Carport Installation Contractors Near Ashburn

With respect to my first job using Enterprise, the construction of a garage and carport, they drew up plans to accommodate an over sized one car garage and an attached carport to fit into the back corner of the lot. Since it is a typical small Arlington lot and there was a tree in the vicinity of the proposed site, it was determined that the one car garage and carport would work better than a two car garage since the footings required for the carport would be less intrusive than for the two car garage and in that way the tree would not have to be removed. Enterprise designed the garage with a window and entry door which opened out to the carport. It has proven to be a great design as the carport doubles as a covered patio for summer entertaining. The work itself went smoothly and Enterprise supplied an excellent concrete man who extended the driveway and a garage door opener company that did a nice job on that part of the project. Overall, it was a very smoothly handled project.

Like most of my other projects, I started with Angie's List. I selected John Seward for my carport project as his approach and price worked well for me. We made some changes prior to him starting, which was very easy to do. I couldn't be happier with the work that was done. He and his crew were meticulous in their approach. When he would tell me that his crew would be here, they showed up. He kept me informed of every aspect. In total, it was no more than 5 days here. Even during the construction, the area was kept neat and orderly. At the end of the day, other than the progress on the carport, you almost couldn't tell that construction was going on. They kept the whole area immaculate. Not even random nails or screws left around and barely any sawdust. It's not often that i have experienced a contractor who has been so diligent in communication and real follow-up. I'm working remotely from the back of the house, closest to the construction, and I hardly noticed that they were back there working. Terrific experience and when I have my next project needed a contractor, I will be calling John first. I already gave his name to my neighbor across the back alley.

I want to thank NorthCraft Builders for building our new carport. My wife and I have had difficulty getting from our car to our front door as we have been aging. When I met with Jeff, he understood our needs and designed an outstanding new carport to help us be safe when we get to and from our car. With my heart condition, it will be great that I do not have to clean snow off my car anymore. The design is simple and matches our home in just the right way. The carpenters were very professional and always cleaned up the job area at the end of each day. I am recommending NorthCraft Builders to all of my neighbors, family, and friends.

Excellent company to work with. JP Companies removed and installed a new concrete porch and carport pad. The crew arrived on time, complete the work quickly and left the job site clean. We had a few challenges due to an adjacent cement pad and a awkward front entrance. Paulo made some recommendations with confidence only experience can bring to resolve/minimize the issues. Can’t ask for more. Good value, professional and they obviously take pride in their work.

Let me start by saying I don’t give praise when it’s undeserved, and in fact I tend to be overly critical. So it’s significant that I can’t say enough incredible things about the folks associated with Phoenix and the absolute professionalism with which they approached this job. At every step they went “above and beyond” the minimum - for no other reason than to simply do the right thing. They sincerely take pride in their work, and they should. - they took my average house with an old carport and turned it into a residence people stop their cars to take photos of (really). The garage is simply awesome; it’s way better than my wife and I imagined. We started with a meeting with Clint, who listened to what we had in mind and produced 3D renderings that really helped us visualize things. He offered suggestions and gave important feedback that allowed us to save money while simultaneously get more than we guessed would be possible. Then we met Steve, who was equally laid-back but also equally attentive to our needs. Steve is the “on-the-ground” guy who makes sure all the work flows efficiently and that it’s done right. He makes it look easy when I am fairly certain it’s often a bear keeping all the balls in the air. He understands leadership - he has no problem loading up some debris just because he happens to be in the neighborhood, or pitching in on whatever task needs addressing. Trust me - he’s the guy you want in this role. The concrete guys and brick guys are artists! My retired neighbor watched them carefully while i was at work and was amazed they didn’t cut any corners - even with things that would go unseen. They took the time to make their work perfect. The electrician was also a great guy - actually took time to check out an issue that turned out to be unrelated to the project at hand, but his generosity and conscientiousness were much appreciated. Then there was Dan - the kind of craftsman you wish existed in every company you work with. Dan wasn’t satisfied until he made sure things fit perfectly and looked amazing. Again, just because he has pride in his work. He’s fast but “old school” - and the quality of his approach to construction shows. . . Clint stays in the game throughout, BTW, making sure you’re happy, checking in to ensure expectations are being met and things are perfect. You rarely see this level of communication, and it was refreshing, Beware: Clint is freakishly responsive to questions - if you email him on a weekend, don’t be surprised if you get a response within minutes! I could go on, but I think you get the picture. If you are reading this I assume you are considering options and weighing the pros and cons of different companies. I did the same. But do yourself a huge favor and at least meet with them to see how they operate. They are a joy to work with! Oh, and one last thing - they are fast! They finished our garage very close to the day I originally was hoping they could START. They just did everything incredibly well and so efficiently that things hummed along way ahead of schedule. I am writing this to help other potential customers who want an honest review. But to any Phoenix Home Services folks (including subcontractors) who might be reading this - thank you for making our home beautiful. You impressed the heck out of a critical guy with high expectations (and a carpenter for a father-in-law-law!). You should be proud and I will certainly call you again at the drop of a hat!

