St Paul Boiler Heater Repair

Repair seemed to go well. 2 years later scheduled a vist to check the furnace. No one called to say the tech would be late. After 45 minutes I called the office and visit was rescheduled until later in the day. Asked some questions of the tech about winterizing my home. Called recently to ask questions before going on a trip. Man answering the phone was helpful but he was trying to communicate my question to a plumber and then the answer back to me. I requested to speak to someone directly to be sure I understood. Was told I'd get a call. This did not happen.

We called Charlie at 11:00pm for a boiler emergency. He gave us excellent advice and reassured us the boiler would be ok until the morning. Then he offered to come out first thing in the morning. He solved our problem and provided the most professional follow-up service to make sure the problem was indeed fixed. Excellent communication, professionalism, and we are thoroughly pleased. We wouldn't use any other company--- they are the BEST!

We had boiler troubles which resulted in no heat! I called Burnomatic and they were able to send someone out within 15 minutes(they happened to have someone finishing up a call nearby.) The repairman was at my home within 20 minutes of my initial call. The repairman was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. Came in and got right to work. The bill hasn't arrived yet so I can't comment on that, but scheduling was easy and the repairman seemed knowledgeable.

I spoke with Mike Daine from Prescription Heating by phone today to obtain an estimate on a replacement boiler for our home. Within the first minute of our conversation, he asked what city we live in. For installing new boilers (not for repairs), he needs to be licensed in the city in which we live. He promptly found out that we live in St Paul; a city that he is not licensed to install new boilers in. Instead of ending the call after he found out that he could not sell us a boiler, he continued to speak with me for about 15 to 20 additional minutes. He told when what brand of boilers were good brands to buy and why, he told me when was the best time of year to replace a boiler (We don't need to replace ours immediately... so we're flexible), clarified why we're replacing the boiler and if it is necessary to do so, etc. It was very encouraging to me that Mike would be willing to share his knowledge and experience with me even though he wouldn't be able to sell a new boiler to me. I am writing this review so that other potential customers might consider using him (so that a small, very customer friendly business can continue to exist). There's a reason why this business is rated so highly.

THEY WERE INSTRUCTIVE ON LETTING ME KNOW HOW THE BOILER WORKS--ESPECIALLY WITH ME BEING SINGLE WOMAN AND NOT UNDERSTANDING HOW BOILER WORKS. THEY LABELED HOW BOILER WORKS AND TOLD ME ABOUT MAINTENANCE --I WAS JUST IMPRESSED. I HAVE HAD OTHER PEOPLE COME IN AND DONT KNOW THEIR BOILER AND I LEARNED WHAT TO DO. THEY LABELED ALL THE PIPES AND LEFT INSTRUCTION ON BOILER. VERY IMPRESSED. FATHER AND SON OPERATION. WHEN YOU BUY A HOUSE, YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW EVERYTHING WORKS, ESPECIALLY THE BOILER. THEY WERE INSTRUCTIVE ON HOW TO CARE FOR BOILER AND NOT JUST TO REPAIR IT.

Jeff was able to diagnose a problem with my 20 year old boiler and find parts even though the manufacturer is out of buisiness. He warned me after replacing the igniter to monitor the system and sure enough it became apparent there was a second problem. I was not charged visit fees, rather time on the job. I found the rates to be fair and the parts were what I would expect.

Two calls, had to get pump that wasent in truck, which was understandable. Technician explained all issues.

Great! We were up all night calling companies that supposedly offered 24 hour emergency service and were called back promptly by this company and none others. We have 2 small kids and our house was about 50 degrees by the time he came out (about an hour and a half from when we called, again, on a Sunday morning) so we were thrilled to see anyone. He was friendly, worked with my husband and showed him a few things about the boiler and gave us some information on what we will eventually have to do to replace the unit. He fixed it fast and ultimately charged us less for the entire call, labor and parts included, than a different company was going to charge us just to come to our house! (I was able to compare when the other company finally called me back!) We will definitely call them again.
