I needed a Samsung TV repaired for my mother. Samsung wanted us to ship it out, Geek Squad wanted us to purchase a service plan, etc... Paul was extremely helpful explaining the diagnosis, professional and courteous through the whole process. The TV was fixed in under the estimated time and works like new. Even my mother was surprised at how fast and what a value he provided. Thank You so much, Paul. PWS will definitely be getting our referrals.

I have a Samsung F8500 plasma, purchased in the fall of 2013. For those who don't know, this was the pinnacle of TV image quality and still fares extremely competitively against current TV's especially. Essentially, this is still a great TV despite it being 7 years old and I have no desire to jump into an OLED set yet. Imagine my dismay when out of the blue, the TV started doing all the things that TV's start doing when they're about to act up. Taking longer to power on. Then after a while, starting to shut itself off. After extensive googling, I thought it could be a couple of different things and I really didn't want to break out the soldering iron and attempt to repair it myself. The stakes were too high! My plasma baby deserved professional attention! I looked up and called A-1 TV service to attempt to remedy my issue. I had no issues with them whatsoever. They made an appointment, came during the specified time, and very methodically diagnosed and repaired my TV. They *could* have done any number of things to extort more money out of me (they could have told me it was a bad power supply, a bad capacitor, etc) but the problem was literally that the TV needed to have a couple connections re-soldered. It was taken care of professionally and courteously, and they even put my TV back right back on it's wall mount. Their price was super reasonable, and I will always use them in the future if any of my other appliances have issues. They repair all manner of appliances except refrigerators. Thank you A-1 TV for bringing my F8500 back to life!!

I was having issues with my 42 inch Samsung LCD TV (it would click and take several tries before turning on and there were often little dots of color on the screen after finally coming on). So, I found Tyler's TV on Angie's list and was going to have them come out to give me an estimate to see if it was worth fixing. When speaking with them and telling them about the issues I was experiencing, they told me that it sounded like it was a capicitor issue that many Samsung models were experiencing and that I should call Samsung and see if my TV fell under this manufacturer's warranty. I took their advice and called Samsung. Samsung agreed that it sounded like their issue and gave me permission to have the TV looked at and fixed and they would cover the cost. I told Samsung that I wanted Tyler's TV to repair my TV. Samsung called them and told me that Tyler's TV would contact me within 2 business days which they did. They worked with me to pick a day/time. The arrived slightly beyond the scheduled window and I had to call them (that's why I gave them a B for punctuality) but the 2 gentelmen who arrived were very courteous and professional and had my TV fixed within 20 minutes. It works just like new again! I appreciate the honesty and assistance they gave me with my first call, in directing me to go to Samsung first. The rest of the experience went just as well.

I have a Samsung 52" LCD that began the endless click-on/click-off cycle and would not power on completely. It had happened before but overcame it on its own after 45-60 minutes. This time it didn't recover - it started doing it and continued for more than three days. Finally I called Samsung service this morning and they said it is a covered repair even though the TV is from 2008 and is beyond warranty. The only problem was that the soonest they could get their service tech out to look at the set was in two weeks! As soon as Tyler's TV opened I called and they said to contact Samsung again and have them switch the Service Ticket to Tyler's TV Service. Then he gave me his Samsung authorized service number to give to Samsung for verification. He said if Samsung could swith the ticket, he could come out and fix the set today. The people on the phone at Samsung weren't sure if they could get the ticket reassigned, but it went through OK. If it hadn't I would have requested a supervisor to help make it happen. Tyler's technician showed up during the 3-6pm time as planned and fixed the set in less than an hour. The technician was friendly and knowledgeable. Before leaving we discussed another problem the TV has had from time to time. The technician took down the information and said he will forward it to Samsung after the weekend to get an estimate for the repairs. Overall Tyler's TV was prompt, very knowledgeable and professional, and I would contact them for help again any time I have a TV repair requirement.

Jeff Weiner immediately identified the problem and helped me figure out whether I needed a new TV. He pointed out advantages to the cheaper option of fixing the old one: I did that, and it works great now. (Because the prices were so good, I also brought a replacement TV for an even older one in another house.)

