Range Hood Installation in San Francisco

Contacting this company is exceedingly difficult. While sales will answer a phone call, pretty much the only way to contact the service center is to walk into the showroom -- and then hunt around for someone that is willing to talk to you. The products are not bad, and when you are able to get their attention, they are very nice and professional. The trick is that they are nearly impossible to get ahold of. Also, the hood I bought from them broke around 6 months after install. I'm still trying to reach them for service.

I purchased a washer, a dryer, Wolf Range, a vent-a-hood for the range and a Miele dishwasher from them. So far they have been helpful with any questions I have about the appliances and have followed up with the distributor for my vent-a-hood because I"m having a noise issue with it.

I was well treated in the showroom. The saleswoman listened to what I said and didn't try to push me to more expensive models.The range hood was on back order, so I had to wait several days for delivery. The only negative was the delivery. It was scheduled to be the first in the morning, but didn't come until 11:30. Apparently, they stopped elsewhere to "drop something off," and things got complicated. I would have appreciated a phone call to tell me there was a problem.

They were very helpful in finding out what we wanted and what our budget was. They delivered what we ordered on time and were very careful of our house while installing the fridge.

The fact that this place does any business at all must mean that customers are encountering some sales person other than Baron Long. I went to Pacific Sales to buy a replacement fan for an older two part kitchen ventilation system.That unit had been discontinued and I had to buy a newer model. After installing the component and new duct work I discovered that the electronics were incompatible. This meant buying a new range hood. Returning to the store with this in mind I approached the person who sold it to me, Baron Long, and was met almost immediately with an aggresively defensive attitude.He said it was the manufacturers problem and I should deal with them. What did I expect him to do? I began to say it would be nice to find a solution, but was resigned to the idea of buying a new range hood. He cut me off in mid sentence saying,"That isn't going to happen", I ordered it and if I didn't like it I could return it, but he would charge me a restocking fee. Needless to say I didn't spend my $1400 there. I went to another dealer in San Rafael (Standards of Excellence). When I described my experience to him he guessed the name of the person I dealt with. He said,"He's a real piece of work, but he has brought a lot of business our way". Also the delivery of the first item was later than promised. Avoid at all costs.

Their salesperson guided us to the best options for what we were looking for and answered all of our questions. It was really professional with no pressure. You put your name on a list for the next salesperson or otherwise they will leave you alone.

We are moving into a new (for us) home that needed replacement kitchen appliances. After researching best prices and brand on the web, we made our product decisions and went to Airport Appliance. Not only did Airport have all the models we wanted available at the time we wanted them, they beat all the best prices we had researched. The installers, Cuco and Eugenio, were prompt and completely professional. They left the appliances installed and tested. They even pointed to a scratch on the new dishwasher, and made sure I noted it on the job completion receipt. Two days later I received a call from Airport's repair contractor, who has ordered a replacement part.

The owner was great. He took time to go through the options with us, and gave us the best deal. Price includes install and purchasing the unit. He was about $500 less than others that I had checked including installation. Moises is also great, and very fast.

They are good. Their prices are not the lowest, but they are not unreasonable either. They have knowledgeable salespeople and they were very prompt.

My builder allowed me to buy directly from McNair's without additional markup after a brief and somewhat heated discussion. I purchased a Viking wood paneled 48'' refrigerator, 36'' range with hood, wok ring and griddle, Maytag s/s dishwasher, Neptune washer and dryer all installed on the same day. Other than initially bringing out the wrong refrigerator, everything was handled well and at a discount from list price.

The saleswoman was pleasant, knowledgable and helpful. Delivery was convenient and all 3 appliances were delivered in one trip for only $50.00 total. The floor model was well wrapped up and all parts and manuals were included in it.

After having looked at the other Atherton appliance and not being very satisfied with the advice I was being giving (which was often contradictory among salespeople), I took the advice of a friend and went to the Original Atherton Appliance on Middlefield. By that point I knew a lot more and knew exactly what I wanted to know. Dave had all the answers and helped me pick out exactly what I needed. Their prices were almost all lower than the quotes I had received. Everything went seamlessly from there. They were even willing to hold stuff for a month until we were ready for it. Delivery charges were reasonable. They recommended an installer to get the fridge in for us (although that was very expensive).

University Electric Home Appliance Center is a local store. They seemed to be knowledgeable about specifics when we talked about range hoods. They showed me several options and took me through several spiels about that. It was relatively similar to everything I read online. I liked that. I disliked that appliances seem to be price fixed these days, but that is an industry problem not something I hold against them.

ALL APPLIANCES IN OUR KITCHEN WERE REPLACED. THE EXPERIENCE WASN'T AS GOOD AS EXPECTED, BECAUSE THE MICROWAVE/HOOD COMBO DIDN'T FIT, AND REORDER WAS REQUIRED. WE WERE ALSO CHARGED FOR A MORE EXPENSIVE DOUBLE OVEN, WHICH WE HAD TO GO IN AND REQUEST A REFUND.

Employees are on time and polite. They do a good job of installing appliances. Salespeople are helpful, friendly, and not pushy.

We call, they provide options & prices (they understand our objectives of reasonable quality & longevity at a low price. Delivery & installation is timely and they do a good job. Their scheduling and promptness is great.