I want to thank NorthCraft Builders for building our new carport. As my wife and I age, it was getting difficult to for us to get from our driveway to the front door safely. Furthermore, with my heart condition, I am not allowed to shovel snow off my car anymore. The new carport allows us to enter our home through a side door and safely get to and from our vehicles without any concerns for the weather. The simple design matches our house, as well. The owner of the company personally oversaw all of the work to make sure that it was completed in a safe and timely manner. I recommend NorthCraft Builders to my neighbors, friends, and all of you.

He was very friendly and stayed on top of things. Whenever we called, he always got right back to us. He also did a few different projects around the house. I would recommend him and I am using him again in the future.

My experience with All Renovations was fantastic! Omar and Jim were always eager to answer any questions I had and kept me informed throughout the whole project. Their pricing was very fair (even when I added work onto the project along the way). The workers were always on time and very courteous. The work is beautiful and I will recommend them to any and all of my friends.

Overall Shane Hannegan and his crew were fantastic. Work was completed on time and of the highest quality. He helped us navigate the insane permit process even with the added complication of a difficult neighbor. At every step he was ready and willing to interface with the county, long after the entire thing had descended into farce. That mess never impacted the quality of the workmanship or changed the quoted price. Overall extremely happy, and will definitely go to Shane on all future projects.

Brandon initially seemed very responsive and even surprised us by offering to provide an estimate without first visiting our site, and he may have actually done such an estimate. However, he subsequently concluded that he did not have enough information to be comfortable providing the estimate to us. He then sent one of his colleagues to visit the site and discuss the project further with us, but his colleague did not seem to have much of the information that we had already provided to Brandon. We awaited an estimate after his colleague's visit, but never received one. Ultimatel we chose a different contractor whose follow-through was more consistent.

I can't say enough good things about Z&O and Oral. His crew was on time everyday, worked diligently all day and cleaned up each night (which I found amazing given the dust was outside and they were coming back the next day). Oral is so responsive and accommodating. His prices were extremely fair, and the dedication to customer satisfaction is very high. My husband is excited for his new garage - and I can't wait to enjoy our new screened-in porch! Well done Z&O!

I was very pleased by the quality of the repairs; the carport looks very good again. I was equally pleased that Willis Builders followed through by making sure all problems were identified, and fixes recommended. I am having them replace the roof shingles for the main roof next. I have used this company before, and have always been pleased with their work and their professionalism.

Overall, Brian and Derek and their team performed excellent work. While we were more interested in quality construction over speed and price, the work was performed quickly and the price was fair. This was the first major construction we have done on a house and it was a positive experience. Brian called me back quickly after I requested a quote and Derek was on site to view my house and speak to me in person about what we wanted. He was knowledgeable and reassuring. After hearing our goals, Brian and Derek designed a proposal to meet those needs; it is this reason that I wanted an experienced contractor, since I did not want to specify or micromanage every detail. Brian told me that the work would be done like he would want it for his own house, and it is clear that he has high standards. I am sure if I had more specific requirements they would have incorporated them - but I was reassured that I didn't have to specify every detail to ensure a quality build, as I do not work in construction. Both Derek and Brian communicate regularly by phone, email, and text and will be on site frequently. Updates are not uncommonly given on a daily basis. They are easy to reach and respond immediately to answer questions and concerns. If you are not happy with what you see, tell them immediately and they will want to fix it. They will not talk down to you and will give you logical explanations for things if you ask. Their employees are courteous and professional. This was important to us as we had our parents and infant in the house during the day during construction periods. I felt safe to give them access to the house and they would also answer questions when asked. Once the project was finished and inspection approved, I continued to hear from Derek afterwards to ensure things were working well. He took a list of minor details and took care of them and didn't simply disappear. We immediately received compliments on our garage from friends and neighbors walking on the street, many people noting that the garage looks like it was part of the original build - not an easy task, given that my house is almost 50 years old. In summary, we are pleased that we have found a contractor that we can trust to communicate with us and provide quality work. We have other large projects in mind for the future and plan to use Matthews Construction & Design for them. The versatility of their work is also useful, as it saves me from having to find a new company for every different job.

