Flood Doctor Restoration & Construction

My wife has an endless "honey-do" list, and I can't keep up! So Flood Doctor to the rescue... quickly installing hardware with ease, moving the piano without damaging a wood floor, fixing existing tile so that no one could tell which were original and which were replacements, and "sweating the small stuff" to make sure the heavily-damaged guest bed could be used again. Nathan is an honest person who does a quality job and who cares about his customers!

We found water damage in our home and Gerhard was quick to respond and inspect. He's been amazing - not only fixed the issue (cut out damaged area and rebuild framing) but also made sure to identify the root of the problem to ensure no future damage. Very professional and fairly priced. Super highly recommended!

The men we hired from this company were very easy to deal with, did a fabulous job of repairing the mismeasured surfaces, & installed a beautiful backsplash. The previous contractors did a sloppy job, but this company was great about coming to fix up the mistakes & they only charged me $200. These men did amazing work & I really love the backsplash they installed as well.

Joey was on time, courteous, and I found he was an effective problem solver for some of the trickier items -- he was able to MacGyver a solution for the drawer repair. His time and price estimate was dead on. And importantly for us, he respected our desire for him to take off his shoes inside the house.

Everlast Construction
3.0
The main reason I hired them was to have my subfloor in my bathroom fixed. I had a contractor in my condo a few years ago and he removed my concrete subfloor. I hired everlast because they do pouring of concrete. When their person arrived at my place, he immediately said that I would need to redo the vanity because they need to remove it to get under it. I did not understand why, but assumed that because they would be pouring concrete they needed the space above to be clear. While he was at my place, he took the liberty to walk around my home and look at everything. I found it odd. We agreed on about 9k for redoing the floor and fixing the subfloor, tiling, re-stain the vanity, and doing the counter top. I had a pervious estimate for 7k so I was ok with this estimate. So when they opened the floor up they made the determination that they would not pour concreate, instead they would just fix my subfloor. After talking through this I was ok with it, but not thrilled about not having the concrete back. Basically they found out that the previous contractor had done things like using the wrong material for the floor tiles and under the floor tiles and did not screw the things together very well. This is what caused the issues. Pros from this work: 1) subfloor got fixed; 2) floor got retiled with a nice tile; 3) cabinet got stained, the original color I picked turned out orange so I went with a dark walnut which was much better; 4) I got a new counter top as well, I wanted ceasarstone but they wanted to do my middle bath at the same time if I did the ceasarstone and we initially tried a white slab of quartz. The white quartz was not installed very well and they ended up doing the ceasarstone anyway. ; 5) there was some sound insulation techniques implemented like putting foam around the drain pipe and some other things like that around the edges of the room; 6) the walls were patched up.; 7) walls and ceiling were repainted; 8) They were willing to fix any issues I found and were pretty responsive. Cons from this work: 1) no concrete subfloor, which is why I hired them. Other notes: 1) We tried this white quartz which turned out to have specs in it that looked rather unpleasant. The white quartz was the backup in the event that they could not get the Caesarstone, but instead of waiting for the Caesarstone they installed the white quartz and then had to remove it and install the Caesarstone; 2) They did not install the faucets I picked out, instead they found another one, fortunately they new faucets were nice enough to work in the new bathrooms and were similar enough. After this job was completed and I was paying the last bill, I was persuaded into paying 31k for doing similar work in the 2 other bathrooms. I was a bit confused to where the 31k came from and didn't get an answer. The master bath work was about the same as the back bathroom work, without fixing the floor and the middle bathroom work was less work. The job extension would be: 1) painting the walls of the master bathroom; 2) tiling part of the floor in the middle bathroom; 3) re-stain the vanity in the master bathroom; 4) putting Caesarstone, new sinks and faucets in the master bathroom; 5) painting the middle bathroom; 6) re-stain the vanity in the master bathroom; and 7) putting Caesarstone, new sinks and faucets in the master bathroom; 8) removing a glued wall mirror with a hanging wall mirror that I purchased. We treated this as a job extension instead of new work. While the quality of work is good and they do work pretty fast, I can't afford to do more work with them at their price.

