They installed the boiler in my basement. He was supposed to install a 100000 BTU boiler, they installed one that is only 70000 BTU. They also did not install the thermostat they stated would be installed. I had to fight with them to install a new expansion tank rather than using the one from my old boiler. The boiler has never worked and not helped me. They charged my credit card before the work was even performed. They have offered to come and fix the boiler, but I want them to replace it with one that works. I am now going to have to contact a different company to report on the boiler. The credit card company needs me to do this to find out about the defective boiler. I have now been without heat for two weeks during extreme snow storms.

This service checkup was delivered as part of an annual maintenance plan I've purchased through Angie's List. I was able to set up an appointment by phone with the company, immediately after having completed the purchase online. The technician arrived on time and was very attentive. He revised the boiler and took the time to provide me with a thorough explanation of the boiler's condition. He fixed a couple of important things that weren't working well. He also explained options in terms of replacing the boiler in the near future. Additionally, although he wasn't supposed to, he kindly revised the digital display of the heating system, re-programmed it, and even put in new batteries. Overall, a very good experience.

The co-owner, Billy Silk, came to my house to give me an estimate for a new boiler and was incredibly rude. When he said I would need a boiler with a pump, I asked if the pumps made noise; he said, "I've been doing this for 40 years and never gotten any complaints, but I can tell I'll get some from you." He sent me a rough estimate and recommended model on a Thursday, and when I sent an email to ask questions about his recommendations, he replied on Monday that they had suddenly become too busy to do the work. Rude and disrespectful. I'm glad I got to see what kind of business they are before entering into a contract.

Marcus did an awesome job. He was incredibly thorough, worked quickly, and provided great explanations around everything that he was doing. Being new home owners, and never having used a boiler/radiator system, we had many questions, all of which he answered knowledgeably and explained thoroughly. I would absolutely have SILA come back again, and probably request that Marcus come back again if possible.

I bought an Angie's List coupon for water heater maintenance (especially flush for $59). Scheduling was very easy and there was an ample choice for appointments. The company also offered maintenance for my heating system (water boiler for hot water radiators) for $79 which I took as I needed service there as well. Service was very good: on time, friendly, technician took time to explain everything. Cleaned out (Heat Boiler) carefully, replaced defective thermocouple (pilot on burner would not stay on since the end of last winter) and tested that radiators would work (i.e. heat up) correctly after finishing maintenance on the boiler. Afterwards technician flushed hot water heater and tested the exhaust vent. Only (minor) caveat: Pricing for the replacement part! The thermocouple for my Burnham Burner was $275 (in addition to the $79 for general maintenance). I am no expert on heating systems but this part is a set of wires with a sensor. It did not appear to be a piece of very sophisticated technology and the steep price surprised me a little. Still I wanted the system to work and was willing to pay the price for a piece that will probably last for years. Overall SILA did an excellent job and the experience was very pleasant all the way from first scheduling call through the service performed.

Great service. Technician didn't have the parts available for my boiler on his truck but was prepared to order them and return later in the week. When I wanted to fix it myself faster, he was very helpful in identifying the parts that needed to be replaced and the level of difficulty in making this repair.

Excellent! The NCB-210 combination boiler/water heater was mounted on a 3/4" plywood backer board attached to a constructed wall. The exhaust and air in-take pipes run vertically off the top of the boiler into the joistbay, continue to the rear foundation wall, penetrate the wall, and terminate on the surface of the exterior wall. Gas runs from the existing 1" black pipe gas system. The boiler was integrated into the existing 1-zone hydronic system for heating and the closest 3/4" hot and cold water piping for domestic hot water. The boiler and water heater work very well.

The boiler was making a loud noise and constantly running which was spiking up the temperature in the bedrooms upstairs. Sila sent a technician the following day and after assessment, the technician gave me exactly what was wrong and his recommendation. Before leaving, he made sure that the boiler was running properly and that I was satisfied with the service. I would definitely use Sila again for my future Boiler/AC work!

BMC Clower is a well run company. Their employees are all very professional, from the phone people to the technicians, and friendly. The new boiler works great. We've had a couple of hitches, but they were addressed with speed and courtesy. I highly recommend them.

I was pleased with All Pro and would recommend them to friends. The crew was prompt and professional. I received a detailed quote and the job was completed as promised. For the same price as a competitor bid for the boiler alone, All Pro threw in a water heater and drilled an extra hole through the wall for our dryer vent. My only disappointment was that they dripped solder on our basement floor in a couple of places and sealed the dryer duct with an unattractive, bright red caulk (our brick is white), which they also dripped on our brick wall exterior in a couple of places. Otherwise, our overall experience was excellent.

I was very happy with Mr. Goldman’s replacement of my boiler and hot water heater, and a rooftop HVAC unit. He gave me thoughtful recommendations for the replacement systems (a high efficiency tankless system and an AC with a supplemental heating system for emergencies) and installed them with no problems and no mess. He cleaned everything up after and has followed up with me to make sure everything is working properly. I would definitely hire him again if my other AC unit (this is a very old house so a little wonky) needs work or replacement.

Installation of everything went well, the old items were removed, and the area was left clean, however, the thermostat installed for the boiler was defective and, after a couple of days, had to be replaced.

The installers arrived early on a Tuesday morning and were finished with the whole job by 10 a.m. on Wednesday. They were very personable and professional. Removed a 600 pounds old boiler, replaced pipes that needed replacing, removed an old shelf so that the new boiler would fit more easily into the tight space and provided us with more room. They vacuumed up after the job and bled all the radiators before leaving.

Technician diagnosed the problem and fixed it efficiently. Easy problem to fix and therefore the basic diagnostic fee was probably too high but the unit functioned properly.

They arrived on time and with all they needed. Laid out a floor covering each day, cleaned up at the end of each day, were polite, professional and knowledgeable. It was a lot of work, more than they anticipated but they never asked or even suggested that the bid price was a problem. They ran into more problems than they anticipated and wanted to adjust the schedule by a week...when I said that would not work for us, they adjusted their schedule to meet our needs. They kept the hot water on the whole time even though it was a royal pain for them to do so. Greg was the office man and was great. Billy did the on the job supervision and all the work and he was terrific. I'd use them again in a New York minute!

Chris was on time, a great communicator and very knowledgeable. He told us what we needed and didn't pander to what he thought we wanted to hear. He gave us a very fair estimate on replacing the water heater and boiler. Linda in the office was also extremely helpful and nice.

The team did a phenomenal job. I am grateful and feel very lucky to have found them. Their estimate was the lowest out of three estimates. Two large companies declined to do the job said it was too complicated. These companies told me they would have to hire a lift to remove the old boiler. JM plumbing thought outside of the box and disassemble the old boiler. The team was respectful and cleaned up so well you could't tell there were there.
