SOD Home GroupWe were so fortunate to find SOD home group to redesign our house. It has been a while since we did any remodeling or updates. Oren was attentive to each and every detail during the work. The type of materials, the paint of the walls, the combination of the cabinets and more and more… were picked up one by one to deliver us a ‘look like new‘ home. The whole coordination of who will work and when, what will they do daily, weekly and monthly – was managed by Oren. The office staff always made sure that the schedule and perfection are the top priority and they kept informing us regarding each and every step of the work. We cannot thank all the people who did the work and manage to complete it on time even though we are in a middle of a pandemic. Can-Do ConstructionDave did a beautiful job of tearing out old cabinets, and replacing with new ones. He added electrical outlets for conches, and tore out the old flooring, and laid down new ones. He was very considerate of keeping everything clean and organized. Dave also built a trellis construction around The pipes on my deck, and installed a shade on the back of my carport. Paladin HomeNo one LOVES having a construction crew in their home, and yet! The first few days after Mike and his crew had completed our five-month project, we really missed them! Mike if funny, considerate and a great problem solver who goes above and beyond. He hires great people and treats them well which is so important when these people are going to be in your home day after day. We were thrilled with every part of the major remodel Mike did for us. He works so hard for his clients. After a long day on the job site, we would often get texts from Mike in the evening because he had been searching online for a product that would solve some challenge, or thinking about different ways to approach a problem. What impressed me the most, I think, is Mike's dedication to make sure we got what we really wanted, even if it meant more time and work on his part. For instance, when the light switches went in, according to the architect's plan that we had approved, I realized that it wouldn't be easy for me to turn lights on and off from inside the kitchen. He could have easily said, "Well, I gave you exactly what you asked for" and moved on. Instead, he pondered the wiring that had already put in and figured out a way to add another switch for me, without disrupting the finish work that had already been done. There were times that I changed my mind about something and asked him to redo it that I'm sure would be really frustrating for any contractor, but he was patient and understanding and put in the time to make sure we had no regrets. Mike was also generous with his expertise in areas that went beyond his responsibility. Our house is old, and items we needed for the remodel were nonstandard sizes. He helped us search, calling suppliers for us, sending us photos from stores and searching through web resources in the evenings, until we found the perfect item for each need. Mike even once found us an accessory he knew we had been looking for at a garage sale on a Sunday! I would call Mike first any time I have another home project, and wholeheartedly recommend Paladin Home to local friends. Big projects are not generally fun to live through, but Mike honestly made a lot of the days fun. Props also to his right-hand man Kevin, who not only does excellent work but brought me succulents from his yard to propogate and helped us recapture our unruly German Shepherd puppy when she got out.- carrie p.

SOD Home GroupWe recently completed a significant renovation to our house, including an overhaul of our kitchen and two bathrooms. SOD Home Group did a superb job ensuring this renovation was completed quickly, safely and beautifully with the highest standards possible. Oren, who is unflappable, an excellent communicator, led the renovation and pays great attention to detail. He should honestly teach a course on time management cause the guy knows how to very juggle several projects without missing a beat. We were overwhelmed with the prospects of the renovation, but Oren allayed all fears and led a great team of professionals to make the renovation a success, and it was completed fairly quickly given the size and extent of renovation. Oren and his team’s wealth of experience came handy in tackling our bathrooms that are smaller. One bathroom was really dark and felt closed in. Oren suggested adding a sky tunnel, something that we never would have considered possible, and initially decided against. However, we changed our minds, and we were so glad we did! The sky tunnel made a tremendous difference, opening up the lighting in the bathroom. I sit this as an example of how the team never pressured us to add on extra costs but would work together to find excellent solutions that were reasonable. Oren would lay out all options and explain the context behind each, but always defer to us without pressure on what decision to make. We really appreciated that as any renovation, particularly with an older house, is bound to have issues come up. It also showed Oren’s flexibility since we initially waved off the suggestion, but then later came around to it. We could write several more paragraphs regarding how incredible the entire SOD Home Group team is and cannot stress enough how grateful we are to all of them for making this a stress free effort. We look forward to working with Oren and the rest of his team again when we opt to renovate other parts of our house in the future.- Gerald B.

