Recent Review: We wanted to have our master bath remodeled. We contacted several companies and Lone Star State appeared to have a reasonable price for what we wanted to accomplish. The entire bathroom was remodeled except for the flooring. The cost of the service listed above may not include the entire cost as we purchased materials separately thus the final remodel price was more than what is stated. The company started the project on time. There is a on-line calendar system they use to help coordinate the project as to who will show up and when. As well, we used a real estate lock so that they can have access to our home when we were not around. The project started off with the demolition of course and we were impressed with how quickly things went. They do rely on subcontractors but Daren, who coordinated the project, was our point of contact. The project went fine and mostly without issues. My only previous experience with contractors for remodeling was my parents experience in the Northeast. I can say that definitely, Lone Star State beat every single one of those contractors in terms of professionalism, punctuality, honesty, integrity and workmanship by a country mile. In terms of how things went after the initial demo, the most painful part was waiting for the city inspectors and this certainly was nothing Lone Star State could control. In terms of quality of work, they did a very nice job overall in putting together the tiles for things like the backsplash, installing the new vanities and lights, etc. They did have to coordinate things with the some of our other suppliers (the bath counter was installed and purchased from another company as that company wanted to do the installation themselves). Sometimes, this did not always go well as measurements were off and we had to have things re-centered like the vanity mirrors (not Lone Star's fault). However, this is where I think Lone Star State really excelled as they were able to adjust to issues as they came up. Overall, they finished the project on time and were very responsive. Now, if I were to say everything was great and there were no issues, well, then this would not be an honest review. However, no construction project ever goes without issues and believe me, some of the things that happened with my parents home when they employed contractors was quite impressive in a bad way and our issues that came up pales in comparison. First, the issues that came up were relatively minor. However, it is how the company deals with the problems that come up that was key in how we felt about their work. Lone Star State does use subcontractors and sometimes the quality did vary and also in terms of punctuality of some of the contractors. But here is why I would use them again without question. Daren, our coordinator, was a superstar. He responded to my many requests without once getting annoyed and displayed incredible professionalism. If something wasn't right, he fixed it. You could say any problems that appeared, Daren got it fixed as quickly as flushing a toilet. I got to know Daren pretty well and I can truly say, I trust him. I trust that he wanted to always make things go right and if it did not, he would bend over backwards to do so. At the end of the day, we have a great new bathroom that looks great. After the work was done, Lone Star State does give a warranty for one year and Daren was more than willing to honor any minor issues that came up and was extremely response even after the contract was completed. In summary, life is not perfect and any construction project will have bumps in it. However, it is how the company responds to those road bumps and how they treat their customers that is key. Daren was awesome in his professionalism, integrity, responsiveness and overall customer service. Daren responded after-hours, on weekends, whenever and I never had an issue of getting a hold of him. The company delivered a beautiful result in the end that was on time (I think we finished either on time or just a day or two late due to waiting for the city inspectors--again, not their fault). This company does nice work but from a customer service standpoint, Daren exceeded any and all expectations I had. They deliver a nice product, on time and excelled at being responsive to any of our needs. Daren, thank you for all your hard work and answering my calls night and day and delivering a wonderful product in the end.
