Curtain Installation in San Francisco

This was one of the most positive and smoothest experiences I've had in dealing with folks on remodeling projects. Draperies by Susan is a top-notch outfit with professional, competent, and reliable staff. It's one of the only times where my request was carried out exactly to my specifications. The results were exactly as I had envisioned. Really beautiful work! I love it.

THE VALANCE FOR OUR WINDOW WAS MADE IN THE INCORRECT SIZE AND WRONG COLOR. WHEN THE ERROR WAS BROUGHT TO HIS ATTENTION, THE VALANCE WAS REMADE IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS VERY GOOD.

The curtains was beautiful and was almost perfect, the only thing that was not good was installation was done hastely, but Jack Alter was very responsive and was able to resolve the installation problems very quickly. Always kept in touch with me, very communicative. This curtains had sheers in it, that made the curtains cost much, that's why the price was high.

PAINTING: Russell was meticulous in the painting project. All the edges were clean and finish was smooth. CURTAIN RODS: Russell fixed my curtain rods to hold the weight of my curtains. They are very solidly in place. Job well done!

I have a historical home and they did draperies in eight windows. They did the work in a timely fashion. I have received a lot of compliments on the work that they did. They had removed the carpet, installed tile in the kitchen, and new carpet through out my home. I was pleased with the work that they did.

She has very good ideas to offer. She has been doing this for a long time and really knows her work. She was able to find fabric that looked great and saved me money without compromising quality. I would definitely use her again.

I would give them a high ranking. Their website doesn't say they do shutters, but they do wood shutters. They are very helpful, they do the job in a timely manner and they give you a lot of options for window treatments. I enjoyed working with them. The products installed are very good.

I am very pleased with the drapery factory. I called to get an in house estimate, and Dee was here soon after the call. He was extremely knowledgeable, and came with fabric samples using the color I said I preferred. Dee knew his fabrics well, and after a look around the room, suggested a fabric that was perfect! Then we discussed style, and he was very responsive to my suggestions. We talked for some time, but it wasn't business talk. Dee, my husband and I were talking about our lives and living in the Bay Area over the years, making the "business" aspect of the conversation a very pleasant visit. After writing up the order and taking a 50% deposit, we were told it would take 4-6 weeks for making the drapes. Then his drapery hanger came. The drapes, along with all needed hardware (rods and a board "frame" for the valence/swag) went up within 2 hours. My only concern was with the timing of the installation visit. William, a "sub contractor" for Drapery Factory had phoned my when the drapes were ready, and after I forgot to call back, he called me and we sent up a day and time. I don't know if I misunderstood the time, which is possible, but my husband and I had to wait for some time. Then when I finally called, I was told he said the time would be between the hours of 10 and 12, not at 10 which was what I recalled he said. He did not get here until after that time, but as I said, the problem may have been my misunderstanding. He went right to work when he got here, and did such a good job, I was no longer concerned about the time confusion. I was too pleased with the drapes.

Dee Brown was the sales man. He came and took the measurements and helped me pick out the fabric. Will Doll came and installed it once it had been made and it looks very nice. They were easy to work with and it fits the window perfectly.

They were very good. They were timely. I liked working with them because I wasn't sure about the design I wanted and they didn't pressure me. I plan to work with them again soon.

Very high level of professionalism and good cheer. My only reservation is that I noticed a black smudge on the white curtains after Gary left--if he saw it, he did not bring it to my attention. But perhaps he did not notice it. It's my sense that he is committed to high quality and excellent work--and he does his very best to deliver both of those.

When I first saw the beautiful drapery panels offered by Half Price Drapes at a very reasonable price, I was very impressed and eager to have them provide draperies for several rooms in my new home. But, from the beginning, their customer service was a disaster. I started my process in about May and didn't get my drapes until January. I lost many months just chasing down the woman who came to my house to measure. She just couldn't get her act together to give me a quote. On the rare occasion I could reach her I got responses like "Oh, I forgot all about you!" Week after week I was promised a quote. When I finally got one, I was shoked. It wasn't what we had talked about at all. Finally, I talked to a different person at the company who told me that was typical of this salesperson and started over with me. I ordered my drapes with guaranteed delivery by Thanksgiving, but did not receive them before Thanksgiving, or even Christmas and no one would return my calls asking when they were coming. This was a disappointment, but I was still very happy to have them installed just after New Years. That is, until I saw them. The rods are too short to completely cover my windows, the panels do not go floor to ceiling as I asked, but are about a foot short and the hold backs were not deep enough to hold back the draperies properly. This last problem I was able to fix myself, although they charged me for the new tie-backs and didn't credit me for the old ones. It's been a couple of years now and despite my many attempts, no one at this company has ever returned my calls begging for them to get them done right. I am really disappointed. This is one of those projects, that if done properly, would have been a beautiful enhancement to my home, but as it was done, it looks like a DIY project done wrong.

Initial consultation was very easy; sales person had a good design sense and was very careful with the measurements, double checked everything, and explained everything to me. After a few weeks the curtains finally were delivered to the installer but were the wrong size. They had to be re-ordered and took another few weeks to arrive. The installer was able to come out on a Saturday and do the installation of the blinds; this went fine. Only problem is that one of the blinds retraction mechanism is setup opposite to all of the others, and the blinds have a tendency to catch on the window lip. Nothing too horrific. When the installer returned to install the curtains, the curtain rod was way too short, he didn't have the correct hardware, and was missing some curtain rings. Now we're stuck waiting another week or so or all of this to arrive, meanwhile we have curtains stacked on the floor our master bedroom. I called the people at 3day blinds and must say I was shocked at their hostility. This situation is horrible and we've waited far too long to have everything installed. I will never use 3day blinds again and recommend staying away from them. We had used Costco a few years ago at our previous house and had a completely flawless experience.

Two days after assessing the situation, the Windoor fellow brought his tool box and repaired the busted curtain in about ten minutes. $55 for both the service call and the replacement materials. Well worth the price.

INTERIOR DESIGNER CAME TO MY HOME AND WAS VERY HELPFUL IN PICKING MATERIAL AND TYPE OF CURTAIN. LIKED THE FINAL RESULTS VERY MUCH. ORDERED CURTAINS 3 MONTHS IN ADVANCE OF BUSINESS DINNER AT MY HOME. INFORMED THE COMPANY THAT DEADLINE WAS VERY IMPORTANT. COMPANY DID NOT MEET DEADLINE. WHEN DEADLINE WAS QUICKLY APPROACHING IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER OUT OF THEM. UP UNTIL THE LAST WEEK THEY COULD NOT ADMIT THE WORK WOULD BE LATE.

THEY WERE FINE. THE PEOPLE WERE NOT EXTREMELY FRIENDLY BUT THEY DID A GOOD JOB ON SOME VERY COSTLY CURTAINS. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN FOR FUTURE DESIGN.

They are a little expensive. They are very nice and honest. It's definitely worth it. They are great people. The quality and the service they give are great.

See above. No services were performed, except taking of measurements and showing us available fabrics. Providing a verbal estimate for our project is an unsatisfactory way of doing business. In addition, he had refused to take down and dispose of our existing draperies as part of the project.