Amazing job! Lindy roofing was great to work with and I would recommend them to anyone. They offered a fair (and lowest bid) for the roof project I needed done. They were responsive to questions, provided complete information, provided updates to my job, and provided me warranty information after everything was completed. Workers were also amazing. They worked quickly, cleaned up everyday, and were done a day faster than I anticipated. Lindy roofing is a family owned and operated business. I liked that I could keep my money local and since they have been around for years I felt comfortable knowing they here if anything ever comes up. Great company, I can't say enough about them and will recommend them to everyone I know who needs roof work completed. A+++

We hired SOD Home Group for our complete home remodel, and the results are amazing. We’re the owners of a 5,300 square foot home in Los Angeles area that we purchased new in 2005. After all those exceptional years with our three children and pets, it was way pastime for repairs and a refresh. We interviewed several general contractors, and we selected Oren and his team at SOD Home Group because of their experience, knowledge, and vision for our home. They transformed our outdated, worn-out home into a modern showcase. They took the house down to the wood framing. They removed walls to open up the house. They installed bigger, modern windows to open up the house to the outside. Doors were replaced. The kitchen was refreshed with new cabinets & upgraded appliances, floors and a much bigger center island. The upstairs balcony was rebuilt with a modern glass railing. Walk-in showers were installed in all the bathrooms. They designed and installed a unique revolving television wall in our master bathroom. The construction crew always worked hard to please us. I highly recommend Josh Matus from SC Home Repair. We needed to have a ceiling replaced in a closet after it was damaged by water. The plumber who originally fixed the leak cut out the ceiling to fix the leak, but was not able to reinstall it. We hired Josh to replace the ceiling. He did an excellent job. He was punctual and polite, and kept me looped in on the entire project. He got my sign-off on all of his decisions and ran pricing by me when he needed to buy supplies. He knew exactly what he was doing. Josh finished the job quickly in two days and did excellent work while paying attention to detail. I would certainly hire him again!

We would definitely work with Ben again. His attention to detail and overall integrity as a contractor are excellent. He spent plenty of time with us on the front end of the project to select materials and set our expectations for how our kitchen would look when it was done. He helped us choose some special features that made the kitchen special. We were remodeling the kitchen as part of an overall plan to renovate and sell our home, and time got tight at the end of the project when we found another home more quickly than we thought we would. Ben stepped up and did a really good job finishing the final touchups, and we sold our home two days later.

We went with Elizabeth Shutters because they are made in the USA and lead time was much less than anyone else. Cost was about in the middle of the others we received quotes on. We were very excited to get our shutters installed. Mike the installer was on time and professional. The issue is the actual quality of the shutters. We only had 5 windows done and every shutter has some type of mark from scratches, chips, gouges and even paint rolling down one. Most of the issues were on the frames but some on the actual shutters. We also were having a shade installed but the bracket was not correct. Things happen and I even understand some issues with product. My complaint is that I reached out to Elizabeth Shutters exactly 1 week ago today. Told them of the quality issues and sent pictures. Also commented that pictures are hard to see everything and I was hopeful someone would come out and look. I also asked when the bracket would be in for the shades. Again 1 week ago and I have heard nothing back. That is not acceptable.

My wife and I worked with Joe to renovate our home in the South Bay. We basically tore everything down to the studs and did some reconfiguring of the interior, as well as redoing all plumbing and electrical. With Joe and his team, we transformed a home that hasn’t been renovated since the 60’s to the home of our dreams. We were referred to Joe by a trusted friend, and after a phone call with an overview of what our plans were, we met Joe in person at our home for an initial walkthrough. Both my wife and I were impressed with how thorough he was with details regarding the renovation; it was immediately obvious he was a master of his craft, with a vast amount of experience and knowledge in construction. More importantly, he’s down to earth and honest; his transparency was very much appreciated. Joe and his crew take pride in their work. He’d go above and beyond by suggesting certain looks or practical modifications to our original request; it often felt like he was renovating for himself!
