Ace Handyman Services of South Central PAHe arrived punctually and showed me various photos of mail boxes on his smart phone and associated pricing. He subsequently went to Lowes and picked out one. Upon his return he was excited to tell me that he found a mail box cheaper than the one we agreed upon and it had a magnetic door on both ends. He dug up the old mail box and post (with a tool I was able to borrow from a neighbor), concreted in the new post and fastened the new mail box enclosure over the post. He also affixed new address numbers on the post. Looks awesome. He carted away the old post and box. A job beautifully done! Handyman Matters of Harrisburg did a textbook installation: the new post was dug deep enough for the new mailbox to be rock-solid and our new mailbox is straighter than any other mailbox in the neighborhood. The charge for the service was $300 which seemed fair to high, but the quality of the work was excellent. You get what you pay for, which in this case we hope to be a mailbox that outlives our tenure in the house.- Theresa S.

HERSHEY RENOVATIONSHe was efficient. He took extra care to make sure it was correctly installed and leveled and perpendicular. It wasn?t just standard wooden post and metal. He took extra care to make sure that that was installed properly. He had us check it to make sure that it was correct. He was conscientious and took his time in doing the work so that it was done correctly. We also had deck work done by him. We were having the deck power washed and wanted to have it painted. We needed to replace some boards. He got the materials and did it. He did it right away and I think he did a good job. He is a good worker and a hard worker. The mailbox is pretty expensive and he was careful during installation not to bang it somewhere. He had read the directions which is something that is not usually done. Handyman Connection-Palm Beach/GainesvilleA handyman came to our house and gave an estimate for all the things we wanted done. After the handyman left, I decided to eliminate some of the jobs to cut down the cost but it took repeated calls to the company to get another estimate. By the time they got back to me, the original handyman was no longer available to do the job so they sent another guy to do another estimate. Once I signed off on the estimate, the handymen showed up right on time and began working on replacing the fans. I then had to go to Home Depot with them to select the additional needed materials. Unfortunately, they didn't have everything we needed, so a lot of time was spent trying to track down the things needed and driving around to tile stores and bathroom supply & hardware stores. I was happy with the work done, but I didn't want to be spending my time trying to find replacement tiles and shower door parts. A carpet was damaged in installing a thresh-hold, but the handyman got it repaired like new.- Lee K.

Martin and his team at Hartel Construction were beyond amazing. From the very first meeting, my husband and I knew he was the right guy for our job. We were looking to finish our basement and turn it into a family hang out/play space for our child. He gave us a super fair estimate and a start date and remained on schedule/ahead of schedule the entire project. I liked that his payment plan was super honest, as well. Providing payments along the way helps make sure that we were happy, but also giving him assurance to be paid on time, as well. He paid attention to detail, bringing things to our attention, providing suggestions, and answering any questions we had along the way. We did make a few changes to our initial plan, but things kept moving forward without missing a beat. The quality of his work is also exceptional. He made custom built-ins for our son's toys and they turned out amazing. At the end of his job, he did a walk through and paid attention to our notes and comments and at the end of it all, we were BEYOND pleased. The dedication to his work that him and his team have is super hard to find in other companies. There were no hidden fees, no sneaky "additional costs" based on "found" problems. I was given reached out to by this company in regards to by my project. Upon explaining the job to Lisa, I was questioned about why I didn't want the cable company to do the electrical work (really none of their concern). After discussing everything through text, I was told the estimator would be at the home at 1. After waiting for 40 minutes for the estimator to arrive, I texted Lisa asking where he was and she informed me my appointment was at 2 instead of 1. When I sent her screenshots confirming that we previously agreed on 1 and apologized for the misunderstanding. While I indicated it wasn't a misunderstanding on my part she then offered a 10% off our estimate. (which I appreciated the attempt to make it right) After the estimator came, he quickly went through each room, wrote a few notes and wouldn't give me any pricing ideas of what it would cost when I asked. It felt very rushed compared to others that came out. Even when explaining what we would like done and that we were trying to get quotes from multiple companies for comparison so that we would be happy with the quality and price of who we choose, he was asking me questions that really didn't concern him. (I didn't feel that was too professional) The appointment was on Monday, it is now Friday and I have not received any estimate. I reached out to Lisa for an update and was then told that "he" decided to pass on my job. When asked what the reasoning was, I was told "He's too busy and can't squeeze you in anywhere for at least a month". This is sad when last week I asked about availability, the story I received was that they could fit us in before the 29th and would be tied up for 2 1/2 weeks. It was very concerning to me that they questioned me on jobs I would like to have done, why I was getting multiple quotes (or why I didn't get a quote from a handyman I used in the past, which I did and told him that), were late to the agreed upon time for the appointment for estimate and then failed to even communicate that they were going to pass on the job shows me that they are not the right company to do business with. I do not believe they were completely honest with me and I would not recommend for future jobs.
