Purchasing a unit is the easy part but there are so many steps involved in assessing, preparing, finding the right masonry and plumbing support, etc. in advance of actual installation. Quarry Hills Plumbing & HVACvery well - it was a bit of a drawn out process, since we had to have inspectors involved, but Natalie waited here while I had to go run an errand. Bill knew what he was doing and it's been working great! A couple years ago i had them come out and look at the air conditioner. They did a through inspection and couldn't find anything wrong. Baker Elman PlumbingBaker Elman has been absolutely great ever since I started using them. Dealing with them is a pleasure. They're not like other plumbing companies I've used in the past. It's a family business and they really seem to care. They return calls, show up when they promise, call if they'll be late, bill per their estimates, etc.?all the things you'd like any business to do but contractors and tradespeople so often don't. They are also very good at what they do. David Elman is an extremely experienced master plumber, very knowledgeable. He listens carefully and is generous with his time to help figure out what to do to solve problems. His other plumbers seem excellent as well. His wife seems to run the office and she is uncommonly pleasant to deal with. They all are. I actually look forward to having them in my home (though not the problems that sometimes bring them here!). Among other work, they performed a complex installation of a freestanding gas heating stove. I was impressed by the careful attention to detail to make sure the project went smoothly. They were also suitably attentive in their dealings with the local building officials to avoid problems on that front. I give them the highest recommendation.- BILL S.

Boston's Best ChimneyMatt did the inspection and made a recommendation. He was very professional and clear in his explanations. It was not clear at first which size liner would fit our chimney, but his initial recommendation proved correct. He and his crew did a very good job and left the place clean. The price was half of what others had estimated, but he used state of the art materials, and seemed very familiar with the installation process both down the chimney and providing good hook ups for the heating equipment.- Mike G.

I have had numerous people work on the fireplace and chimney over 40 years and none of them were as good as The Fireplace Guys. They laid down tarps not just in front of the fireplace, but all the way to the door! The sweep they performed before installing the fireplace was the best ever. Made an appointment by clicking a link on Facebook. It was very convenient and easy to use. Steve im'd me right back to confirm the appointment. He was a bit late, but had im'd me 1st thing in the morning to let me know. he diagnosed the issue in 5 minutes and fixed the issue. He cleaned the unit, tested for carbon monoxide, picked up his equipment, and was gone within an hour.

The project went really well. The replacement took one day, and the new furnace runs great. We also split one zone and had a hydronic heater installed in our kitchen. We could not be happier. Also, in inspecting every radiator, we found one radiator with a leak and one valve that needs replacement. Glad these company is thorough.

I hired Joe to install a master bath. He was great to work with, showed up when he said he would, did great work (always with a good-hearted laugh along the way), and was very fair in his pricing. What, I think, separated Joe from the rest was his willingness to be so helpful, even above and beyond what was contracted. He was always available to answer my questions and give advice, he stayed until the job was done, offered additional help when needed, and was generally just a pleasure to work with as an all-around good guy. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of and I will definitely consider hiring him again for future work. He was dependable, fair, courteous, reliable, and showed a great sense of humor which made the process a lot more pleasant.

I had tried to bleed the air out of my hot water baseboard system, and apparently have no idea what I'm doing and overpressurize my system to the point it popped the gauge off and stopped working. Called John, and he was there in short time, fixed all the damage I cause, actually taught me how to do things right, and was very fair about price. It's not often you find a plumber that responds, arrives quickly, does a great job, and is honest about price and helps you understand your system, even if it means that's less calls for his service. I would recommend him to anyone, and is the only plumber I'll call.