Initially my experience with Tyler's TV was pretty decent. Samsung assigned them to fix my malfunctioning television. When they arrived to do the work, the technician said "Nothing personal, but if I had known that you were in an apartment building, we wouldn't have cancelled the appointment". Kind of odd way to start the conversation, and doubly so considering how most of Northern VA lives in apartments, but OK. They were otherwise pleasant and were on their way when the work was completed. I began experiencing the issue again, and called them back to re-repair the television. I was told they'd "look into it" and call me back. A week later, I realized I hadn't received a call, so I called again, and was told that they'd have someone on it and would call me back. I begrudgingly approved and hung up. This was around Thanksgiving and I was traveling for the next week, but I never received a call. When I got home and called Tyler's TV again, I was told that I needed to call Samsung to "get the ticket to the top of the queue". OK. I called Samsung again, and told them that Tyler's TV had sort of been giving me the run-around. Apparently my comments angered the technicians, because after calling them about the new ticket, they told me to find a new service provider, as they would not be willing to work with customers who make "derogatory comments about the services". The technician then doubled down on his previous comments, saying that it's difficult to move TV screens into apartment buildings. Again, it seems odd that they have such deeply-held biases against apartment buildings. Considering how I carried my TV, box and all, into my apartment with no issues, I think it would be a safe assumption that two technicians could find a way to carry a screen into an elevator and through a door. If you live in an apartment, I suggest looking elsewhere for TV repair, because the technicians at Tyler's TV admittedly aren't able to navigate the halls.

My Samsung tv started to click a few months ago before turning on and then eventually stopped turning on altogether. I described the problem to Tyler TV repair and they informed me that this was a common problem with my model of TV and informed me there was a class action suit against Samsung with this very problem and that the repair should be covered by them. They provided me with a phone number to call to schedule a repair with them and they came out the next day to fix my TV. I had no idea that there was an issue with the Samsung's not turning on and if wasn't for them helping me with this covered repair I might have paid quite a bit to repair this TV. They were very professional once they came out to fix my TV-not making a mess and finishing the repair in less than 15 minutes. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs a their tv repaired.

Extremely well. First of all, I brought my tv in for repair and they were very efficient in the diagnosis of it. Bottom line, it was likely to cost about 50% of what a new, comparable Samsung 60 inch TV would cost. Problem was that it was very possible that it would need repair again soon. Shame on Samsung for building a lemon, but I was willing to give Samsung another chance. The repair person/owner was great. He took a lot of time to explain a number of issues to me, took the new tv out of the box and tested it out, programmed the remote and helped me load it in my car. After about an hour of trying to set it up at home, I was still issues. I called him and explained the problem. He offered to drive to my house and help out. Turns out, Samsung had included a bad connection wire, but after replacing it, we got the tv up and running and I am very pleased with it. I do not know of many companies that would provide that level of personalized service. So if your tv is having issues, go see them. If they can fix it, they will, but if they can't you will have new TV options explained to you and they will stand by those new tvs.

I called Tyler's just before Thanksgiving. A technician answered the phone while in his vehicle and said he would call me that night when he got home. He did not call. I figured something got lost in the shuffle of the holiday. About 2 weeks later I called again. This time, I left a message on the answering machine. Again, I did get a call back. Instead, I called PWS Electronics, with whom I had an excellent experience.

Called and reached Bill on first attempt. Discussed TV issues (TV was totally dead). Made arrangements to drop off TV for Service that same day. Delivered TV to his shop that evening. Received estimate of one to two days to respond with diagnosis and repair estimate. He called back at noon the next day with a detailed description of the issues and an estimate to repair. Repairs completed that afternoon, and TV ready for Pickup exactly 24 hours after drop off. TV was on and working like new when picked up. Price was exactly as estimated. Very pleasant experience.

On Friday, April 25, 2014, I went on Angie's List and found the nearest TV Repairman, Eddie Watkins. I called Mr. Watkins and explained that my television was clicking and would sometimes take up to an hour for the picture to click on. Mr. Watkins asked that I send him the Model and the Serial number of the television set, which I did. He said that he had a job in Pennsylvania on Saturday, but if he returned at a reasonable hour that he would call. On Saturday, he called from the Baltimore Washington Parkway to see if I was available. I said "yes" "yes", I needed my television fixed....an hour later he took the TV apart fixed the motherboard and was out the door. Mr. Watkins was professional, very knowledgeable and I highly recommend his services.

My large flat screen died, just died. World Cup happening, Wimbledon, Tour de France, much television watching coming up. I called A-1, their guys were at my door the next day, a quick exam confirmed their over the phone guess of fried power supply. 3 days later, they were back, 15 minutes later I was back on the couch loving the big screen. They were very professional, friendly, and great to deal with. Every aspect was as advertised and hoped for.

