    I love this because I cannot imagine any QA process, no matter how thorough, that would have caught it "Did you check ALL of the different spider species to make sure none of them inexplicably loved making their webs in it? Are you sure?"

    imagine having to issue a recall because you unintentionally designed a thing that certain spiders go absolutely bananas for for no clear reason at all

    I've been using that workflow to hack on Datasette tools and plugins (see ) and I really like it - wondering if the same flow would actually be a neat way of developing and installing entire Django projects, not just reusable apps

    I call this kind of support group a "cabal" - when you get together with a few people in similar roles to you at other companies and privately swap notes and help coach each other Really effective way of leveling up!

    High level IC (individual contributors) should have a support group. Managing the transition from being “just another engineer” to being a “force multiplier by working through others” is tough. Talking to others that have managed that transition is calming.

    I'm usually not a fan of API reference docs like this because they so often sit alone, unaccompanied by docs that actually tell you how to use the library sqlite-utils already has extensive narrative docs though, which I can link to from the API reference

    Added class API reference documentation to sqlite-utils today, using sphinx-autodoc The project already has detailed narrative prose docs, but since autodoc uses docstrings this was an excuse to firm those up (and add more type hints too) - good for IDEs
