Very well. A nice gentleman named John picked up the very heavy bags of sod removed from my back yard for disposal.

They did a good job removing the shrubs and putting in the new shrubs. They filled in the large dip in the lawn with topsoil, but they did not use a roller or other tool to compact the soil. They laid sod on top of the loose topsoil, again without compacting it, and watered it. Because the topsoil was loose, the sod seemed to float. I was dissatisfied with this job. They edged along my brick walk with a tool that may have been too much for the job. It removed all soil about 5 inches deep and 4 inches wide next to the brick walk. I was concerned that if someone could get hurt or fall if they stepped over the edge of the walk and turned an ankle. I had to fill in the edge with soil to make it safe again.

Reasonable prices, arrived on time, helpful, completed job on time within budgeted price, willing to add additional work to job for reasonable price, and cleaned up after work completed.

Then he asked me a series of questions, and adjusted the job based upon my preferences. Quote for work was very, very high. They did one round of revisions to narrow scope, but that didn't change the price. When I told them changing the scope but not the price wouldn't help, they said they'd take it management to see if they could come down a little. I also reminded them about the Angie's list discount and they said they couldn't apply it because I didn't physically hand them the coupon on the first meeting. I reminded them they said that okay (given that we just moved and hadn't unpacked our printer at the first meeting). And I certainly wouldn't have agreed to pay the $550 design fee if I knew they were not going to honor the coupon. They said they'd have to take that up with management. Never heard back from them so moved on with someone that was a little more responsive and much cheaper.

Henry, one of the co-owners, came promptly to the appointment for the estimate, and also promptly sent me the estimate by email. He made useful suggestions that had not occurred to me, and seemed quite knowledgeable about his business. The work was scheduled quickly after I accepted the fair estimate. The workmen came on time, were considerate of my property, and cleaned up after themselves when they were finished. I asked Henry to provide an estimate for a limb removal to forward to a neighboring family that had unexpectedly lost the father and are preparing the house for sale. He offered to remove the medium sized limb for free, an offer that was gratefully accepted by the family. My project was completed on time, on budget, with no surprises. Henry came to review the job at the end, noticed a few things that needed a small amount of attention, and had it quickly fixed. The next time I need a landscape contractor, HEMAX will be the first company I call.

J&G did excellent work throughout the project. Their concept of how to redesign our stairway entrance and how to place new plantings was very helpful and we took virtually all of their suggestions. On the other hand, we had some ideas of our own that were not part of their original design. and J&G willingly embraced our modifications and made the whole Plan come together beautifully. Their men are a pleasure to work with; very helpful and very friendly. The work was done on time and on budget. We ran into a serious problem that was not J&G's fault. At the time the sod was installed, we hit a very rainy and hot and humid stretch of weather. That afflicted the new sod with fungus that destroyed approximately half the sod. J&G accepted responsibility and completely replaced the sod.

It went incredibly well. The team was there within a week and by the time I got home, the yard was impeccably clean and well exceeded my expectations as to how nice it could look, given how bad it had gotten. I expect to use them again in the spring for planting, regular cleanup and monthly maintenance during the growing season. Highly recommend them. Their customer service was stellar.

We bought a new house last year, and after spending most of 2011 trying to fix the front and back yards by myself it became apparent I needed some professional help. We called several companies and received about 5 quotes before deciding to go with Trey Willis and Eand S Enterprise.The front yard had obviously been neglected for a while before we moved in. It was mostly weeds. It appeared to get plenty of sun and have decent soil - but the weeds were everywhere. There was also a small tree that was half dead that we wanted to have removed as well as some stepping stones we no longer wanted. Eand S Enterprise knocked all this work out in about 1 day. They removed the old grass, tilled the soil, put down the new sod, removed the stepping stones, cut down the tree and ground the stump.Our back yard was even worse. There were spots that had grass growing, but there were a lot of weeds mixed in. Most of the soil was very sandy and compacted, and in many places nothing would grow - not even weeds. We also had some erosion problems due to the slope and lack of any grass or ground cover. So in the back yard we wanted all of the yard redone with sod, downspout extensions installed to drain out the back of our property, rocks placed under the decks (there was nothing but dirt under them before), and the flower beds mulched and some groundcover (Japanese spurge) installed. The back yard took them much longer, mainly due to the rainy weather we had in late April / early May. Eand S removed the old grass, tilled the soil, added topsoil, and placed the new sod. They also buried the downspout extensions from the house to empty in the wooded area behind our house (about 75 feet long for each downspout). They also put rocks under our decks to help keep the soil in place, and mulched the flower beds, ground a stump, and added groundcover. When everything was complete, it was hard to believe it was the same yard. In fact, it made such a big impact it made the whole house look better. Trey Willis (the owner) was on site every day and working with his team. I talked to him every day that he was there, and he was always easy to work with. He was very professional and I would certainly contract with him again to do similar work in the future. His team did an outstanding job and every day that I look outside and see the difference it makes to our house I am thankful for the excellent quality of his work.