My Samsung 67 inch HD DLP TV uses a lamp/bulb to project the picture. The lamp needs to be replaced after burning out or else there is no picture. I discovered that I needed a new lamp on Thursday morning. I checked suppliers of replacement lamps on the internet. I could buy the recommended one for about $125 delivered and replace it myself. However, I did this and quot;simpleand quot; job on a previous similar TV and somehow caused $1,100 in damage to the TV. This time I decided I would have a professional replace the lamp. I arranged with Samsung for a repairman to replace it but he could not come until the next Monday afternoon and the estimated cost was $250. I decided to try to find a local TV repair service that might be able to do it sooner. I found The Electronic Clinic. Les Dorfman said he could come on Friday morning and the cost would be about $280. He had an excellent rating on Angie's list. He called and came right on time Friday morning. He was able to replace the lamp/bulb and the TV works great! He was very professional and friendly. He also gave me some advice about the TV. He charged me the quoted price of $280. Thanks to Len I was able to get the TV fixed at least 3 days sooner for about the same price and now I have a local service available for any future repair needs or home theater work.

Recent Review: When my television began to show color vertical lines occasionally, I didn't know who to call or where to turn. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from Angie's List with a '"big deal" from Burke Electronics and TV. I purchased the big deal, and I received an email from Michael shortly thereafter to set up a very convenient time for him to come to my home. The day of the appointment, he called about a half hour before he arrived to let me know he was on the way. He was extremely pleasant and professional. I told him that the television had vertical lines that come and go. I was able to take a photograph of the lines and show him on my iPhone, which he said was very helpful. He removed the back of the television, cleaned and tightened everything, showed me where the issue was, and carefully returned it back to its stand. Michael indicated that this cannot be corrected with just one component part, and that one of the entire 'boards' would have to be replaced. Doing this would not be cost effective. He said that his cleaning/tightening/etc. was a 50/50 repair--it might not occur again, or the lines could come back. This is EXACTLY the professional information I needed. Is the TV worth repairing, or should I simply replace it? Michael then recommended a television brand, series, etc., that he found least likely to need frequent repairs if a replacement is needed. I definitely appreciated his professionalism, expertise, and kindness to me as a widow of a Vietnam Veteran. He was most gracious in conversation as he worked. My television has been fine since he left. However, should the lines come back again, I know that the television is not worth repairing. Best of all, I know exactly what television I need to purchase. Amazing service from a real professional.

Recent Review: This company is contracted by Samsung to provide warranty work as well as out of warranty work on Samsung Appliances. I hired them because Samsung endorses them to do work, so I thought them to be the best candidate for the job. The tech showed up the first time with no parts despite the fact that Samsung told them the parts to bring based on the photos and problem. They charged $90 just to tell me "Yup that's the part we need" and reschedule another appointment to do the repair. The tech arrived to do the repair a few days later. He would not move the washer because it was in a drip pan and he "Doesn't know how those work". He is an appliance repair person that doesn't know how a drip pan works. So I had to teach myself how a drip pan is installed and disconnect it myself and move the washer. The tech then replaced the part and reassembled the washer. He left without testing to see if the device worked properly. I tested it immediately, and while the diaphragm was in fact no longer leaking when the washer went in to the spin cycle it sounded like a machine gun was firing because something is loose in the canister. I called them and asked them to send someone out to loo at this. They told me I had to call Samsung and open a new ticket because this ticket was closed. I said it's not closed because your tech caused this problem by not reassembling the machine properly and did not test it. They said they'd fix it but I had to call Samsung first. I called Samsung and got a new case number and called back HSN. They then told me that this is a new problem and I would have to pay $90 for the diagnosis and then pay for parts and labor again. I said it is a problem that their tech caused and they are responsible for the cost not me. So I called Samsung back and explained the situation. Fortunately Samsung recognized that this was the techs fault and offered to pay for HSN to come back and fix the problem that HSN's Tech created. HSN Called me the following day and said, "Good news, Samsung has agreed to pay for your new issue with your Washer." I told them that I do not trust their techs to do any more work on my machine and I would simply like a refund for the work that was not properly done the first time. They have denied me a refund, so I have processed a charge reversal on my American Express account. I do love American Express for that reason.
