Recent Review:
My neighbor and I were in dispute about some trees and rose bushes I planted. According to the county plat map, I was well within my property lines. My neighbor hired this survey company and four hours later, they said they'd had trouble finding a pivotal spot on the back line, which determined the property lines, but had found it. What was drawn up and sent to my neighbor and I was the same as the plat map, but what was taped was not; and three of the boundaries were not even measured or taped to ensure another was accurate. Upon the say so of the surveyor, according to my neighbor, he ripped out all of my trees and bushes and cleared a walking path through some forestry on our land. When I challenged the survey, the company sent someone out with no tools (they borrowed mine, including my tape measure (which they said is better and longer than theirs) and my computer mouse which was not returned to me, leading me to have issues working) who admitted that the survey had not been accurate nor completed, and someone else would be out the next week. They said my property should not have been ripped out or damaged because the dispute was not settled. Now my neighbor has paid for a survey that isn't finished, will have to replace my trees, and I will have to pay for a survey because I cannot trust that when James Mcauley Land Surveying finishes finally that it will be correct. It was even notarized, which makes me think there is quite a bit of fraud happening. Upon seeing other reviews, I can see that this company can not be trusted and is about to send my neighbor and I into civil court, and has cost everyone involved good will and a great deal of money.

GPLS went above and beyond in determining what was required by both the County and the Town of Huntersville. I had contacted other surveyors who declined the work given the nature of my request. During the project, there were many roadblocks and Tim handled each one seamlessly and continued to move on with my project without me having to get involved. The end product was delivered in a timely fashion and included everything necessary to record my Deed with the County. The price he charged was very fair for the work performed, the quality of his work is an A+ and his professionalism is unmatched. I highly recommend GPLS and Tim and will use them again for my future needs.

The surveyors did a great job when they arrived and completed the work on the property in one day. The office staff were very nice and professional. We handled most correspondence via email. There was a delay from the original appointment due to Hurricane Florence and had to be rescheduled. They are a busy business so sometimes you have to remind them of where you are in the process to proceed to the next step but they responded immediately and followed through. The cost of the survey was about what I expected. If you need to have your property surveyed within a particular time period, schedule as far in advance as possible due to their popularity. There were not any surprises. A great organization to work with. Highly recommended.

Would definitely hire again. Chris called right away and provided flexible options in meeting for the initial estimate. He was thorough in setting expectations from beginning to end and performed the job within a week’s time. The stumps were finely ground - no chunks of wood were left. While he doesn’t offer haul away of debris, he cleaned up the areas very well and didn’t leave a mess - I’ve worked with companies that have left a mess so it was refreshing to see Chris offering this service without being asked.

Mr Clay did a fantastic job at my new rental home with much needed trim work and refresh of mulch and rock trimmed areas. He was on time, polite, well spoken, courteous, and professional. He conducted himself in a very high quality way and represented gis business well. He made sure I was completely satisfied with his work before leaving and asked if I needed him to change anything or do anything else before packing up for the day. He did so well, I will have him come back to work on a fencing project I need done next month! Thanks Mr Clay!!

Upon my first call, was told I had to pay an up-front deposit of $125 just to schedule a visit. After I provided my credit card number for payment, I was told they would call me to schedule a time and that a technician could not come out until the middle of that following week. They were prompt in charging my credit card but as of Wednesday of the next week, they hadn't called. So I called and learned that I was scheduled for service that same day, i.e. no notice or concern for the customer's time. I promptly canceled because I found another company that didn't charge me before scheduling, was more responsive and communicated with the customer in a more timely manner.

Absolutely awful. After showing up with samples, both of the contacts I had for this company simply ignored me...no returned calls for over a week and some line on nonsense about weather affecting their phones when they finally did return my fifth telephone message. This was the second contractor I had to fire in a week...starting to wonder what it actually takes to get on Angie's list; apparently not much.