Omar and Jim were very straightforward about everything (costs and schedules, and changes to each as warranted). Both were quick to respond to requests and questions. While I rate Price as A, since All Renovations did come in as the lowest bidder of the builders responding to my request for quote, remember that this is northern Virginia construction costs, and anything you think of after-the-fact or didn't have clearly established with any builder will result in price escalation. Also expect the unexpected. Final cost over original estimate was a little more than 10%, which is what I expected from the start. It should not be looked upon negatively as it concerns All Renovations. Make sure everything is in order for work outside the scope of All Renovations. I needed a tree root pruning before the foundation could be started, but I didn't have it ready in time as the schedule required. The All Renovations crew needed to clear the roots to keep on schedule, as the arborist wasn't available for another full week due to schedule movement as a result of inclement weather. It cost more for All Renovations to do the root removal so the foundation could be laid, but that is because I didn't have it synchronized ahead of their schedule.

I couldn't be happier - the work was completed within a week and exactly what I had asked for was done. Each day the worksite was cleaned up. In addition to the garage, I had asked them to replace some trim, fix the gutters, and build custom boxes around the porch posts. This extra work made the front of the house look much, much better. I provided a simple picture of the boxing I wanted around my columns and it was done exactly as I had hoped. The project manager stayed in contact with me when there were any questions so there were no problems or delays. I would recommend Willis Builders wholeheartedly. From the initial consultation to the onsite performance of the work requested, there were no problems. Thank you Rob Morris, Giovanny and crew.

Mike is a knowledgeable builder who does excellent quality work. He doesn’t take short cuts and takes pride in his work. He had the experience and expertise to quickly resolve unforeseen problems that arose on the job. I had complete confidence in him and the job he did.

I contacted Lakewood Homebuilders via Angie's List. I actually got an account after getting so tired of calling several firms and never getting an answer. I received a reply from Lakewood within a day of my contact from Tim, who put me in touch with John. John came over a few days later to look at the site and to discuss what we wanted to do. This was our first major renovation project so we were not quite ready or knew what to expect. This is mostly why we felt that the price was fair, as we have no other experience completing a similar project. Comparing the quote with other quotes Lakewood's quote was very competitive. All things considered, we do feel we got a good deal as price is only one part of what makes a succesful project. John explained the quote in detail and we became more comfortable with the quote. As we were working through the details of the project, it was quickly apparent that the concrete work was the bulk of the cost as we had to completely remove and replace the slab. We wanted to enclose the carport into a garage, and that meant that we needed a continuous 2ft deep footing per county code. Lakewood gave use two additional quotes to cover several options: repair carport and repair carport with foundation for single car garage. We chose the option to repair with foundation ready for single car garage thinking we would finish the garage in a year or so - spread the cost a bit. As the project progressed, we got a start date and promptly the crews arrived and started work. Everyone was very professional and they worked quickly and kept the project site clean. Part of the way through the first day we decided that we might as well go through with the entire project and finish the garage. Both John and Tim did not hesitate or delay the project and immediately orchestrated the several other contractors needed to finish the garage: electrical, siding, and garage door. It was like we never changed a thing. Project was very succesful and we were impressed with their professionalism, prompt communication and flexibility.

Ryan's team worked very quickly and the communication, responsiveness, and punctuality were excellent. The roofing was completed in a day, the siding was completed in 4-5 days, and the carport and storage shed were built and finished within 2-3 weeks with breaks for town inspection, etc. included. Whenever I had any questions or concerns about particular details, Ryan quickly responded and addressed them. We had some minor issues that were not necessarily Ryan's fault but he did his best to remediate them to our satisfaction. For example, the door manufacturer Provia has a standard practice of producing French doors with locks/deadbolts on both doors which we had not been aware of- one door with real locks and the other door with fake locks for cosmetics/symmetry- while most French doors have a locking primary door and a non-primary door with handles but no locks. We were expecting the latter setup per French doors we normally see but, in contacting the representative from the door company after installing, Ryan was told that this configuration was not available. Per the representative, the best that could be done was to replace the locking handles on the non-primary door with non-locking handles and to replace the fake deadbolt on the interior with a dummy plate, leaving the fake deadbolt keyhole on the outside of the non-primary door as-is. Although this was not my ideal preference (I would really prefer a normal set of primary/non-primary French doors), it was a satisfactory solution. In the future Ryan says that he will explain Provia's manufacturing approach for French doors to prospective customers and offer another manufacturer to anyone who is not satisfied with having cosmetic dummy locks on the non-primary door. I am giving Quest an A because, overall, the quality of the work was excellent- we've received compliments from all of our friends and neighbors about how great the house looks- and Ryan was a pleasure to work with. We look forward to using him again and have recommended him to several neighbors who are interested in having work done on their homes.

This is the second time I've used Sydney. We first had him build our carport which he and his crew did a great job for a fair price. I recently called Sydney to install 2 porches lanterns. The 2nd light is an addition and required electrical and cutting through the plaster and repair/painting and again Sydney and his crew did a great job for a fantastic price! Don't hesitate to hire this crew as they are professionals committed to excellence! As an older homeowner I'm always skeptical of contractors; however, Sydney and crew are my go to contractor!!