Homeworx Construction & Plumbing
5.0
Thought I'd try this company out when I read about them on Angie's List for some limited work, to see if I liked them for some larger remodel work I needed to do. I couldn't be happier! Chuck and his crew did a couple hours repair work for me, and it was clear he and his crew were professionals! After the much needed fixes at my house, I saw all they guys were skillful, clean, honest and fast at their jobs. Chuck bid a very fair price for a remodel of my very dilapidated master bathroom. It came out great! They were perfectionists with things I wasn't even that particular about. Chuck spent a generous amount of time helping me pick out materials and advising me of technical pros and cons. My tile design was complex with multiple types of materials, put they pulled it off beautifully. When I added items to the contract, he was very fair with the additional cost. I currently have them scheduled for a 4th contract upgrading my kitchen. I highly recommend Homeworx (but not until I'm done with all the work I plan for them, please!)

EAST BAY TILE
5.0
The owner called us approx. 1 hour after we inquired about getting a quote on a bathroom floor repair. The quote was the most thorough and complete quote that we received. This was a small job that a lot of other business refused to quote or quoted us over the phone after a small description of the job. Monica (the owner) went over the job explaining all the details about the job and then provided us a written quote the next day. The pricing was in the middle of the 3 quotes that were given to us but because she was so thorough we decided to go with East Bay Tile. The job was completed within a week and the results were amazing! Even though there was more damage then what we initially thought was there, the pricing did not change. Monica also gave us a quote to fix the flooring for the hallway bathroom (more water damage there as well) and gave us great tips for taking care of our new floor and how to prevent more damage to our hallway bathroom until we can get it fixed as well. Will definitely use this company again.

We were VERY pleased with the guys at Real Handy Handyman. They were on time, friendly, commutative, hard working, and did an amazing job with the tasks that we asked of them. They were respectful of our baby's nap time, and waited to do loud tasks until he was awake. We will refer them to all of our friends and family, and will FOR SURE be return clients! Thanks guys!

FSP General Contractors

Our house had been remodeled 21 years ago and there were stains in some of the grout and cracked tiles in some bathrooms and cracks in the grout in an exterior tile deck. We had spoken with two separate companies that that stated the interior grout could not be cleaned and that nothing could be done. We found Tony on Angie's List. He was very reponsive and his pricing was, in our opinion, very fair, He replaced the exterior grout and repaired the interior areas. The job expanded somewhat after we were comfortable with Tony's performance and chose to fix some other problem spots. Changes were discussed in advance and additional charges were known and agreed to in advance. Tony did a very good job for us at a fair price--looks like new!

Fix It Today LLC.

Gary is a very nice person to work with, highly expreienced, friendly, responsive, and professional. I have nothing but good words about Gary and his team. A smooth sailing from the initial quote to the final finish. In less than 3 weeks, the team has transformed a badly damaged house into an attractive new home. Gary clearly knows what to do and always thinks what are the best for you. Interior painting requires a lot attentions to many details, but his team has done an excellent job beyond expectation. One thing I particualarly appreciated is the team picked up many minor items we overlooked and got those fixed along the way to make the whole project a big success in a short period of time. I would have no hesitation to use Gary and his team for future work.

Michael was very easy to work with. We put in our request for a quote, Michael came out with a day or two, the work began within a week. We had several projects going on and Michael managed each piece of the work very smoothly. In addition, he was very communicative with us each day of the project. I have worked with other roofing companies and I will never go back - Dry Tech is fantastic!

First I'd like to thank Asher and his crew for doing an amazing job he was all the time available to meet, or talk. He answers responsibly and finished exactly on time and didn't take long at all. So thank you I love the new kitchen as well as my family. He is very reasonable with his prices and very nice I am looking forward to deal with him again. I would definately recommend using art builders.

