I hired workers from the SF Day Labor Program to help move some heavy furniture around a storage unit. The workers arrived on time, and were very professional. I requested at least one of the workers be English speaking, and they sent me one very nice man who acted as go-between with me and the other laborers. They worked very efficiently, and took direction without complaint. The prices are very reasonable for the difficulty of the work, and I'd happily hire them again.

We were making a move from California to Arizona. I rented a moving truck and packing blankets and was going to drive the truck myself, but needed help to load. Arranged with Jay's to provide needed labor. After initial contact, a company representative came to house to survey job. Made recommendations for us to prepare for move and gave estimate of costs for their services and for additional supplies, if any were needed. On scheduled day, 2 man crew, Kevin and Josh, arrived as scheduled and went right to work. They wrapped all furniture, pictures, mirrors, tv's, etc in moving blankets to protect them during move. They laid out all of the furniture and our prepacked boxes and proceeded to load the truck. Truck was well loaded so that all contents were secured, with strapping they provided, to prevent movement during transit. Took about 4 1/4 hours to complete loading. Total charges were in line with estimate that I was given. When unloading on arrival, found that load had remained well secured with no noted damage. Very Satisfied with their service, would use them again, and would highly recommend their services.

Great movers, extremely diligent with a very strong attention to detail. These guys aren't just hired labor for the day. They are true professionals who handle your items with great care.

They were punctual, friendly, flexible, professional. Initially met w/owner, Paul. I would say his estimate was probably not the cheapest we could have found, but it wasn't the highest either, it was reasonable & we liked him. He also provided used boxes & packing materials & we appreciated this re-use/environmental approach. Through him we also hired a "packer" for one full day when we realized just a few days before the move that we needed extra help. For this move they used (2) 24' trucks and we spent about $1900. Things moved faster than we expected. It was a great experience & we would definitely re-use them.

Their price was very reasonable and they were very professional. Nothing was broken and they took good care of my belongings.

Called for quote for move out, storage for one month and move in. Total quote was over $5K and they wouldn't honor portions of the coupon advertised on Angie's list. They offered 5% off of labor but that was it. Called Waters moving and gave them the exact same parameters. Quote came in at half the price.

There were two men that came out and they were great. They did what they were told. They were very efficient. I even had to tell them to take a break because they were not taking a break on their own. I had to ask them to take a break because I knew they were working so hard. It was not very complicated work, but they worked very hard. The price was great.

Nothing was broken during the move, but it has split move so some of things that needed to have stay got packed away. Some of the boxes went into storage and one box in particular was labeled fragile and I’m not sure if was placed appropriately in the storage unit. Overall, it was okay. There were additional fees for the boxes and labor and I felt it was expensive.

I moved twice in one month after a guy basically stole my rent and deposit in his apartment scam. Tough living in SF. Lesson learned. Anyway, Shamrock delivered my stuff in a timely manner. The labor used to move were professional and on time. They took care going up and down the stairs of an old apartment and careful moving into a new apartment. No damages to report, which is huge. Great service. Hard working. And super efficient. They certainly did not milk the clock. Dealing with Siobhan in the office was great, too. She was very helpful and responsive. She was also understanding of the difficulties and challenges moving in and out of the City. In terms of storage, the only downfall is that it's not accessible storage and there is a minimum labor charge to access. But... they wrapped my leather couch and furniture for storage real well. I feel safe that my stuff will be fine for however long it's in there.

I manage a lab space in Berkeley, CA. We needed a few biosafety cabinets, freezers, centrifuges, and incubators moved around ASAP. I called Hauling Moses and they quoted a good price. Their response time and next-day availability was a game-changer for me. They showed up, did good work and were careful with our items. The work ended up requiring more labor than I had initially planned for, but they were fair in adding onto the bill and we negotiated a fair price. Red Carpet Moving was prompt and professional. Three strapping young men arrived exactly on time and quickly went to work - they were very careful with our belongings and extremely courteous. We've moved six times over the last 12 years, and this was by far the best service we've every used. When it comes to moving services, you get what you pay for - if you hire cheap labor, you get dinged furniture or worse. Go with professionals like Red Carpet, and you won't regret it!

I needed a sewing machine cabinet moved from my sewing machine dealer to my house. My sewing machine dealer called them to get a quote and then gave me their contact information. I called them. They then gave me a higher quote and booked the time for the move. When I called back to give them additional details, I found out that they charge a fee to show up on time. Otherwise, they can show up at any time during a 4-hour window. In addition to the labor and transportation costs, and the priority fee (the fee to show up at a specific time), they charge a percentage over and above the previous fees that gets added in to the labor fees, the transportation fee and the showing-up-at-a-specific-time fee. Each time I called, I also got a different person. This constant inconsistency caused me to cancel the move through them. Beware hidden fees at this company and being passed around like a hot potato from one salesperson to another each time you call.

