An icon originally created to represent the generic action of sharing a web page. This could mean adding the page to a social bookmarking site or memetracker, e-mailing the page to someone, etc.

The Share Icon was sold to ShareThis, Inc. in 2007.

I originally released the Share Icon under the following Open Source licenses: GPL, LGPL, BSD and Creative Commons Attribution 2.5. The Share Icon continued to be distributed from 2007 to 2012 by ShareThis, Inc. under those same licenses.