Rodeo Construction

They claimed to be on Angie's List and we used them, and it was a total disaster. Their work was appalling and we had to fire them in the end. They definitely need to be investigated. They were dishonest and incompetent. They cost us about $8000 altogether because we had to have it repeated. They messed up the flooring work and we just had to fire them and get somebody else in to deal with the work. We have to give them credit for some of the work because they themselves repeated some of the work which they had messed up, but for the rest, we decided that we couldn't use them anymore and canceled the contract with them. We walked around with them after they did the outside painting and noticed that the paint was already flaking off. So, they brought a new company in to do it all again and that was partially satisfactory. The repair on the walls and the ceiling was a complete disaster. The walls still bulge and are not smooth and the ceiling still bulges and had started cracking at one place and opening up again. Instead of resurfacing the bathroom walls, they just applied the tile over the bulges. In fact, they left pieces of metal behind in some of the tiles. They had to grout with different colors and some of the floor tiles are already cracking because it is so uneven. The original floor was from 1920 and needed resurfacing but they gouged it completely. We gave up at that stage and brought in another company to do the job properly. They put a hole in the wrong location despite us giving them a map with the exact measurement. They painted the outside but they painted over the old paint without scraping it off. They painted every single one of the sliding window shafts and I had to go around un-sticking them. They were going to put the wrong color of roof on because, I think they already had one ordered that they wanted to install, and we had to stop them. There was a leak that they had to fix in the roof and they did actually fix it. They were supposed to repair the front steps and it was done extremely badly and you can see all the marks of the repair. They also upset the neighbors by parking in the wrong place, creating a lot of noise and a lot of mess. The price would have been reasonable if they had done the job as defined. They had said that the work would take a month, but we had to fire them six months later and it still wasn't completed. In the end, we paid them a partial amount just to get rid of them, and got an agreement from them that it was satisfactory, and told them never to come back again.

The Grout Expert
5.0
The contractor who remodeled our bathrooms and kitchen did a fine job with everything except the grout. We had problems with grout bubbling out or cracking in the bathroom, and cracking in the kitchen. The contractor is long gone and I didn't know where to turn until I saw The Grout Expert ad in the Angie's List magazine. I called and Ricky came out to give us an estimate. When we asked him to do the work he scheduled it for the next Saturday and the crew came right on time. They worked very hard, only broke for lunch while the grout dried, then sealed it and were done at 4:00 just like they said. Ricky also re-did the vanity top in the bathroom and the tile in the front door entry, that were not part of the original quote, and did not charge extra. He knew exactly what the original contractor had done wrong (used the wrong type of grout in the bathroom and didn't seal the grout in the kitchen) and was very knowledgeable and easy to talk with. We also had 4 bull nose tiles that cracked and we could not find replacements, but Ricky fixed them with matching grout so the cracks are not apparent at all unless you know they're there. Overall a good experience and I'd recommend The Grout experts to anyone.

SOD Home Group
5.0
We highly recommend SOD Home Group for any large construction project. After finishing my excellent research about them, we hired them to make some significantly large repairs to our home. Oren was very up front about what needed to be done, and he listened to our concerns and ideas of what we need and want and then came up with a super detailed plan of what needed to be done. We found Oren as a very honest, professional, easy to work with person, competent, and extremely knowledgeable about his trades. Oren was present and working with his teams almost all the time they were present. Oren always answered his phone right away whenever we had questions (and believe us we had so many questions and comments). Our repairs and construction job required expertise in many aspects of construction at our home. From framing, waterproofing, stucco, structural repairs, tile work, drywall painting etc. all of which got done in a great and timely manner. We do a lot of our own repairs , and have had many contractors doing projects too, but we found SOD Home Group to be by far the best construction company we have ever seen or worked with. Their prices are fair, their work is excellent, on time, clean and the quality is fantastic. Oren is knowledgeable about whatever he is working on and always kept me updated on whatever aspect of the job he was working on. A wonderful person to work with. If you want a job completed with no stress and the assurance you are getting it done right, then we feel strongly that SOD Home Group is the one to call.

Recent Review: It's never easy to find a contractor. There are certain "rules" you need to follow, and even that wont guarantee your contractor wont be a big flop and vanish in the middle of the remodeling project. We were looking to remodel our bathroom, so I asked around, friends, and friends of friends about their remodeling experiences, as well as did my research online in search of a contractor. An honest one! I checked Yelp and found Everlast, I loved the after pictures! They put us in touch with their previous client so we could check out their work. Loved it! Now I want a new kitchen too :) We discussed ideas, didn't feel rushed or cornered into settling. They gave us various ideas for a more open floor plan and showed us a variety of tile and counters to choose from without having to leave our home. Overall we were VERY happy with the outcome, the price and service they provided. Our contractor rocked! we couldn't have hired a better one. We will, without a doubt, be using Everlast Construction in the future.
