Excellent. This is the second time we hired this company and they were OUTSTANDING. Two other neighbors and I hired them about 5 years ago to do a stone patio and the same two and I hired them again to do a water table on 3 sides of the house. Detailed work and just beautiful

Paulo Nicolau and his crew recently completed a concrete driveway and CMU divider wall demo and rebuild. The also parged the wall and reset the pavers in my patio. Of the numerous contractors I have spoken to regarding this project, JP Companies presented the best in terms of cost, warranty, design, materials, reputation, and personnel. The project planning started last Autumn, but as we finalized details the weather grew too cold for concrete work. Paulo, however, stayed in touch over the winter, advising on possible upcoming scheduling and answering numerous questions regarding care, maintenance, materials, warranty specifics, contract options, etc. When the weather finally let up they completed the work efficiently, working long days, including a Saturday, cleaning up after themselves every time, and working in a fashion presenting minimal disturbance to other parts of my property and neighbors' properties. They also managed unforeseen issues with a utility provider. The individual masonry workers did good work, finding areas not originally scoped but in need of little fixes and doing so. And, the one time the opposite occurred, i.e., they forgot to do something, Paulo had them out the next day removing the mistaken work, and redoing the area to specification. On the day before the last, I noticed literally less than a handful of old bricks near the project area which needed repointing and Paulo had his masonry worker come out and do it the next morning. In these instances, when some others might have, not so much for the materials, but for the extra labor hours, no extra cost was added to our contract. Overall, JP Companies, Inc. provided great service and workmanship, educated their customer so that informed decisions could be made and maintained a professional but friendly and warm demeanor throughout. I would definitely recommend them.

First off, I would like to thank Mike, Garrett, Artemio and his team for doing an outstanding job for both the masonry repair and the new flagstone patio. We were extremely pleased with their professionalism, attention to detail and great service during the whole process. I contacted Capital Masonry April 25th to schedule an estimate, and Mike and Garrett came by on April 27 for an evaluation. After a 30-minute walkthrough, they provided an estimate on the spot. The estimate came out to $1,950 for the masonry work and $7,750 to build the flagstone patio. We chose Capital Masonry based off references, consistently excellent reviews on Angie's List, Google and Yelp, and they did not disappoint. The project was scheduled on May 7th and took three days to complete. Artemio and his team were on time, efficient, responsive, hardworking and experts in their craft. The crew was very diligent in cleaning up and leaving the work area nice and tidy when they were done. The masonry work is impeccable and the flagstone patio looks magnificent! The work done has added value and character to both our home and backyard. Given the level of service provided and the quality of craftmanship, Capital Masonry has exceeded our expectations. We are very pleased with our decision in selecting Capital Masonry and look forward to hiring them again for future projects.

Scheduled an appointment for 9AM on Saturday morning. They never showed up. Tried calling them at 703-543-6929 but says their hours are only through Friday. Tried the phone # Angie's List provides, but just disconnects. Totally unprofessional and wasted our time. If you can't show up for the sales call, how can you trust them to show up for the work? And would love to see them say my phone # didn't work since it's the same phone they called me on to book the appointment. Updated(12/18/2020): No email was ever sent. Company claims "Google was down" so not everyone received mass email.

I was so impressed with Capital Masonry, LLC. It was a great all around experience with the staff, the communication, and the outcome of the projects. Every area was handled with expertise and professionalism. They constructed boulder steps along the side of my house, down a steep slope. The steps look amazing! They also fixed deteriorating joints on my window sills, cracks on my front steps, as well as on my patio. The end result with all the other repairs were a smooth, professional looking finish. I am very fortunate and grateful that I hired Capital Masonry. I was completely satisfied with the services and products. I highly recommend them for any masonry project.

The Old English crew just completed a major repair to my front walkway, the repair and resurfacing of my front steps and porch floor, the restoration of the original porch railing and installation of new stair railings. They were highly professional, hardworking, thorough and responsive to my specific requests. They did a great clean up at the end and restored my porch furniture and plants just as I wished. It was a pleasure to work with this company from start to finish. I highly recommend them as honest and talented craftsmen with excellent manners and lots of good cheer.

HB was my contact person who managed the two jobs- capping and masonry work. The works makes my home look new. My cement walkway was cracked and the sides of my porch were not smooth. The Mansons work was outstanding making the porch and cement walkway not only look good but more efficient. The caping was completed in one day. Thank you HB and the RIBA construction team.

I got estimates from three companies, and Mike Cadle's of Capital Masonry was very fair -- not the highest and not the lowest. I chose Capital Masonry because of their excellent reviews on our neighborhood NextDoor and on Angie's List. Three masonry workers began work on a Monday and completed the job by Friday of the same week. I could see them working, and they worked very hard from 8:30 to 5 each day, sometimes longer. No laying about. The resulting walls are absolutely beautiful and my yard was left clean.

Since I was satisfied with Mr. Pereira’s masonry work last year, I’ve decided to continue working with his company. This year, as he suggested to do at circle driveway of the front entrance, he cut existing asphalt cap, prepared surface to accept a fieldstone cap of salvaged stone, and then laid stone in a similar fashion as those on walks restored last year. This area, which measured ~150 sq ft, was properly graded so no water is coming towards the house anymore. Then, at the rear walk with an area of 143 square feet, he raised the existing stone and deteriorated sub-base and replaced the sub-base with a wire mesh site mixed concrete (the salvaged stone was reused at front as described above). In this area, the new stone was used, which was bought in a local quarry, but Mr. Pereira helped with selection of appropriate materials, which matches the house. Next to this walk, he also built a wall with a same stone (42’ x 14”). As always, Mr. Pereira and his team was professional, polite, responsive and easy to work with. As the engineer, Frank has very good advices on many projects. I will continue working with him in upcoming months.

I did not use this company because I decided not to do the project, but I thought his estimate was very fair. His price was considerably lower than others who provided quotes. He was prompt in getting back to me and came out quickly to give the estimate.

We first discovered Mottern Masonry as a result of the earthquake of 2011, which damaged the brick walls of the garage that is attached to our house. The outer wall suffered the worst damage. The inside wall, though not so badly damaged, also needed repair. We have since had Mottern Masonry back to work on our cement back stairs, which are very tall. We have currently contracted with them to dig down and seal the water pipe that is allowing rain water to enter our basement, and to regrade that entire side of the house to promote proper rain water run-off. Mottern Masonry does excellent work. They know what they are doing. After going around with them to inspect our brick home and garage after the earthquake, we felt totally confident in their assessment of the damage. Our confidence in them increased when we saw the work that they did to repair that damage. We have continued to depend on Mottern Masonry for any masonry work we need. Mottern Masonry is very practical; they state exactly what is necessary to accomplish the work. There is no over-selling. If a particular thing is not necessary, they say so. We depend upon Mottern Masonry for their excellent work. They arrived on time and finish within the time that they project the task will take. They work diligently and well, and clean up after themselves when they are finished. Their prices are entirely reasonable.

Mottern Masonry installed a concrete sidewalk in the front of our home. This sidewalk connected the driveway to the two front porches. It looks great! The two porches were installed by Mottern a couple of years ago, and they are Pennsylvania Blue Flagstone surfaces with natural stone sides. They did an excellent job on both the porches and the sidewalk. They are the only firm I would hire for masonry work. They are meticulous, prompt, clean, and professional. Mottern Masonry is trustworthy and will do what they say they will do. The job was accomplished portions of 4 days; trenching, preparing forms and rebar, concrete pour, and removal of forms and cleanup. I am very satisfied with the work, and would highly recommend Mottern Masonry.
