The Department of Applied Economics and Economic Policy is attached to the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, created by Law 29/1979 that marked the beginning of the University of Alicante. The subjects taught in different study plans deal with concepts such as instrumental policies, analysis of public policies (regional, national and international), sectoral policies without neglecting the environment; It also explains the important concepts of economics for students enrolled in other colleges where it is convenient to have these notions.

Next Tuesday, June 15, there will be a day of tribute to Germán Bernácer, a well-known twentieth-century Alicante economist in memory of his appointment, 90 years ago, as head of the Research Service of the Bank of Spain. It will begin in the Paraninfo at 10:30 with a conference by the General Director of Economics and Statistics of the Bank of Spain, Óscar Arce, who will deal with "The Spanish economy in the euro area: situation, perspectives and challenges". After this event, chaired by the Rector Amparo Navarro, the Faculty of Economics and Business will be attended to see, in its hall, several panels and a video about the figure and the role he played in the Bank of Spain during that troubled time .

For three days, from Tuesday 8 to Thursday 10, the University Entrance Exams will be held. There, students will begin to interact with the Campus while taking a series of exams that will lead, in a few days, to grades that allow them or not to study the desired Degree. On June 18 the note will be known and, three days later, the pre-registration period will begin until July 9. A week later, the list of admitted will come out and the enrollment period will begin from July 20 to 22.