My experience was great from beginning to end. From calling Northstar and scheduling the appt/understanding pricing, etc all the way to the 3 professional movers coming to my house to doing the actual move. They were very upfront about pricing during the scheduling and also when the guys showed up for the move. We discussed it all upfront and it was pretty consistent with the initial estimates given on the phone. (So no haggling at the end of the move). Also, since the move was charged based on time of labor, they even brought from furniture from a separate location (within walking distance from a neighbor) to the final destination. They were extremely professional and efficient. I would definitely recommend them.

Initially there was a misunderstanding regarding pricing, because of unclear wording in the Angie's List Deal I used for Blaylock Transport. The deal I purchased was for labor only; from the wording I thought it was a full service offer. In spite of this, Tim was able to work with me to modify the deal in a way that worked out for both of us. He and his helper were friendly, punctual, and hustled their butts off to get the job done. They handled the delicate items with care, but still managed to move quickly. If you hire Blaylock, it's best to communicate by phone. I sent a few emails via Angie's List that Tim says he never got; Tim says he sent me a few messages that I never received.

Seamlessly, and the entire process would have been impossible without sml. From start to finish, their phone representatives were well informed, transparent and thorough, sending confirmation emails and voicemail reminders. The young men, 2 professional and 2 not, were well prepared, well-trained, good team members, and responsive to input and suggestions. My only preference would be to establish a time certain for their arrival, rather than a one-hour window. It was cold out, and there seemed to be an unnecessary delay getting started until both team members arrived.

The quality of service Shamrock provided was superb. The crew were friendly, courteous, careful with my belongings, and worked quickly. The guys showed up 10 minutes early, and all three of them acted like professional movers (as compared to hired laborers). Moving only some of the contents of an apartment can be confusing, and I've had movers complain about it in the past. These guys took it well in stride. They even reminded me to take some coats from the hall closet, which I would otherwise have forgotten. My only complaint with this was the price. $165/hr is on the high end for a 3-man crew, and I think that if I had booked further ahead, I could have gotten comparable movers for cheaper. There are certainly companies with similar reputations who quoted me less, but they weren't available on short notice. That said, Shamrock's rates were in line with a lot of their competitors, and those competitors would be hard-pressed to beat Shamrock's quality.

I hired sunshine boys at the last minute to help load a moving truck with all my household items. I had already packed everything into moving boxes and rented my own moving truck for a one-way move. They sent 3 gentlemen over who showed up early, and worked quickly and cheerfully. Any extra materials I didn't have (packing tape, cords for the truck) they brought with them and charged me a very reasonable amount for it. The gentleman on the phone also recommended that I rent furniture pads from the truck company. When the movers came, they wrapped all my wood furniture with the felt pads to protect it during the move. When they loaded the truck, their moving experience showed. They loaded the heavier items in first, and packed the truck efficiently enough that everything fit inside on the first try. If we had loaded it ourselves, we would've either packed and re-packed a few times or wound up renting a second truck to get everything to fit. I was charged by the hour for the labor and I thought it was a great deal with how fast they worked. I could have hired them to do a full service move if I hadn't called at the last minute.

They have terrible customer service. When the movers came out, they tried to sell me more products to make more hours. The owner was very unprofessional, and the movers had no people skills. They just wanted to keep adding hours. They came with a smaller truck, and said they needed to bring another truck and three more guys. They didn't credit me boxes back that I didn't use, and I felt that it was a scam. Buyer beware! It is recommended for customers to get an estimate in writing and really really be cautious with what they are going to try and sell you at the end – whether it’s materials or extra labor. They will deliver boxes to you prior to your move, charge you the full amount and refund you on the day of the move. They’re going to add more hours. Make sure they count accurately what they take back.

The first project was packing up my entire house. Chantale visited the house and did a walk through with me. She asked about special treasures that I couldn't bare to see broken and then made sure they were handled with the utmost care. She has a staff that is well trained, they labeled each box, cleaned the house after the movers picked up my belongings, she supervised the whole event, calling me only when she needed specific instructions. It was beautifully done with a very high degree of professionalism. She had the kitchen unpacked with the coffee maker and coffee mugs ready to go for me the next morning! My second job for her was to organize my garage, she installed lighting, purchased and installed shelving, organized the shelves in see-threw containers with labels. Again, it was wonderful and done with a great degree of professionalism. I didn't have to be involved and came home from work to see a sparkling garage totally organized!
