hours from when I had initially called them. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I would say that you can't go wrong when you're On The Right!
