24 Hour Emergency Handymen in San Francisco

Easy. I went to pick out the tile and grout from Import Tile, then Joel put it in. He had to tear out a lot of the flooring which was rotten and sodden. The new underfloor was put down neatly and very securely. The tile work is great. Joel has done a number of small jobs for me in the past as well. Work has always been done neatly and professionally. I'm going to have him do my deck next.

I was selling my townhouse and needed emergency repairs before and after showing. Nicholas came same day I called and fixed bent vertical blind rod. I also had to call after open house to fix damage done by visitors. Again Nicholas came immediately and fixed everything.

Carlos was very responsive and called back immediately vs other handymen services high rated in Angie's list that don't call back unless your job is practically a remodel. Carlos got me out of an emergency where I needed him to come and fix a light fixture in my garage that was falling down almost on my car. He also made sure to stabilize the other fixture. In addition I had him do other smaller jobs around my house like fixing leaks in my showers, fixing my door frames so that the doors closed properly etc. these were things that annoyed me on a daily basis that he fixed and he charged me a very reasonable rate to fix these things after he fixed the lighting fixture. I got quotes from others on similar type projects where they wanted at least $1500 for a job before they even came out which was not what I needed. Thanks Carlos for coming on Sat for my emergency.

Alberto was great. Not only was he the only handyman to answer the phone promptly on a Sunday, but he was prompt in his follow up communication, arrived on time as promised and did a professional job. He was very cordial and comfortable to work with. I would highly recommend him.

It’s one of those calls you don’t want to get in the middle of the night. My tenant called me up at 2 AM in the morning saying a lot of water was dripping from the ceiling into his bedroom. I went to investigate and found water everywhere. I shut the external water cut-off and called Carroll Valcour (aka Val) in the morning. It was Sunday and Val was in the unit 2-3 hours later. I had water leak from old galvanized piping. To prevent future leaks, I decided to replace all galvanized piping in the ceiling (i.e. under the floor of the top unit). Val used Toto’s Plumbing as subcontractor for doing the plumbing (see separate report) and the dry walling and painting was done by Val. Val also completed other handyman related work Overall, satisfactory or “B” experience given that I had an emergency and missing laptop. I would have given Val an “A” except he gets “C” for cleanliness and “F” care for tenant property. The “F” stems from a tenant computer that went missing while the tenant unit was under Val’s care. However, Val paid for that and I have used him again for other handyman jobs.

Brian began work and then we had a long period of steady rain in which he couldn't work. Before he finished his work, i was called out of town for a family emergency and was gone a month. I called Brian and let him know. When I got home, the work was completed.

He's a great handy-man. He's very nice and always polite. He is often busy but will schedule ahead when we can and so I try and "group" items for him to come. He's been responsive with emergency stuff too though.

They are wonderful. This place is great. They will come out within two days. They will come out immediately for emergencies. It is fabulous. He knows what he is doing and he does it quickly. He is not trying to build up time to charge me.

Came out for a late-night emergency handyperson call (a door had fallen off its hinges, and we really needed it repaired right away). He came promptly, did a great job on short notice, and was good-natured and friendly about the late call. We would definitely hire him again.

Mr. Carroll and helper showed up on time and since the paint and other equipment were there they went right to work and did the job quickly and neatly and with cheery attitude. Mr Carroll is always helpful and reassuring which really helps in an emergency repair.

I called him up and explained that it was an emergency. We needed the drywall hung right away. He quoted a price of $85.00 and I offered to give him an additional 20.00 for the emergency. He stated he would not take advantage of our emergency situation. He ended up charging me 200.00 which is extremely unethical. After they finished the work, the painters wanted to know who did the work because the work was very terrible. The painter called him to ask why he used the product he had used because he could not sand the caulking material. The painter also indicated that everyone in the industry knows not to use this caulking for drywall. He ended costing us more money when he said he would not.

Mark was friendly, prompt and responsible. He was the only handyman to return my call within 24 hours. He did our job thoroughly and quickly. I was home packing during the work and Mark was great about working around me, my son and his babysitter. The walls were completely smooth and filled in once the work was done.

This is the second time I've used Detail Painting. The first time they painted a small bathroom, and fixed the drywall and re-painted small patches of the ceilings in the living room and kitchen. Both times they have shown up on time to look at scope of work and provide a quote within 24 hours. They have completed the work within a day, always covering up the furniture and cleaning up afterwards.
