    Hello RavanH,

    Thank you for the plugin.

I guess it works well for google news submission. However, for larger publisher sites can you include images in the standard XML sitemap like in other SEO plugins.

Please pardon the ignorance, but kindly guide if the same is already a part of the XML sitemap.

This request is to prevent using multiple sitemap plugins, since this plugin does not support/include images is what is been told. Images also form a very important part of the google indexing.

I hope my request is clear.

    Thank You

    N J

  • Hi, this plugin does include images. Go to Settings > XML Sitemap and for each post type (posts, pages, custom post type) set the option “Add image tags for” to either “Featured Image” or “Attached Images”.

For that last option, also make sure all images that you wish to be present in the sitemap are attached to the post in which they are embedded. You can check this on the Media > Library admin page. Switch it to the “List” view (button top left above the images overview) and check the column “Uploaded to” (3rd column). If each image has a page or post name there, it’s all good. If an image has no post/page there, then use the link “Attach” to attach the image to an appropriate post or page.
