This is an unusable piece of junk. It does not connect over ADB. It does not show up in my Amazon Alexa app. It can't even open or download Netflix. It cannot pair a remote.

It got a dud. Don't risk getting a dud. Just get the latest FireTV cube.

Voice commands are worthless and it forgets what it is doing

Before you ask, yes I have the cube as far from speakers as I possibly can.
It will pause the program when I ask it a question, then will not resume it. Voice commands to resume playing a program don't work 90% of the time. I have almost NO control using voice commands, 80% of the time it can't find content I request by voice. It turns my receiver on and off randomly, I can't control volume on the TV and receiver combined, it is one or the other.
I have a 300mbs fiber connection and it freezes up or hiccups too much, and video quality is meh.
When I installed it, my mesh network crashed, and it fouled up all of my smart home devices, making me have to re-discover them.

I have 4 fire sticks that perform better than this POC, in quality, stability, and voice commands.

In a nutshell it isn't worth the money I just wasted - get a firestick.

Don't buy a refurbished unit. It's not worth the aggravation.
I just received the Fire TV Cube yesterday. A paired remote does not wake the unit up. Only a cold reboot does. I'm returning it.
The Amazon agent was very confused about this, questioning the warranty and return window regarding this unit that one ONE DAY OLD!!! She seemed very confused or cognitively impaired. I had to hang up and get another agent. This type of service should just never happen. I've been a customer since Amazon was just a sparkle in Mr. Bezo's eye. This type of service never happened to me before and should never happen again.

I was really excited for this and was amped when it came it. I immediately set it up but I’m slowly become annoyed.

Here’s what Alexa doesn’t seem to understand so far:

Alexa play npr
-opens npr doesn’t play, or plays but stops intermittently and I have to find the remote

Alexa play country music on YouTube
-plays pop
-plays the SAME EXACT COUNTRY SONG every single time.

Alexa play the office on Netflix
-replays the same episode I watched two days ago

Maybe since mine is refurbished it’s not as good but her voice recognition needs a lot of work.

We Purchased a new device, started having problems less than year, returned within the warranty period and got a “certified refurbished “ one. That one also started having problems- freezing, screen going blank over and over again, then just totally stopped. We did all the things we should do- restarted the cube, changing HDMI, and factory reset. We called to report the issues and possibly get a replacement since it’s still shows that it’s eligible for return or replacement , but was told it’s not able to because it was a replacement and the window has since expired- which was not true since it was less than a month and still shows it’s eligible. So basically, we got a defective product and they don’t care. Not sure if we want to repeat this; buy a new one if it’ll break within a year and we’ll get an even worse defective one again. For a long time paying Prime member, they should really take care and honor their warranty/product. Maybe it’s made to be that defective so customers can keep buying a new one every year. Very frustrating and upsetting.
