Fredy and his crew were efficient and reliable. They were flexible with additions and changes to the original estimate. They checked in throughout the job to make sure that the work was being completed to our satisfaction. Their efficiency saved us time and money. The walls, kitchen cabinets, and bathroom floor tile repair all look great!

Generally did a nice job but attention to details was lacking. For example to install the new sky light he had to damage then repair part of the roof. He did not use shingles that came close to matching the rest of the roof. Similarly, he did not use matching grout in the bathroom.

Perfect - The handyman was on time, was courteous, knew what he was doing/was very skilled, cleaned up everything and met all of our expectations.

The initial contact and setup of an appointment for the job was a breeze. Unfortunately the handyman (who shall remain unnamed) that performed the work at first did not do a thorough inspection of the area, and rushed to apply Grout right after applying Thinset to the tile... something I learned later from the next guy and DIY searches that is not good practice. It led to an un-doing of the fixes within a day or so!! I called in to have the work re-done and was pleased by the attention and priority the House Doctors team (Amanda, Lynnwood) and the Owner (Hugh Sutherland) gave. Hugh was genuinely interested in ensuring the job was completed to my satisfaction and personally visited my house to evaluate the work previously done. Amanda was quick to get me scheduled back on the calendar and Lynnwood came out with Hugh to evaluate what would be necessary to complete the repairs. The job as it turned out, while small scale, was not an easy fix. The combination of water seepage under a few tiles from previous showers did not sit well with the brand of Thinset and Grout that was being used. Probably a freak example, but one that would be difficult to diagnose without trail n error. It was frustrating to all parties involved, because of the time commitment required to apply, dry, test, grout, seal etc. Hugh even lent me their dehumidifier to run over the course of a few days to dry out all the moisture in the air and underneath the tiles at no additional cost. He dropped it off personally vs. having me pick it up! The job took a total of 3 weeks to complete - but all throughout Hugh made regular contact with me to check on the status and ask if there was anything else he could help with. Ultimately we had to try a different brand of Thinset and Grout, which did the trick; the dehumidifier was also a contributing factor that helped a great deal. Amanda and Lynnwood were very courteous through the process and kept me updated on schedule availability etc. I was treated as a priority customer, and after meeting with Hugh and Lynnwood I could sense the pride they take in their work and quality commitment. Lynnwood was very patient and took care in his work. Its been a week now since the shower floor has been repaired, and its holding up great. Hugh checked in with me a few days after the job was complete to confirm if things were to my satisfaction. THAT is how customer service is delivered!... and THAT is what brings repeat customers. Had it not been for the attention and commitment down from the owner to the staff, i think i may have blown off this company for another chance after the first failed repair. But this goes to show, that if the contractor and the customer work together in a collaborative way - the job can be done to satisfaction with no qualms. I will definitely be considering them for future work.

it was a pleasure working with Dale, with Grout Masters of Virginia. I had purchased a coupon for tile and grout repair, and Dale and Kevin came on a Sunday to do the repairs, which I appreciated very much. They were punctual, very efficient, professional, and did a great job. They answered all my questions and did a good job estimating (on the phone) how long it would take them, so no additional costs were necessary. They also cleaned up everything very well. I could not have been happier - lucky Virginians!

Everything was done on time and less expensively than the original quote! We've needed some additional closet space in our small house and Ian accomplished this from design to building! Also, we had some broken flooring in the bathroom and these tiles are repaired without having to do the entire floor over. Ian had some suggestions for other tasks in general (the house was built in l920) and we will definitely have him complete these.

The assigned handyman was not available but a replacement was sent with only a one hour delay. And they called to keep me informed of the changes. Also, an email was sent with the picture of the new handyman prior to the appointment. Repairs were completed in three hours with some detailed carpentry required for the bathroom vanity. All work areas were cleaned after the work was completed and we were very satisfied with the work.

We had seven projects that were dealt with by 4 different master craftsmen. We had a leaky roof over the garage that caused damage and a leaky outside faucet that had caused some major dry wall damage. Herbert did the roof work and if you need roof work, ask for him. Wow was he great! The drywall and tile work is perfect (Pemberton did a great job on the tiling and drywall) and all of my friends say that it looks like there has never been any damage. This company checks up on each person and responds within hours! Every questioned was warmly answered and we could not be happier. The project manager, Dan, works with you and explains everything in detail. No pressure, just great work and craftsmen who take pride in their work.

Mr. Keaney was superb. He contacted me the day after I sent him an e-mail inquiring about his company's availability. He came to my apartment within a few days to review the work that needed to be done. A week after that, the work was done and done beautifully. The new tile in the kitchen looks great; he matched new tile and design to an existing backsplash. And the bathroom showers got a much-needed upgrade. He gave me advice on how to keep the tile, marble, and old-old chrome shower heads clean. He was professional and clearly knows his craft. We live in a 1929 condo building in DC. Mr. Keaney understood the pitfalls of such old construction, especially such old plumbing; and educated me on how the building was renovated in the early 1980s, explaining some of the not-so-endearing-anymore "original design." I recommend him without a doubt.

orgaThe project was completed in one morning and the area was clean and neat after the work was complete. An excellent installation of tile was accomplished that complemented existing tile. Hugh worked in an organized manner w/o wasting anytime. I am happy to give Hugh the highest and best recommendation for his work. He maintains he is not an artist, but his work and the results speak otherwise.

We hired Jim the Handyman to get home ready for sale. Kelly and crew did a phenomenal job in a short amount of time, and work performed was very high quality. Kelly even repaired a large crack in the ceiling at no extra charge. Crew cleaned up work areas when finished and left no trace of having been there. Can't recommend JTH enough!

Things went pretty smoothly. The workmen were professional and did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves every day. They redid a piece of tile on the floor that I did not like how it fitted. They were willing to do the job to my satisfaction. I was disappointed that the company owner never came by to check the work which was stated in other reviews that conveniences me to try that company.

I had a leak in the roof a few years ago. The bathroom ceiling and corner wall were damaged, and the water got behind the bathroom tiles around the window, so the damage was significant. I knew that my budget would only allow me to do a portion of the bathroom rather than the entire bathroom. This seemed to be a problem for some other companies that I called. Ron showed up for the estimate and did not put any pressure on me to do the whole bathroom at all. He explained what they would do, had pictures to show of the materials to choose from and we were able to match the fixtures to the already installed sink fixtures. Ron gave me a written estimate that was detailed. (I've gotten estimates from other companies that were rather cryptic.) The installer Rob was on time and very pleasant. He put drop cloth from the bathroom to the front door to avoid any carpet stains. There was no mess to contend with at any time. He got the job done in two and a half days and it looks gorgeous. I was very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend American Bath Inc to others and I do plan on calling them again in the future.
